The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 574

Annika saw it when Matthew was stopped outside. She even sized him up, noticing he was young and dressed casually. She couldn't help but frown as he didn't look like he did well in life.

She figured that without Lance, Matthew wouldn't even get to enter Arcadia. But since Lance said so, Annika had to keep up appearances.

She hooked her arms around Matthew's as they headed inside. "Aren't you a doctor, Mr. Grant? That's awesome. Can you do a checkup for me?"

Matthew raised an eyebrow and hummed in acknowledgment. Then, he turned to Lance and said, "I still have a small business to attend to, so let's reschedule. We can catch up over drinks some other time."

Lance held Matthew's hand. "You've got to give me a chance to raise a glass to you, Dr. Grant."

Seeing how sincere Lance was, Matthew agreed. "Alright. Let's have a drink sometime then."

As they chatted, they made their way to the sixth floor.

After entering a private room, Lance added with a grin, "Why don't you sit for a bit, Dr. Grant? I'll go get a nice bottle of wine. I can't bring out anything ordinary for someone like you. Just hang on. I'll be back soon."

With that, Lance left Annika to accompany Matthew as he quickly left.

Feeling impatient, Matthew had the urge to get up and leave to confront Wyatt. But seeing how enthusiastic Lance was, Matthew felt bad about just walking away.

Annika seemed to sense Matthew's intention. She giggled and held out her hand. "Would you mind giving me a check-up, Dr. Grant?"

As she spoke, she put her delicate hand on Matthew's palm and playfully traced her finger on it.

Matthew chuckled. He rested his fingers on Annika's wrist as he shut his eyes and calmly monitored her pulse.

Annika saw how serious Matthew was with the examination instead of taking advantage of her. She chuckled.

"I just got my health checked, and everything's fine."

Matthew fixed his gaze on Annika's face for a long while, and his expression started to look bewildered.

Annika felt even more disdainful. She knew she was attractive, but it was the first time she met a man who couldn't take his eyes off her. Worse yet, he was only watching and wasn't brave enough to make a move.

It only pointed to the fact that Matthew wasn't rich. Money gave men confidence, and wealthy men were often bold. So, he was merely a broke coward.

Annika couldn't help but point out, "We're at Arcadia. The women here aren't just for ogling.

She made her living at Arcadia by earning tips, and the minimum tip for physical contact started at one thousand dollars. If things escalated further, it'd be at least 5,000 dollars.

She didn't want to be stuck wasting time without earning a single penny, so she decided to give Matthew a nudge.

Matthew let go of Annika's delicate

hand. "Your nails are pale. You don't have dreamy eyes or arched eyebrows. I don't see freckles on

your cheeks, and your cheekbones aren't prominent either. You have thin sideburns and not much hair, whereas your lips... Overall, you don't have much lust.

"It's not as much as you show right now. If you want to earn a living through this way, your physique isn't compatible with that."

Annika was taken aback. She

couldn't believe Matthew was serious about examining her body. Matthew was spot on. Every time she got a job, she always struggled to force a smile and act seductively. Deep down, she felt disgusted. For her, every gig was a painful experience.

She used to believe that money didn't come easy and that facing some struggles

was just part of it. Why didn't hustle for their money?

But the reality was different from what she thought. Some of her friends made money and really enjoyed it. She always suspected something was wrong with her body.

She finally realized it. It turned out that her body wasn't suited to this kind of job. Annika subconsciously asked, "Anything else show up in the checkup?"

Matthew continued, "Your body has other problems as well. Your kidneys are pretty weak. If I'm right, you always wake up with a puffy face, and you can't sleep on a sofa bed or your back starts to hurt.noveldrama

"You often doze off, feeling exhausted and drained every day. Even if you want to

sleep, you just can't seem to fall asleep in bed.

"You regularly find yourself being parched. Even after drinking some water, you get thirsty again pretty quickly and have a hard time sweating.

"Your body is often dehydrated. I'm not just talking about drinking water, but your body doesn't produce enough moisture, leaving you with a dry mouth...

"To put it simply, it's tormenting. You get me, right?"

Annika was blown away. She was aware of some of the things Matthew had mentioned, but there were others she had no clue about.

After he finished speaking, she mulled it over and found that everything lined up perfectly. Matthew knew her body better than she did.

"Can it be treated?"
