Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1287

However, Willy turned his hands just as Yvette reached out, and his hands were empty again.

"Huh? The balloons, where are they?"

Yvette got up, turned his palms over, and felt his back before climbing down the bed to feel the sack, her eyes wide open the entire time, all anxious, looking absolutely adorkable.

"Where did you hide them?"

After circling around him, she pouted. "It's gone! No fun!"

Willy turned his hands again and once again, two mini balloon-like things sandwiched between his palms. Yvette's eyes lit up at that and snatched them away in an instant.

"I got it! I got it! Mommy..."

She turned to Lauren, smiling brightly.

"Wow, you're so awesome, Yvette!"

Lauren praised, then exchanged a knowing glance with Willy before suggesting, "Yvette, why don't we sit down and watch Daddy do some magic tricks?"

With that, Willy chimed in, "How about this, Yvette? I'll pull a present out of this sack if you take a bite

of your soup."

Yvette nodded, grabbing Lauren's knee with one hand and waving the balloons with the other, all excited. "Any present?"

"Is there anything you want?"

"A doll. The prettiest princess doll..."

As Yvette gestured, Lauren couldn't help reeling, wondering where he'd be able to get that at such short notice?

Willy nodded and deliberately stalled for two seconds. "In that case, you have to take three bites of your soup, close your eyes, and recite your wish devotedly three times!"

Before Lauren could even bring the soup to her, the little one already turned around and leaned over, taking a massive bite. Striking while the iron was hot, Lauren fed her another two spoonfuls, then saw Yvette closing her eyes excitedly and actually began reciting.

"I want a doll like the prettiest princess from the castle, in a pink dress and a crown..."

However, while Lauren was at a loss for words, a figure appeared by the door for a split second, throwing a bubble-wrapped doll into the rolled-out sack next to Willy. Only then did she realize there was half a thick mat, half exposed beneath the hospital bed, under her feet, and the doll landed right at the sack above it, barely making a sound the entire time. Yvette, on the other hand, was still murmuring.

With a slight bend, Willy picked up the doll then kicked the bubble wrap underneath the bed, along with the mat.

He sure could fool a little girl!

Yvette bore into Willy the moment she opened her eyes, but just as she was about to pout with disappointment, he pulled a beautiful doll out from behind him. Though it wasn't in a pink ball gown like she wished for, it was still exquisite. More importantly, it actually wore a crown!

"Wow, my favorite Princess Belle. You're amazing, Daddy!"

"Mommy, Princess Belle in a yellow dress! Now I have Princess Cinderella, Princess Ariel..." Yvette felt the crown happily as she held the doll. However, her innocent words got Willy shocked to his core.

She finally acknowledged him as her father! Though it might have been unintentional, nothing could make him happier than this!

Using her good mood, Lauren fed her another two spoonfuls. "Yeah, it sure is pretty! Just like our baby Yvette!"

Blinking her eyes, Yvette said solemnly and casually, "Daddy, I want Bree. Can you pull one out?"

She may not have realized what she just said; Willy, on the other hand, was so emotional that his voice quivered.

"Of course! Daddy can definitely give you whatever you want. But we're in a hospital. Bree can't come in. How about this? Daddy will pull a rubber snake out for you first and take you to see big birds and other snakes like Bree when the doctors say you can leave the hospital. What do you say?" Nodding nonstop, Yvette closed her eyes knowingly, and in no time, someone actually threw a realistic snake in, shocking Lauren, as it happened so suddenly. However, Yvette was visibly delighted, none the least bit afraid, even playing with it the moment she got it. Even Willy was stumped. She sure was fearless!

Boys usually used these things to scare girls, but his baby girl sure was an exception!

Evidently delighted by the 'magic tricks', Willy and Lauren managed to get a good amount of food into her little belly. Soon, she began feeling sluggish and gradually fell asleep in Lauren's arms.

Willy stayed quietly by Lauren's side, subtly holding her fingertips as he looked at their sleeping daughter. It was neither a cold nor a lonely silent night.

Willy and Lauren thought Yvette was

.ne

already basically fine when she had woken up and had even eaten, but who would've thought she relapsed Not only did her temperature fluctuate, but her stomach would also hurt from time to time. Clearly an angel, she didn't make too much ofa fuss. But she was very much lifeless, having no mood for anything, only holding her mother's hand piteously.

After returning to their ward from another physical examination, Lauren habitually swayed Yvette in her lap while Yvette held on to her shirt, quieting down.

"Are you hungry, Yvette? Is there anything you want to eat? I'll get it for you."

"How about a birthday cake? Should we ask Daddy to get your favorite strawberry cake?"

"Or would you like to play?"

"Do you want me to ask Daddy to get you a snake just like Bree?"

