Chapter 302 Test Report

"Meet? Hayden, what are you thinking? We won't meet again.

"From now on, you go your way, and I'll go mine. When I was lying in the hospital bed like a dead person, you didn't think of us as a couple!

"And also, I forbid you from mentioning Emily again. She is no longer your daughter. From now on, you only have Sophia as your daughter. If you keep pestering Emily, I don't mind changing her last name to Taylor."

After saying this, Isabella didn't hear Hayden's immediate response.

Instead, she heard Evelyn's shouting and Sophia's crying on the other end of the phone, along with some scattered pleading.

Hearing this, Isabella couldn't be bothered with their mess and hung up the phone directly.

Unexpectedly, her own troubles came as well.

She saw the house cleaner coming downstairs with a bag of trash. Isabella admired her quick and efficient work. Just as she was about to thank her, a piece of paper fell out of the trash bag.

Isabella stepped forward to help pick it up and took a look at it.

What she saw made her face darken even more.

"Ms. Taylor, what's wrong?" The house cleaner quickly stepped forward to ask, trying to take the paper.

Isabella quickly stepped back a few paces. "Nothing, you go take out the trash. You can leave after that."

The house cleaner didn't know why Isabella was acting this way.

But knowing that she was backed by the Smith family and lived near Emerald Lake Manor, she didn't dare waste time and obediently did as she was told, leaving the house.

In the sudden quiet, Isabella came back to her senses.

She picked up the test report again, her hands trembling as she gently unfolded it. Seeing the name and test results on it, Isabella's expression froze, and she fell into deep thought, unable to snap out of it for a long time.

After that, Isabella went out.

She was still wrapped in her plush shawl. It was fine in the warm house, but as soon as she stepped outside, the cold wind hit her face, turning her cheeks red and bringing tears to her eyes.

But she couldn't care about that now.

Emily was pregnant, and she had just found out by accident.

Isabella could hardly believe it. She had been in the hospital for so long; how much

more had Emily suffered during that time?

Whose child was she carrying?

Why hadn't she told her?

Thinking about this, Isabella quickened her pace and arrived at Abigail's door, knocking.

Abigail quickly came to the door. She was cooking and was pleasantly surprised to see Isabella. "Ms. Taylor, what brings you here? I was just cooking. Would you like to come in and try my cooking? With Emily not here, I can only..."noveldrama

Before Abigail could finish, tears welled up in Isabella's eyes and she said excitedly. "Abigail, is this true?"

Abigail was momentarily stunned.

Her lips parted, just about to respond, when Isabella thrust the report in front of her.

It was Emily's pregnancy report.

"Ms. Taylor, you already know." Abigail felt guilty.

Hearing this, Isabella felt a buzzing in her head, her thoughts coming to a complete halt.

"You mean... you knew all along? Yeah, you're Emily's best friend. You must have known. Otherwise... what would my poor daughter do? Why didn't Emily tell me? "Whose child is it? How many months pregnant is she? What is going on?" Isabella asked.

Seeing Isabella's emotional state and the undeniable evidence of the report, Abigail knew she had to tell the truth.

With no other choice, Abigail invited Isabella inside, poured her a glass of water, and slowly explained everything.

Isabella's heart was pounding, but hearing Abigail say the child was Michael's, she felt a wave of relief, though her heart ached even more for Emily.

"Emily didn't want to tell Michael because he doesn't love her. She didn't want the child to suffer the same coldness she did. So, she planned to have the baby in secret and then leave with you and the child."

"Ms. Taylor, I know because Emily couldn't hide it from me. She was too lonely and needed someone to take care of her. But don't worry, she didn't mean to keep it from you. She just didn't want you to worry."

Hearing this, Isabella's heart ached even more.

She could hardly imagine what Emily had been through all this time.

Leaving Abigail's house, Isabella called Emily.

At that moment, Emily was having dinner with Michael and Daniel. She rushed to her room to answer the phone, only to be met with a scolding.

But Isabella wasn't scolding Emily; she was blaming herself for being irresponsible. Hearing Isabella's tearful and self-blaming voice on the other end of the phone, Emily's lips parted, wanting to respond, but she found herself unable to speak.

She felt frozen, unable to move, her face stiffening.

"Mom..." After a long while, Emily finally spoke.

Isabella said, "I really don't deserve to be your mother, Emily. How could you take on everything yourself?

"It's my fault. I should have noticed. How could I let you suffer so much?

"Is your stomach feeling okay? Are you coming back tomorrow? You must come back safe and sound. I'll be waiting at home with a good meal for you, okay?"

Finally feeling her mother's care and concern, Emily felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction.

"Mom, how did you know I was coming back tomorrow?"

"I called Michael. You haven't been answering your phone lately, and when you do, you hang up quickly. I was worried about you. Now I know I didn't care enough. I didn't even know I was going to be a grandmother!" Isabella kept blaming herself.

Emily was amused by her mother's carefulness, tears streaming down her face, mixing with the cold on her cheeks, but her heart felt warm.

"Alright, Mom, I'm really fine. Your..." Just as she was about to mention "grandchild," Emily heard the balcony door open.

Everything in Kieran's pharmacy was made of wood, so the noise was loud and easily noticeable.

Fearing it was Michael, Emily lowered her voice and changed the subject. "Mom, we're all fine. Everything is fine."
