Chapter 278 Falsely Accused of Being a Quack Doctor
Sawyer gave a nod. He'd been with the Carter family for ages and would never turn his back on them.
Alexander trusted Sawyer; he just needed to figure out who was gunning for the Carters.
Allison thought for a sec and jotted down some meds for Sawyer. "Sawyer, take this list to the family doc and tell him Aiden needs to switch his regular meds. Just follow the usual routine and don't mention anything else."
Sawyer nodded and headed to the hospital with the list.
Allison handed a pill bottle to Alexander. "You should hit the hospital too and have Henry check these out. I need to see Joe; he's got something to talk about."
Alexander nodded. They both hopped into a car and took off. Allison went to Stellar University. Joe had called her, saying he needed to chat, so she came with her backpack.noveldrama
When she got to the faculty office, it was packed.
"Allison, over here!" Joe waved her over, and Allison quickly walked to him. "Joe, I'm here!"
Joe nodded and patted the seat next to him. "Sit here."
Allison smiled and sat down, noticing the intense stares from several university bigwigs across the table.
Joe said, "These are the deans of the medical school and the vice deans of surgery and clinical studies. Our medical school wants to push traditional medicine, so we're planning a project that mixes traditional and modern medicine. Henry's too swamped with clinical work to teach, so we want you to give it a shot and do some live teaching."
Allison scratched her head. "When you say live teaching, you mean..."
Joe explained, "We want everyone to get a taste of traditional medicine firsthand. The course won't follow the usual methods. You can decide what to include in the curriculum."
Allison felt a bit awkward. It wasn't that she couldn't handle the job, but at her age, teaching seemed impossible.
Allison said, "Joe, the med students are all older than me. I'm only eighteen. Is it cool for me to teach them?"
Before Joe could respond, the vice dean of surgery chimed in. "Of course, it's cool! Dr. Bennett, you don't know this, but your surgical cases are already study models at the school. No one at Stellar University has reached your level yet! Especially your massage therapy; many med students would be super interested."
Allison thought it over. Teaching wasn't out of the question, but she'd need to rearrange her schedule. "I'll think about it."
"Great, we'll be waiting for Dr. Bennett's class!" Joe was more satisfied with Allison than any other student, but Allison's mind was already buzzing with new ideas. "Joe, I can teach, but you can't give me strict guidelines on what to cover. Also, I want to split the course equally between traditional and modern medicine."
Joe said, "No problem, as long as you agree to teach, you can do it however you want!"
Allison nodded and reviewed a few medical records with Joe before leaving to find Sabrina.
Meanwhile, Alexander was at the hospital. He showed the meds to Henry, who identified them. "Thalidomide. It's a cancer treatment drug, usually for multiple myeloma, and must be used with other meds. Taking it wrong can cause cancer."Alexander's face darkened, but to be sure, Henry took the meds for further analysis. Alexander didn't wait for the results and headed straight to the outpatient clinic.
In Herbert's office, Sawyer handed over the medication list, making Herbert nervous. "Who prescribed this?"

Sawyer replied calmly, "It was Ms. Bennett, Mr. Alexander Carter's fiancée. She said Mr. Aiden Carter's regular meds should be adjusted and sent me to get these."
Allison's prescription was fine, but changing it was out of the question.
Herbert explained, "Sawyer, it's not that I don't want to change it, but Mr. Carter has been taking my prescribed meds for years without any issues. Changing it suddenly isn't appropriate. The previous meds worked well, so just get them from the pharmacy."
Sawyer didn't argue and obediently took the list to the pharmacy. As soon as he got the meds, Alexander snatched the plastic bag from his hand.
Alexander inspected the contents carefully. Besides the usual meds, there was also the problematic drug.
Sawyer said, "Mr. Alexander Carter, Mr. Faith has served the Carter family for over a decade. Mr. Aiden Carter even helped him get into the hospital. Now..."
Alexander and Sawyer sat in the car. Alexander glanced at the hospital and said to Sawyer, "Go home as if nothing happened. Aiden can't take this medication anymore. I'll investigate Mr. Faith."
Sawyer drove away, and Alexander went straight to the hospital pharmacy, copying all the data before calling Allison. "The medication is problematic. I need to see you." Allison was about to find Sabrina when a post suddenly appeared on the school forum, accusing Stellar University students of experimenting on a live person, causing paralysis. The post included photos of Allison performing massage therapy on Mabel. Sabrina was in class when she heard the gossip. She checked her phone, packed up, and headed to the cafeteria.

Sabrina asked, "Orion, what's going on? What happened to Mabel?"
As soon as she entered the cafeteria, Sabrina was surrounded. "It's her! She's the one who made Mabel unable to walk!"
Sabrina frowned. What did they mean by unable to walk? She tried to approach but was pushed away. "You've done enough harm to Mabel. This is attempted murder. We're calling the police!"
"Then call the police. Any questions can be handled by them." Allison stood at the entrance, hands in her pockets, with a backpack on her shoulders. Sabrina saw her and
ran over.
"Allison, they're saying Mabel can't get up. What do we do?" Sabrina's eyes were red with worry, almost in tears. Allison gently pinched her cheek to comfort her. "Go find Orion."
Sabrina nodded and went to get Orion, who burst into tears when he saw Allison.
Orion said, "Dr. Bennett, my wife isn't doing well. Did you use the wrong treatment? Why is she getting worse?"
Allison looked at him calmly and asked, "Are Mabel's legs turning black, with veins popping out and looking scary?"
Orion nodded. "Yes, exactly like that!"
Allison said, "Don't worry, I can fix it. I'll arrange a place. You carry Mabel and follow me."
Orion nodded and was about to leave when someone stopped him. "Orion, how can
you still trust this quack? She's using you as a guinea pig. You should call the police!" "Yes, call the police!"
What do you think?
