Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1423

He came all the way here to free himself from her, didn't he?

Suddenly, Wyatt realized how she had intruded his mind from time to time, and no matter what he did, he couldn't remove her from it, not completely!

With the fork and knife in hand, he cut the steak angrily. He slammed the silverware into the steak so forcefully one could even hear the sound of porcelain rubbing against each other.

"The steak's pretty good. Would you like to try it?"

He cut out a small piece of steak and handed it over to her. Raynee narrowed her eyes as she noticed his oddity. She picked up the steak with her fork and played with it for a while. Even though it was a small piece of steak, she only nibbled a little of it before putting it back down. Perhaps she didn't even take a bite, perhaps she merely licked its surface for the taste.

"Yeah, it's not bad! However...you know, I don't like meat!"

To be more accurate, she had a very strict diet, so every time they ate out together, it was basically just Wyatt eating. She'd either drink some water, or just watch him eat. Every once in a while she'd order a salad too.

People said that women could only choose between food and beauty, and indeed she was beautiful. She was elegant and delicate. She was so pretty it was as though she was a painting. Right there and then, even though she was just sitting there, doing nothing, she was still eye-catching.

However, to be frank, her presence chased away his appetite!

Back in the day, he would occasionally feel that way too, but it was subtle. Back then, Wyatt would just bear with it, and perhaps he had grown used to it. However, the sense of disgust was exceptionally strong that day. Something was very wrong!

The strange and uncomfortable feeling stirred his insides. It threatened to escape, and even though Wyatt tried desperately to pin it down, he knew he couldn't do so for much longer.

Wyatt didn't answer. He cut out another piece of steak and slipped it into his mouth. His gaze fell and landed on the moving fork in his hand. A silver light flashed as the charming yet deadly woman's voice resonated in his mind.

"...I'll pierce your heart with this, Wyatt, with a steel fork! It's sharp and unbreakable-a steel fork!"

His fingers slid up and down the fork as he unconsciously muttered, "A steel fork?"

The ravishing memories of her flooded his mind. His soul seemed to be lost from his body as his eyes lost focus.

Raynee glared at him in confusion. "Uh, yeah! It's a steel fork," she didn't know what else to say, "Why?"

His soul seemed to return for a moment as he replied, "Nothing!" He may have also done it involuntarily though.

Subsequently, he put down the fork, but his gaze was glued to the silverware.

He picked up a napkin and cleaned his lips. A familiar scent seemed to have invaded his nostrils as another alluring scene bombarded his mind. Wyatt's body went rigid again and he froze on the spot.

Sitting opposite of him, Raynee played with her salad as she spoke.

"Wyatt, we haven't eaten together for a long time, huh? I really miss the old days when we could meet every day...actually, I miss home, too. I sorta want to go back to Casterwich City!"

"Wyatt, you know, aside from you, dance is what I love most! Even though I've won a lot of awards and performed on many good stages, I've never stepped onto a great stage before. It's not because I'm not good enough, but it's the stupid accidents and coincidences. Like last time, a dancer on our team played dirty to replace my position. I always thought I was the problem, but turns out I'm not. What should I do from now on?" "There was another time when my dance partner injured his leg during practice, so I wasn't able to join the Black Pool Dance Festival, but who could I blame? Our teacher kept telling us that our partners aren't just part of the dance, but they're part of us too. Although I could get myself a last-minute partner, the rapport between us wouldn't be enough-"

"Regardless, I'm ready for next year's Black Pool Festival! I've already signed up for it too! We've passed the preliminary rounds with flying colors, so I'm pretty confident this time! The British Black Pool Dance Festival is a sacred event. If I could step on its stage, I'd be famous. Do you know how difficult it is to represent your country at these kinds of festivals? You know, none of our country's people performed at the festival until a few years ago! If I could perform on that stage too, and even better, if I could win back a prize, then my retirement would be flawless!"

"Wyatt, this is the last time. It doesn't matter if I succeed or fail, just give me six months. After the festival, I'll go back to Casterwich City, then let's get married, okay?"

To be frank, Raynee didn't want to get married and start a family so early. She felt like she could achieve more in her career, and if she gets married, she'd be more or less restricted from achieving true excellence-

even as she spoke, a trace of doubt could be detected in Raynee's voice. She thought he would be overjoyed, or at least, pleased, but he didn't react at all.

