Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1288

Hints of hostility suddenly burst from Cloud's lifeless eyes.

"Willy!"

Though Willy and Lauren came out for some fresh air, they didn't dare stay outside for too long. Hearing the commotion behind them just as they hugged, they paused and then frowned.

"Ignore her. Let's go back inside!"

After nudging Lauren inside, Willy locked the door shut. They returned to Yvette's bedside, keeping vigil like they had been all this while. Lauren shared the bed with Yvette while Willy rested on the empty bed aside.

Meanwhile, the bodyguards stopped Cloud from advancing as she screamed with incredulity out in the corridor. But they muffled her mouth after two screams and shoved her into the elevator, chucking her straight back to where the general wards were placed. The bodyguards didn't leave the elevator nor even blinked.

Cloud choked with sobs after falling onto the ground with a thud.

"Ah..."

Why did he treat her like this? He used to help her out so much; why abandon her now? Why won't he come and see her child? Her Dory was so sick that she couldn't even speak clearly anymore!

Why must the heavens be so cruel?!

It must be that woman. She must be the reason he became so heartless!noveldrama

Why were all men like this? Why did they always end up abandoning her for those lowly c*nts?! Especially when she needed care and help the most! Why?

Cloud was very much still muddle-headed when she got up like she was trapped in a thick fog, muttering as she walked, her gaze empty. "Why won't you care about my daughter? Aren't they both girls? Why is only mine sick? My Dory's sick? My Dory won't get better?"

"Why won't you come and see her?"

"Why is it another daughter? Why a daughter again?"

"B*tch, homewrecker, shameless c*nt... Ruin my family, steal my husband, steal my children's daddy, steal my..."

Lauren and Willy spent most of their time in the hospital in the following two days. Yvette was doing well herself; her condition stabilized after two patches despite still looking sluggish.

The couple took Yvette for another round of physical examinations that day, and the doctor finally gave the all-clear.

"She's okay now; she can be discharged today! Her constitution is quite good. If her condition maintains, I suggest you stop giving her medication. Just make sure she stays warm and get her to exercise more to build up her constitution. Bring her over as soon as you can if she clearly feels pain or has a high fever. Take note of her temperature for the next seven days. Everything's fine if she doesn't catch a fever..."

"Thank you, Doctor!"

Still a little worried, Lauren asked as she fixed Yvette's hair, carrying her in her arms. "Do we really not need to let her stay for another two days, Doctor? Why does she still look sluggish?"

She was so not her usually bubbly, lively baby girl!

"Haha, technically, no. But if you insist, she can very much still stay! Most medications contain sedative drugs, so the patient can get plenty of rest and speed up the recovery! There's a saying, illness comes like a tidal wave but leaves like molasses in January. There's still drug residue in her body, and it'll take some time for the body to flush it out. She'll be fine in a few days, don't worry! She's quite the fighter!"

Willy thanked the doctor before picking Yvette up. After leaving her office, they decided to stay a couple more days to put their minds to ease. They were clearly more at ease now that Yvette had recovered. "Now that Yvette's pretty much okay, I can take care of her myself. You should get going if you have work to do!"

His phone had been ringing off the hook in the past two days. Not only had he been bending over backward to comfort Yvette, but he also had to work overtime at night, barely having the time to rest. Lauren's heart ached, looking at his haggard face.

"It's fine; nothing's more important than Yvette! You also have dark circles now. We'll have a proper rest all together after we leave the hospital!" Affection filled their gaze as they locked eyes, showing solicitude for each other, slowing down unconsciously.

"Okay..." Nodding, Lauren was struck with a faint lament. "A saying suddenly hit me!"

"What is it?" "It seems that it's easier for two hearts to go through hardship together but difficult to share the riches!" Lately, they had experienced unprecedented exhaustion but at the same time gained unprecedented peace and harmony.

Stopping, Willy reached his hand out and pinched her cheek affectionately.

"You and your silly talk again! Don't tell me you're going to say something about rich idlers had it coming. Even if the possibility exists, it all boils down to one thing, no love! If there's love, two will stay together, be it in hardship or wealth! Do you know why many say the poor don't deserve love?"

"Huh?"

Lauren frowned, very much disagreeing with the saying. To her, love lived in cottages as well in court. Coming from him, she couldn't help having the misperception that she, Lauren Heady, wasn't good enough for Willy Bowles!

Willy didn't brush off her microexpression, explaining with a slight smile.

"Actually, the saying isn't

discriminating against the poor or dividing the love hierarchy. A man will never confess his love for a woman he truly loves when he's down and out and can't provide her with a bright future! He will fight and work hard instead of dragging her down to suffer with him! It only means one thing if he decided to do that; his love is lacking! So the first thing I'll probably tell Yvette when she's 18 is don't lightly date a poor guy! To me, it's not that two people have a hard time sharing riches but that a lot of them weren't the ones, to begin with!"

Willy took her hand and gave it a squeeze, wanting her to know he wasn't the ungrateful type she was talking about!

Smiling as they looked into each other's eyes, Lauren returned a squeeze as well. Just as they turned, wanting to continue walking, a ghost-like figure popped into their line of sight.

Cloud? Not her again!

She had been popping up in front of them like a ghost in the past two days. However, she barely made a sound these last few times.

Right as she was musing, her woeful voice came, "Her white blood cells have spread. Dory's leaving any minute..."

"Please go and see her! The doctor said she won't last until tomorrow..."

"Spread..."

The sudden dire news rendered Willy and Lauren flabbergasted, and they couldn't help feeling bad for this poor woman. Lauren stretched her arms

out as they exchanged a glance.

"You should go..."

She didn't feel good knowing a vulnerable life, a tender bud, would be withering. The child was ultimately innocent!
