Their Secret Obsession (A Reverse Harem)

Chapter 0330

Chase's POV

"Me?" I looked up at her, a faint smile playing on my lips as I laughed and shook my head. "I only agreed." Liam shot me a look filled with frustration that had my words stuck in my throat. "Agreed to what?" he demanded. "You don't even know what she's asking for!"

She reached out and ran her hand down to my chin, lifting it gently so our eyes met. Her touch was warm, almost electrifying, and I felt my usual defences crumbling under her gaze. "You agreed to whatever price I deem fit," she proclaimed, her voice soothing yet carrying an ominous undertone that sent a slight chill through me.

"I don't know what it is," I admitted honestly, holding her gaze. "But I will pay it, whatever it is."

"I believe you," she nodded, her eyes gleaming with a mix of pride and something else-something darker. "She is a lucky girl," she mused. "Your sister, to have a brother who would literally sacrifice himself for her. Unlike some." She laughed.

Her gaze shifted to Liam, and I sensed the tension rising in him. His jaw tightened, and I could tell through the brother's bond that a knot seemed to form in his stomach. I knew he was proud, and the implication that he wouldn't do the same for our sister probably stung. "But you will," she continued, her eyes never leaving Liam's. "I can see it."

"See what?" Liam laughed as if he doubted her powers.

"You have already suffered at the hands of darkness," she explained as she looked back at me, and my heart raced. "The same darkness that I have just removed from your friend. And yet you do not know who I am, whether I am worse than the evil you have fought, and still, you would willingly lay your life at my feet for her."

"Why?" She turned back to look at Knox, her eyes probing.

"Because she would do it for any one of us," I replied without hesitation.

"Yes, I believe she would," the woman smiled, releasing my face. There was a hint of satisfaction in her expression as if my answer had confirmed something she already knew about us.

"What is the cost?" I asked nervously, feeling my shoulders tense as the reality of my agreement began to sink in. She waved a hand dismissively.

"All in good time. For now, rest. You will need your strength for what lies ahead."

"Who are you?" Liam asked, shaking his head in disbelief. None of this made sense. We were in a place that defied explanation, dealing with a woman who wielded powers beyond comprehension. She paused, her eyes flickering with an emotion I couldn't quite decipher. Before she could respond, a weak voice broke the silence.

"Selene?" Knox stuttered, his eyes half-open as he looked at her.

A faint smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.

"Hello, Knox Maddox. And you are welcome." Without another word, she turned and exited the room, the grand doors closing silently behind her.

Liam and I stood there, the weight of the moment pressing down on us like a physical force. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to steady his racing thoughts.

"Selene?" he repeated softly. "As in... the moon goddess?"

"It would explain a lot." I nodded slowly.

Memories flooded my

mind-dreams that had haunted me

for months. Visions of a woman

who seemed less deity and more

Vel. Be

like one of us, a werewolf. In dreams, She was a comforting presence amid the chaos consuming our lives. When

Astaroth's threats loomed over us, When the deal I'd made weighed heavily on my soul, she was there. Her eyes held a warmth that eased the burden of Lottie's pain, Kane and Knox's suffering as they pretended to reject her to keep her safe.

But now, as I pieced it together, a chill ran down my spine. In those dreams, she always asked about Lottie-how.she was coping, how the babies were. At the time, it seemed like genuine concern, shared worry for someone we both cared about. But standing here, realising that the woman from my dreams and Selene were one and

the same, suspicion gnawed at me.

Had I unknowingly fed her

information that could harm my sister? The thought made my stomach twist. What if those dreams were more than just figments of my subconscious? What

gather intel, to manipulate events to her own ends?

"Why didn't you tell me you recognized her?" Liam demanded, turning to face me fully.

"I wasn't sure," I admitted. "I have seen her in my dreams so often of late. I thought I might be imagining things. Everything's been so surreal since we got here."

"So, you've just made a deal with a goddess without knowing the terms." He took a deep breath, his expression a mix of concern and exasperation.

"I'd do anything for Charlotte. You know that." I met his gaze steadily.

"Yeah, I know. I just hope it doesn't cost you more than you're willing to give." He sighed, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly.

We both turned our attention to Knox, who was now sleeping peacefully. The color had returned to his cheeks, and his breathing was steady. Relief washed over me, but it was tempered by the uncertainty of our situation. "At least he's okay," I remarked quietly.

"For now," Liam agreed. "But we need to figure out what's going on. Why are we here? And what does she want with us?"noveldrama

"One thing's for sure we're in deep." I shrugged, trying to mask my own apprehension.

"No kidding." He gave a short, humourless laugh.

Silence settled between us, heavy with unspoken fears and questions. The opulence of the room felt oppressive now, each ornate detail a reminder that we were far from home and out of our depth.

"Let's get some rest," Liam suggested finally. "We'll need all the strength we can get."

I nodded, casting one last glance at the closed doors before settling into a chair beside Knox's bed. The soft glow of the room's strange lights bathed everything in a warm hue, but it did little to soothe my unease.

As I leaned back, I couldn't shake the feeling that we were pawns in a much larger game a game orchestrated by gods and forces beyond our understanding. But for Charlotte and my family, I was willing to face it head-on. Whatever the cost.