She raised her gaze and realized Wyatt had been daydreaming this whole time. His fingers were next to his lips. He seemed to be thinking about something, or reminiscing about something. Something was off about the man.

"Wyatt?"

Something seemed to stab Wyatt as he jumped and came back to his senses. "What?"

She was ignored once again. Raynee was furious as she bashed the fork on the table.

"I've been talking to you forever! What the h*ll are you thinking about? Were you even listening? Do you know how hard it is for me to take a leave to be here with you? And you're daydreaming?"

Raynee got up and left out of frustration.

Wyatt stood up too and frowned, "Raynee-"

He paid the bill and quickly ran after her. However, Wyatt's steps were clumsy. It was as if some part of him was still trapped in that beautiful day dream of his!

She was already angry enough, but when she realized he didn't follow her, Raynee was so furious her face became red and hideous. She wanted to go, yet she didn't want to just leave him, but if she waited for him, she would seem too easy get. The distance between them. was pretty far, so she couldn't allude for him to chase after her. She raised her hand and pretended to call for a taxi, but after a surprisingly short time, a taxi really came.

The moment she opened the taxi door though, she saw him from the corner of her

eye.

"Why can't you move faster?" She clenched her teeth and muttered.

Of course, Wyatt didn't hear her mumbling.

However, the driver in front started urging her, "Miss, do you want to leave or

not?"

"Yes!"

She lifted her foot and bent over. At the same time, Wyatt finally caught up and called out, "Raynee!"

Sorry!

Before Wyatt could say that out loud

though, Raynee had already slipped into the car and swung the door shut. The taxi was gone in an instant. Wyatt stood frozen as he watched Raynee's back from the taxi far away. Raynee, on the other hand, felt that the anger in her was going to overflow.

What a fool!

Couldn't he just run faster? She wanted to leave, and he was going to just let her

go?

She had gone out of her way to take a leave so she could enjoy a nice dinner with

him. However, in the end, she spent the night in her dorm, and now she was in a

bad mood!

On the other hand, for some reason, Wyatt didn't feel like chasing after her anymore. He just went back to his hotel. He didn't even text or call her to explain. He just sat by the bed as his mind went blank-

When his soul finally returned, he gave Raynee a call, but she quickly hung up and shut her phone off.

In the end, their meeting, which was supposed to be joyful, ended in discord. One was absent-minded, while the other was sore and distressed.

She had initially wanted to stay the weekend before returning to Casterwich City,

but after receiving an emergency call, Waverly packed up and had to leave early!

When she left, Abel was evidently upset, but seeing her so lively and energetic delighted him. He thought she'd be better off in Casterwich City too, so he only nagged a little before letting her go.

When she set foot onto Casterwich City, her phone immediately rang, "Dad, I was going to call you. I'm here, don't worry! Your daughter's pretty much grown up now, you can't lose her so easily!"

They chatted for a while. Abel heaved a sigh of relief and hung up the phone when he felt the joy and happiness radiating from the other side of the phone.

She put down her luggage and hurried back to the company with some documents in hand. She was informed that some financial issues had occurred, so she'd have to work overtime. However, when she reached her office, she realized that there was no one there. Only two strangers awaited her arrival!

"Waverly, they're police officers, and they said they have some important stuff to

ask you about. However, they didn't want their case to be disclosed, so I had to call you in like this. I hope you don't mind!"

It was her manager. As soon as he finished his sentence, he quickly got up and

said, "You guys talk, you guys talk, I still have some...businesses to attend to. Call me if you need anything!"

She knew her manager didn't want any trouble, so Waverly didn't say anything.

Her heart skipped a beat as she scanned the two young men in front of her.

The police?

The police must be here for what happened previously! She couldn't really think of anything else!

They didn't even ask for her statement last time, so why were they here? Could itnoveldrama

be that they've found out about her false report? She had used drugs as an

excuse because she thought the authorities would come over sooner!

Even though she had lied, they shouldn't really blame her!

They probably wouldn't!

Besides, the program she wrote was untrackable!

She looked a little timid. After all, it was her first time encountering such things.

She felt somewhat uneasy in front of the police too. "Officers," she forced the words out of her mouth, "How can I be of service?"