Lauren rambled on, hoping to excite Yvette, but the little one only shook her head and nuzzled further into her arms, closing her eyes, still very much lifeless. But then she opened her eyes again.

"Do you want a snake?" Lauren couldn't help wondering if she was still missing her pet snake.

"Mommy, sleepy; can't fall asleep. I won't get better anymore, will I?" Yvette climbed up and wrapped her arms around Lauren, teary-eyed.

"I don't want to die, Mommy. I don't want to leave you! I want to be with you and Daddy forever..."

Her unexpecting words got Lauren instantly feeling somewhat defeated, tearing up unknowingly. But before she could say anything, Yvette's tiny hands touched her face.

"Don't cry, Mommy. Don't cry even when I'm gone, okay? I want to see Mommy's smile... You look very pretty when you smile! After I'm gone, Mommy and Daddy should get a baby brother. That way you won't miss me, and you won't be sad anymore! Don't cry, Mommy..."

Lauren had no idea where this little one learned all of it from, but her unexpecting words got Lauren even more distressed, wishing how she could be the one to bear all the pain instead of her baby girl. Giving Yvette a kiss, she then hugged her tightly.

"Why would you think like that? You're my sweet baby girl, Yvette; Mommy loves you the most! Your tummy is only hurting because you ate something bad. You'll recover very soon and will be able to play with Mommy and Daddy again if you eat your medicine! Don't be afraid, okay?"

"You're lying to me again, aren't you, Mommy? You never let me eat cake if it's not my birthday. You said I can only eat birthday cakes on my birthday. You also didn't like me to be with Dree, you never let me take

to

Bree with me everywhere... My friends from school said their Mommy would only say yes to everything when they get very, very sick and cannot get better. They won't scold them when they do something wrong and will even be very, very nice to them. They will also buy everything they usually won't buy for them..."

Shocked by Yvette's thoughts, Lauren was upset but at the same time heartbroken, looking at her pitiful little face.

There sure were two sides to every coin! Yvette had gotten much livelier after attending kindergarten, but she had also learned all the good and bad! Her baby girl had been led astray!

"You're a good girl, Yvette; you're different from other children. Mommy will never lie to you!"

"You're lying! You lied to me before. Daddy doesn't even know me, but you said he likes me! You must be lying to me again..."

Yvette suddenly got obstinate as she pouted. Lauren opened her mouth a few times, but she had no idea what to say at all.

Returning from a consultation with the doctor, Willy felt a growing lump in his throat as he watched the two from the door, only slowly walking in with a smile after knocking gently on the door.noveldrama

"You have to believe Mommy,

Yvette. She'll never lie to you! Of

et

course, I like you! You're my baby girl, Yvette, my whole world! I didn't recognize you because I got sick too. Just like you, I'll feel very, very awful when I'm sick. I felt so sick that I'd forgotten you. But I've recovered now, and I will never forget you ever again! And you won't feel pain or discomfort anymore after you recover. You'll be able to

go back to school and play with your friends again! You'll be all better

after you eat and rest!"

"Really? You won't lie to me, will you, Daddy?" Yvette blinked, clearly having a much closer relationship with her father now.

"Of course not! Come here, let Daddy carry you... I'll make a huge Bree appear if you eat and rest, deal?"

"Deal!"

Brilliance returned to Yvette's eyes as she wrapped her arms around Willy's neck. "Daddy, hurry up! I also want a lollipop, chocolate, and colorful

balloons!"

"Okay, anything you want!"

Willy circled a few rounds, comforting her, giving her the huge stuffed snake he got for her and finally coaxing her to eat her food and take her medicine before he texted his men to bring some lollipops and chocolate over.

With Willy and Lauren by her side, she had gotten over her dreadful mood very quickly. Soon, a doctor came to give her a shot, and the little one fell into a deep slumber after a short tantrum.

As Yvette's condition was still unstable, Willy and Lauren both felt quite uneasy. Seeing that Yvette had fallen asleep, Willy then forced Lauren to eat

a bit of something.

"Don't worry too much. Yvette's actually doing quite well; she's already showing signs of recovery. It's just that she's still little and doesn't have much tolerance; the doctors worry that she'll feel uncomfortable, so they didn't dare give her strong drugs. A bit of relapse is normal!"

Willy couldn't help lamenting as he held Lauren's hand tightly. "Laurie, we have a wonderful baby girl!"

It was said that a person's temperament would settle as early as when they were three years old. Willy had never been as content as he was right

then.

Yvette's sudden sickness pulled their little family tightly together. Lauren had never thought she was vulnerable, but her mind had been all over the place these past couple of days. For the first time, she felt lost and anxious, like she had lost her backbone as she leaned her head against Willy.

"Willy, let's never leave each other again. I'm horrified..."

"You'll never be alone again!"

Cloud left the elevator in a daze only to see the affectionate scene at the end of the corridor...
