When she married into the York family, the amount of jewelry she had received from her family was enough to stock up a jewelry store. They were kept in her safe.

After Callum married Camryn, Rosella had given quite a few of her prized jewelry to her daughter-in-law.

Dylan answered, "I don't have a wife yet anyway. I just bought them for you because I saw some new designs."

"Did you buy any for your nana?"

Dylan handed the velvet box to his mom and replied, "Nana doesn't want jewelry from us, so I bought her a bouquet. Even so, she said I was wasting my money and that there's plenty of flowers in the garden."

Rosella accepted the box. She smiled. “She may look like she doesn't like it, but she'll be secretly happy. If she didn't tell you to bring the flowers back, it meant she liked them a lot. She won't come home before showing off the flowers to everyone there."

Rosella knew Grandma May well enough after being her daughter-in-law for decades.

She looked behind Dylan and asked, "Is there no one else in the car? Is it just you? I thought you'd bring a guest with you because Grandma May said you'd be returning for lunch."

"It's just me."

Dylan acted dumb. He knew that his nana had told his mother about Imogen being in Wiltspoon.

Just as the old lady mentioned, his parents were worried about their children's marriages. However, worrying was useless as they never listened to their parents' arrangements. Therefore, there was no choice but to let Grandma May be in charge.

Rosella glared at her son and scolded, "Isn't Ms. Doyle here in Wiltspoon? You two even ate and spent the night together last night. How can you not bring her with you? I want to know what kind of person Nana chose for you.

"How is she compared to Serenity?" Rosella asked.

"Nothing happened between Ms. Doyle and me, Mom. We only met and ate together because Serenity invited us."

Dylan walked into the house and explained, "Don't be so loud. If word gets out, it'll ruin Ms. Doyle's reputation. I sent her back to her room because she got drunk, and I took care of her after she threw up.

"If Nana had told you everything, you must know that I don't love Ms. Doyle at all. I admit that she's an outstanding lady like Serenity, but I really can't see myself being in a romantic relationship with her."

Dylan poured himself a cup of tea before heading to the sofa, where Martin was reading the newspaper. Dylan greeted his father and sat beside him. He nudged Martin lightly. When Martin looked toward him, he whispered, "Please help me get out of this trouble."

Martin folded the newspaper and asked, "Did you come back alone?"

Dylan was speechless.

"Why are you alone?"

Dylan said, "This is my house, Dad. Can't I come home? You usually complain that we never spend time with you and Mom, but now you're asking me why I'm here."

"I'm not against you coming back. I just want to meet my daughter-in-law."

Dylan had no words. It seemed like single men were no longer welcome at home.

"You already have a daughter-in-law."

"I have three sons but only one daughter-in-law. There are still two more to go. Rosella and I want grandkids too."

Camryn was unable to get pregnant for two years. If Rosella and Martin wanted grandchildren, they would have to count on Dylan and his wife.

Martin placed the folded newspaper on the coffee table. He told his wife, "You even asked the kitchen to prepare more food. I don't think it's needed since it's just Dylan. Plain mash and broccoli will be good enough for him.”
