She Accepted Divorce, He Panicked

"How do you feel?" Adrian breaks the awkward air, taunting Sebastian with a smirk, "Regret dropping fencing now?"

Sebastian rolls his eyes at him, lying back down with a low groan.

Adrian grins, shooting a glance at Scar before he continues: "Since when were you into the hero type, hmm? The almighty Mr. Knight, into the devil's nest with his bare hands for the beauty." Scar looks away.

"You did that, too," Sebastian glares at Adrian.

When that psycho took Scar, Adrian sneaked in and saved Scar when her chair was falling off that abandoned building. Sebastian could never forget the wronged tears in Scar's eyes, and the admiring look when she put her arms around Adrian's neck.

"Yes, I did," Adrian curves his lips tauntinly, "successfully with a gun. Consider yourself lucky that these bastards didn't have guns, or you wouldn't be here by now."

"That...is lucky..." Sebastian frowns with deep thoughts, trying to think under the sedative. His brain is still a mush.

Why didn't they even have guns?

The thugs cared not about anything. They were ready to hurt them, and they probably never intended for them to get out of there alive. So, why not guns? Wouldn't that make everything much simpler? It's not like guns are that hard to access.

He called the police the moment he witnessed the car accident. After that, it took him more than twenty minutes to chase them up to that warehouse. Normally the police should be there by now. Not to mention, he didn't just call the police. He called Jeremy Rogers, the chief of the police, by person.

Yet the police only showed up when they almost got to Scar.

Could Jack Fuller really pull this off? Or it was that man...

Silco. Who the hell is he and why is he doing all this?!

Sebastian frowns. That man had shown no harm to Scar before this. So even though he couldn't pin down his identity, he didn't push it too hard. But now...

"Not as lucky as you though," Adrian grabs Sebastian and kneads with his thumb, making Sebastian gasp in pain before slapping his hand off, "Does it hurt?"

Sebastian sends him a death stare, regretting making peace with Adrian. After his fallout with Gabrial, Adrian and he had the tacit understanding that they were getting back to how they were.

"Consider yourself lucky that you only got a few bruises and a broken bone," Adrian gives Sebastian an annoying grin, "EXTREMELY lucky, don't you think?"

Scar frowns at Adrian's stressing on that word and looks over, only to see that while Adrian is smiling, his eyes are dead serious. Sebastian catches that, too, and his look also turns serious. Did she miss something?

"What are you--" Scar asks, but Adrian already puts away that sharp look and smiles at her: "Just a pity that this jerk is not paying more for what he did to you, little lamb."

Scar opens her mouth in shock at that nickname, turning her whole attention to Aurora to see if Aurora already knows.

"What lamb?" Aurora frowns.

Scar glares at Adrian, who smirks at her.

"You sure you want me to tell her?!" Scar threatens Adrian, and the man just shrugs--

"That would be doing me a favor. Because apparently, some silly woman doesn't have any memory from their own 6th grade, unlike you, who puts the important one in your heart all the time." Scar's ears turn red.

"Adrian Dunn!" Aurora sends over a deathstare, and the man returns a polite smile, giving her no excuse to let out her temper.

"What's the game that you are playing?" Scar asks Aurora curiously.

"So, it's like..." Aurora bites her lips, hesitating for a moment before she whispers at Scar, "Adrian asked me when was the first time that we talked in school, and I can't remember--" noveldrama

"Hey, no cheating," Adrian taunts, sticking his head between the girls, "No outside help, we agreed!"

Scar blinks in confusion, and Aurora lets out a frustrated huff.

"I was just explaining to Scar!"

The man bows lightly with a perfect smile: "And I believe you a hundred percent."

A laugh escapes Scar, seeing the lovely couple having fun. Well, ate least Adrian is. Aurora makes a face at Scar as Adrian pushes her out of the room: "Our job is done here. Let's give them some space."

"Let's catch up though!" Aurora struggles under Adrian's hands, shouting at Scar: "I have got your new number now!" "...okay," Scar manages a smile.

"Ohh, by the way! The policeman came to let you know that they caught the three guys! You weren't. there so they told me to deliver the message," Aurora adds when her body is already outside the door. She manages to sticks her head in: "You are safe now, baby! See you around!"

Her words freezes the blood in Scar's veins.

Three guys? There were five of them, at least!
