Chapter 277 The Medication Is Problematic
Allison woke up and realized she was in Alexander's bed.
"How did I end up here?" she asked, still groggy.
Alexander chuckled and kissed her forehead. "Take a wild guess."
Allison playfully pushed him away, but he pulled her back and kissed her on the lips.
"I don't want to be apart from you anymore. How about we move in together?" he asked, his eyes full of hope.
Allison raised an eyebrow, surprised by his boldness. "So you snuck me into your room last night? Alexander, you're something else!"
Alexander laughed and got up, scooping Allison into his arms and carrying her to the bathroom to freshen up. When they went downstairs, Teddy was still getting an earful from Aiden.
Aiden scolded, "You're old enough to bring a woman home, but you can't even
manage that! And on top of it all, you drank my wine! I wonder what kind of wife you'll end up with!"
Teddy rubbed his head, feeling a headache coming. "Grandpa, I've told you a million times, it wasn't me who opened the bottle. It was Alexander! Stop blaming me!"
Aiden raised his cane to hit Teddy again, but Teddy quickly jumped off the couch and ran towards Allison. "Allison, help!"
Alexander sighed, feeling the urge to kick Teddy out for being so useless. Allison looked at Alexander. "Did you drink with Teddy last night?"
Alexander nodded, looking completely unbothered. "Aiden's wine is all bought by me. I can drink it without any issues, but if Teddy drinks it, he gets scolded."
Allison shook her head, wondering what kind of life Teddy had been living in the Carter family.
Seeing Allison, Aiden quickly put away his cane and smiled. "Allison, you're up! Breakfast is ready."
Allison nodded and walked over to Aiden. "Did you check your blood sugar this morning?"
Aiden smiled awkwardly, and the butler, Sawyer Kate, chimed in with a laugh. "Yes, we did. His fasting blood sugar was a bit high."
Allison nodded. "I've noticed Aiden's been eating a lot of carbs lately. Cut back on them, halve the main courses, no more greasy food. Add more vegetables."
Aiden, who hated vegetables, looked upset. "Allison, it's just a little high. It can't be that serious, right?"
Allison glanced at the bread on the table. "How much bread did you eat this morning?"
Aiden thought for a moment. "Not much, just a few slices."
Allison sighed and had Sawyer bring the blood glucose meter. The post-meal blood sugar was alarmingly high, even Sawyer was shocked. "How is it this high? This isn't good, especially since he's on medication!"
Alexander's expression turned serious as he looked at Aiden. "Dad, you're not listening again. Your blood sugar is high, and you still eat so much bread. From now on, strictly follow Allison's diet plan. If you don't, I'll send you to a nursing home!"
Aiden glared at Alexander, feeling betrayed.

Allison smiled wryly. "It's not as bad as you think. Just watch your diet, and it'll be fine. I'll give Aiden an insulin shot now, and we'll adjust his diet and medication to control his blood sugar."Sawyer nodded respectfully. "Don't worry, Ms. Bennett. I'll make sure Mr. Carter doesn't sneak any more food."
"You..." Aiden started to grumble but stopped when Alexander gave him a stern look. Teddy, amused by the scene, went to the table to eat breakfast. Allison gave Aiden his insulin shot and asked Sawyer to bring his usual medications.
Sawyer went to get the meds, and Allison joined Teddy for breakfast. Seeing Teddy's disheveled appearance, Alexander frowned in frustration.
"Go upstairs and get some sleep. Dwight wants you to do a presentation tomorrow. Call me when you wake up," Allison instructed.
"Okay, Allison!" Teddy obediently went upstairs to sleep, and Aiden looked at Allison with more affection. "Allison, you're amazing! Teddy only listens to you."
Allison nodded. "Back in the lab, he got scolded the most, so he knows what happens if he doesn't listen."
Teddy, climbing the stairs, almost slipped, making Alexander chuckle.
"What did you do to make him so afraid of you?" Alexander asked, curious.
Allison ate her bread and replied, "We were working on a stabilizer for an aircraft. Teddy said he was afraid of heights, so I helped him overcome it."
It sounded dubious, but Alexander and Aiden were intrigued. Allison continued, "It wasn't that hard. I had Cleo fly a helicopter and dangled Teddy in the air all night. By morning, he wasn't afraid anymore."

Sawyer, carrying a tray of medications, dropped it in shock. Teddy's scream echoed from upstairs. "Allison, you're a monster!"
Alexander and Aiden laughed. Being dangled from a helicopter all night and surviving was indeed a miracle for Teddy.
Allison laughed too and helped Sawyer pick up the fallen medication bottles. She suddenly picked up one bottle and frowned.noveldrama
She asked Sawyer, "How long has Aiden been taking this? Who prescribed it?"
Sawyer was taken aback and quickly replied, "Mr. Faith from the hospital prescribed it. He's been the Carter family's doctor for almost twenty years. Mr. Carter has been taking this for about six months."
Six months? Allison clenched the bottle, her expression turning serious.
Alexander hurried over. "What's wrong?"
"The medication is problematic," Allison said, making Alexander tense up. "Is it poisonous?"
Allison shook her head. "It's almost as bad. It can cause cancer, and the risk is high. If Aiden has been taking it for six months, he needs a blood test immediately." Alexander felt a chill down his spine and glared at Sawyer, who fell to the ground in fear. "Mr. Carter, I... I didn't know. I really didn't know!"
"Are you sure Herbert Faith prescribed this?" Alexander asked.
Sawyer nodded. "I'm sure. I always get Mr. Aiden Carter's prescriptions from Mr. Faith and pick up the medication myself. No one else handles it. Mr. Alexander Carter, I had no idea this could cause cancer. I swear!"
Sawyer was on the verge of tears. Allison patted his shoulder to calm him down. "Sawyer, don't worry. Alexander isn't accusing you. We just need you to think carefully about the process. Where could someone have tampered with the medication?"
What do you think?
