The Twin Alphas Warrior Luna (RYN)

Warrior 243

MIRO

Ryn, being pregnant, did something to me, and despite the fact that I was present, being led through the tunnels, my mind was far, far away, thinking up so many scenarios.

What if I find her dead? How will I cope? Can I possibly live without her? Or live with the fact that I would also be losing my unborn child?

I shook my head, sending silent prayers to the gods that such was not the case.

Theon was quiet beside me, but for the first time in forever, all his walls were down. I could feel raw, unfiltered fear mixed with anger, doubt, guilt and a little of hope churn and brew together like a bad potion in a witch’s pot.

“We’re going to find her alive, brother.” I mindlinked him but he did not react as if he heard me. Still, I know he did.

By the time we got out of the tunnel, I was glad Dominic had the vision to make peace with the Rogue Alpha because the amount of death traps we witnessed and were redirected from on our way out, was enough to truly wound us if not wipe us

out,

The exit of the tunnel led to a place in the middle of the woods and as the morning sun warmed my skin, my wolf grew restless. Suddenly, I felt the bond I had with Ryn grow stronger and utter relief flooded through me.

Praise be to the Goddess. She’s still alive!

I looked Theon’s way and saw his sharp, blue eyes scanning the forest while his nose sniffed the air. I did the same, but to my disappointment and panic, I couldn’t find Ryn’s scent.

“This is as far as I go.” The Rogue Alpha said as he stood at the entrance of the cave. “Good luck.”

Dominic gave a nod and together we followed the map out of the woods.

Since we all looked and smelled different and would easily stand out amongst the Southerners, we decided to come up a plan and that was to hijack some cars.

Luckily for us, the way out of the woods led to a residential neighbourhood where we found some cars sitting and, after targeting two, Dominic broke into one while Theon and I broke into another.

Soon we were on our way, following behind Dominic as we raced towards the venue where Ryn was being held.

It took us roughly half a precious hour to find the place, which was a deserted Temple in the middle of nowhere, close to the ocean, and as soon as we parked, we came face to face with about a dozen security men.

“I’ve got this,” Diana said, removing a long chained iron ball that had been attached to her waist since we landed. The ball landed on the cement ground with a dull thud and I had no idea what she did, but the ball suddenly had sharp blades and spikes sticking out of it. “Go, find my daughter.” She ordered, and as she moved forward, she began to swing the ball in wide circular motions.

“I’m with her too.” El said, pulling out two daggers from her waist pouch and coming to stand a few feet from Diana.

Dominic hesitated for a moment, but nodded and as Diana went for the security men, first slicing through a man’s skull before sending her weapon punching through a man’s heart, Dominic, Theon and I, went around the chaos and entered the temple.

The moment we entered, we sound the sound of an alarm as if something bad had happened. Could it be Ryn?

I sniffed the air.

Here, I could perceive Ryn’s scent, strong but mixed with the tangy smell of blood. My heart rate spiked as I imagined her wounded. Of course, my mate would not have allowed herself to be taken without a fight, but how deep is her wound?

How much did she bleed for me to smell this much blood?

I shared a glance with Theon, whose blue eyes burned with quiet, simmering rage.

The Temple was quiet and empty and as we made our way down the aisle, I primed my ears for any kind of sound. That’s when I heard the faint sound of someone’s voice.

Someone yelling.

Before I could call Theon’s attention to it, the Temple suddenly became filled with men, ready to attack.

Without hesitation, Theon brought out his sword, I brought out my gun and so did Dominic.

“You’re about to face the King of the North, The King of the West and the best damn Commander in all Kingdoms,” Dominic said to them in a calm voice, “is the pay really worth it?”

Some men shared nervous glances before some of them stumbled backwards and ran out.

Dominic turned to the rest. “I’ll ask once.” He clicked off the safety of his gun. “Where is Ryn?”

Instead of an answer, the men cried out before lunging at us at once.

