The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 582

Jerome gazed at Matthew intensely. "Word has it that someone wants to get these medicines covered under the health insurance plan. Basically, that means these medicines might resurface in the hospital.

"If these meds get into the hospital, it'll be the end of other similar meds. So, we can't allow them to be produced."

As Matthew kept listening, he was more and more shocked. These people were out of their minds. They only thought about making a profit with the meds instead of curing the illness.

All they looked into was making a profit. To make matters worse, they resorted to any means necessary, even straight-up stealing the formula.

Seeing Matthew's expression darkened, Jerome coaxed with a smile, "I've filled you in on the whole story, Dr. Grant. I really hope you'll drop the idea of getting the formula back."

Matthew scoffed. "What if I decide not to back down?"

Jerome's expression turned solemn. "Just a heads up. An important person is coming over. He's not going to be as nice as I am.

"If you're set on getting the formula back, you might not make it out of this room. Worse yet, Wealthwave Group might get kicked out of Lambda City. You'd better think it through."

Matthew coldly replied, "It might not necessarily be me who can't make it out of here in one piece."

This fool... Jerome frowned. "Don't take this the wrong way. You're just a doctor with no power or influence. The person showing up is a big shot. He can easily kick you out of Lambda City with his word."

The sound of footsteps came from outside at that moment.

Jerome hurriedly warned Matthew, "Keep my words in mind, Dr. Grant. You can't take on the person who's coming soon. When he gets here, don't bring up the formula at all."

Just as Jerome wrapped up his sentence, a man in his 40s opened the door and stepped into the room. He sported a white shirt and gold-rimmed glasses, exuding an air of authority.

Seeing the newcomer, Jerome enthusiastically walked up to him. "You're finally here, boss."

The newcomer snorted. "You're useless. Can't you just send him away? If you can't, just have him cuffed and taken away. How hard is that?"

Standing up, Matthew turned to the newcomer and asked, "Are you planning to haul me off in handcuffs?"

The newcomer was taken aback when he spotted Matthew, looking like he'd seen a ghost.

Noticing Matthew's harsh tone, Jerome panicked and jumped in to caution Matthew. "What's with your tone, Dr Grant? He's Mr. Lancaster, the deputy mayor of Lambda City.

Apologize to him right awayov

Standing beside them, Wyatt snapped, "Do you even who you're dealing with, Matthew? How can you talk like that? Apologize now!"

Was Wyatt expecting an apology? Matthew's expression turned grim and was ready to retort.

Levi Lancaster leaned forward. "I'm really sorry. I messed up this time. I didn't realize it was Mr. Grant looking for the formula. This is all on me thumbly apologize to you. Please forgive me."

Levi felt a buzzing in his head. The last time he did a favor for Isaac, Matthew slapped him so hard that he lost two teeth.

Cedric had people snooping into Levi's past. If it weren't for the prominent figures backing him, he'd be behind bars already.

Next to them, Wyatt and Jerome gaped at Matthew with their eyes wide open, as if their eyes were going to pop out of their eye sockets.

Levi was the deputy mayor of Lambda City. What he said went in the city. A simple stomp from him could turn the city upside down.

Despite that, when Levi came across Matthew, he actually pleaded innocent and apologized. If Wyatt and Jerome hadn't seen it with their own eyes, they wouldn't have believed it.

A loud slap landed on Levi's face. Levi stumbled back a few steps and only steadied himself by leaning against the wall. He held his face and sighed, thinking

to himself, "There it is."noveldrama

With his hand on his face, Levi

apologized in fear. "I made a

mistake. I swear I didn't know it was

I

you, Mr. Grant. I got the word that

you left Wealthwave Group, so¶

thought you had nothing to do with them anymore-"

Matthew sternly warned, "If you don't want to get slapped again, just hand over the formula."

Levi backed up a few steps. He only stopped in his tracks when he felt safe from Matthew's threat. "I'm not keeping it from you. The formula isn't in my hands."

He was still not giving it, huh? With a cold look, Matthew picked up a chair nearby and slowly walked toward Levi, raising the chair as he approached.

He looked like he was about to smash the chair on Levi as he snapped, "Do you have a death wish?"

Wyatt and Jerome watched the scene unfold in shock. Was Matthew really going to attack Levi? Did he go nuts?

Looking terrified and pale, Levi backed away and said, "I might just be a deputy mayor, but I'm still a mayor. What do you want? Are you really going to kill me?"

Matthew coldly remarked, "You're just like Isaac. He didn't think I'd actually have the guts to do it before he kicked the bucket."
