Right then, Willy wished he could beat her up, much less sympathize with her.

It was said that the pathetic always acted insufferably. He only thought Cloud had it tough raising two kids on her own, but at that moment, he felt that she had it coming.

If she hadn't instilled particular thoughts into Dory or that she wanted to use her for some motive, how could a child who knew her father call some other man Daddy?

Take Yvette, for instance; she could barely even accept him when he had never been in her life until recently. It was understandable for Fleur as she was just a baby who knew nothing. But no way would Dory accept some man as her father so easily. Even if she initially had the idea, it wouldn't make sense if she still thought so when he had distant himself in the past three years!

Willy was so angry right then that his fists clenched so tightly they popped. However, he wasn't sure who he was mad at; Cloud or himself.

Just as things got into a stalemate, a soft, hoarse voice came. "Mommy..."

The tension broke instantly, and Willy kept his hostility right away. He turned around to see a tiny figure behind him, face pallid, rubbing her eyes.

"Yvette?"

Seeing that Yvette had woken up and even come out, Lauren rushed to her and picked her up. "Baby girl, why did you come out? How do you feel? Does your tummy still hurt?"

Shaking her head, Yvette hooked her arms around Lauren's neck and yawned. "Mommy..."

Then, the nurse who accompanied Yvette spoke up.

"She insisted on coming out, so I had no choice but to bring her out and have a look! A child will feel insecure and uneasy when their parents or anyone they know aren't by their side..."

Hearing that, Lauren shot Willy a somewhat disapproving look. No thanks to him. So be it that he had caused so many baffling troubles, he even came out himself!noveldrama

Thinking the same thing, Willy really wanted to kick himself. But he was filled with malevolence when he recalled someone cursing his sweet, adorable baby girl.

With that, he walked over to Lauren and took Yvette from her. "It's cold out here; let's go back in!"

After pulling Yvette's shirt down a little, Lauren intuitively reached out to block the wind for her.

"Willy, don't leave!"

"Willy, please, I beg you, go and see Dory..."

"Please spend some time with her!"

Fortunately, the nurse was good at reading subtle cues, and she extended her arms, stopping Cloud when she went forward. "Miss, this is a hospital. Please refrain from making a noise. Please don't go any further. Not everyone can step inside the VIP ward area!"

Soon, a doctor came to check on Yvette. With Lauren by her side, she was very cooperative. The doctor signed the report very quickly then instructed the nurse aside.

"Doctor?"

"Don't worry, Mr. Bowles. Her fever is slowly going down. We'll draw some blood and give her a full body checkup when her condition stabilizes tomorrow. She'll have to stay overnight for observation. Our

medical staff will be here, don

worry! Also, make sure she doesn't catch a cold or eat anything cold. The patch on her navel might get a little itchy. Please don't remove or scratch it. The nursing staff will come and check periodically. It will be removed when it should. This is very important!"

After explaining, the doctor took out a small bearshaped lightstick from her pocket.

As expected of a child, Yvette began tumbling around, causing mayhem in bed after her pain subsided.

"Yvette..." Holding the small bowl, Lauren felt at a loss, seeing Yvette pulling nearly all the doll's hair out, leaving the entire blanket covered with it. "Mm, no!"

Yvette turned around and covered her mouth, unwilling to eat no matter now, blinking piteously, shaking her head non-stop. "It's bitter! Mommy, I want to eat fried chicken, fries, coke, and..."

Looking at what she was gesturing,

Lauren had a good hunch she was referring to donuts. But she wasn't a fan of giving her child so many sweets and desserts. She had only let her have a taste of it twice in her short lifetime. She couldn't help wondering if children had a natural liking to these things; who would've thought she remembered it.

"Have some soup first, okay, Yvette? Your tummy will hurt again if you eat these things. Mommy and Daddy will take you to eat all that when you're okay to leave the hospital. Let's eat some veggies first, okay?"

Lauren put some carrots and alphabet pasta into the spoon to get her interested. But Yvette clearly didn't have an appetite, and she kept saying bitter', only playing with her pillow, refusing to eat at all, making Willy and Lauren worried yet sad.

"Mommy, where's my Marshmellow? My mermaid? My Poppy? I want to ride Sugar!"

Yvette's questions baffled Willy completely. "What is she talking about?"

"Pfft!" Lauren burst out laughing. "Names she gave her toys! I'll go back and bring her some of them later!"

Struck with inspiration, Willy said, "Give me a second!"

With that, he grabbed his phone and went out to make a call. A while later, he returned with a big sack. "Yvette, do you want to see a magic trick?"

He turned his hands as he spoke, and two mini balloons appeared in them all of a sudden, successfully catching all of Yvette's attention.