Theon was the first to act, impaling three people at once with his sword while Dominic and I emptied our bullets into our assailants. Within minutes, they were all dead, except for one person who struggled to crawl away.

He had a bullet hole in his hand and it was on this that I stepped on, earning a cry of pain from him.

“Where is my mate?” I asked, and he looked up at me bitterly, panting hard.

“Kill me already! I know that’s what you’d eventually do!”

I pressed down harder, eliciting another cry and even a twitch in his body. “Yes, you’re going to die but you get the option to go out quick and painless or to suffer so bad that when the Moon Goddess tries to re–incarnate you, you’d rather stay in the depths of hell than come back. Which do you prefer?”

The man seemed to think about it.

“Last I heard, she escaped from the torture chamber and ran towards the lab.”

My heart raced some more.

“You tortured her?!” Theon snarled, stepping forward.

“Not me!” The man screamed. “It was Tommy! But he’s dead!”

“Where is the lab?” I queried.

“A warehouse not far from here.” The man answered. “Go out the door to the left, you’ll see it. Security was sent to apprehend her, but that’s all I know. I swear!”

Believing him, I reloaded my gun and, with one look in his eyes, I sent a shot through his forehead. noveldrama

His death was instant.

We were about to go out the door when we heard a sound and decided to go down a hallway instead.

09:35 Wed, 19 Mar A.

That’s when we found Mr. Caine sitting with his back against the wall, his head was hung low but I didn’t hear his heartbeat which meant he was dead.

Suddenly, someone stumbled out of a room ahead and it turned out to be Mr. Caine’s wife, Howard, with his blood–coated brother leaning against him. Konan’s was missing an arm, and he looked half dead, as he took in shallow breaths.

In the woman’s hand was a bag, and from the partly open zipper, I could see diamonds and precious stones in it, along with some cash.

Immediately, they sighted us, they began to rush away.

“Hey!” I yelled, reaching them in the blink of an eye. I gripped Mrs. Caine by the collar, pushing her against the wall. “What the fuck happened here?!”

“I–I don’t know anything!” She stuttered. “All I know is that Cresswell helped Ryn escape with Sadie and he attacked my husband and son and killed him.” She burst into tears. “I–I just want to get out of here and get help for my son. I promise you will not see us again!”

I took a step back, hearing her heart go wild with fear. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to let them go.

Moving on, we found the exit and when I saw the doors off their hinges, and small fires burning in the distance, sending black smoke into the air, I just knew my baby girl put up one hell of a fight.

In the distance, a girl’s voice rising in panic.

“Open this door, Ryn! I know you’re in there!”

We all looked at each other before rushing to the scene. There, we found Adam, naked and staring unblinking at the sky. Half his face was gone and his body lay amidst several others.

Then I found Sadie, standing next to her father, banging on a door. Her clothes were bloodstained and her father was just as worse. Sensing us, they turned around and when Sadie saw us, she ran our way.

“Thank the Goddess, you’re here!” She said, hugging both Theon and I at the same time.

“Where’s Ryn?!” Theon demanded, and Sadie seemed like she would cry.

“She went into the lab and I’m afraid she’s going to do something crazy.”

“Crazy like what?‘ Dominic pressed.

“She took bombs in there. She told me Mr. Blackwell had created an army of soldiers that are five times worse than a mutant. They were supposed to be awakened soon, and Ryn said she can’t have that on her conscience. So she went in there to blow up the place and face Mr. Blackwell.”

“All by herself?” I asked, my heart pumping harder to the point of pain.

“Yes.” Sadie said.

“We need to get in there as soon as possible.” Mr. Cresswell said. “I can guarantee that Ryn cannot beat Mr. Blackwell.”

“Why?” Theon asked, and there was no arrogance in his question.

Mr. Cresswell’s eyes softened with something I could call regret. “I personally enhanced both Robert and your father. Ryn is not going in there to face an ordinary Lycan. She is going in there to face the ultimate monster.”
