"You're more important to me than Mom and Dad, Nana. You can definitely live a long life. Don't you want a great-granddaughter? With the nine of us, you'll have nine granddaughters-in-law in the future. Surely, there'll be one from us nine.

"You have to hold your great-granddaughter, raise her, and choose good in-laws for her."

Grandma May laughed. "I want to ask for an extra five hundred years of life as well, but let's be realistic.

"I'll be content with seeing my great-granddaughter born. How can I possibly wish to live until the day she gets married?"

No matter how healthy, she was already eighty years old.

Meanwhile, her great-granddaughter was still nowhere in sight.

Grandma May said, "I was just teasing you. Didn't I say that I'd accept another girl aside from the one I chose as long as she had good character and values? The problem is whether you know her identity.

"It's been some time, yet you don't even know her name or origins."

Dylan looked embarrassed.

"I'm useless."

He said sheepishly, "I wanted to get Josh to investigate this for me, but he said he couldn't be bothered. I guess he'll help Zachary anytime, but not me."

"He's Zachary's best friend, not yours."

Grandma May thought Josh's refusal was not wrong; Josh owed Dylan nothing.

Dylan was not Josh's colleague as he did not work in York Corporation, nor was there a friendship between them. Josh could choose to help or not, and it would not be wrong either way.

“Are you counting on Josh to help you with this?" Grandma May asked.

Dylan's blush turned deeper.

He wanted to say something yet had no words for a retort. In the end, he simply took a bite of his lamb skewer.

"I'll give you and Imogen two or three more months. If you still can't fall in love with her by then, you should come clean. However, don't cry when you regret it in the future and want her back."

Grandma May laughed. "I haven't seen anyone wanting a girl back in the family. While Zachary and Serenity did fight before, they made up very quickly. It was short and not intense enough. I need to see more of it.

"For my sake, do you want to play the role of a miserable husband pleading for his wife's return?"

Dylan said, "I'm certain I don't love Imogen, Nana. If I try things out with her for a few more months, her feelings for me will only get deeper. If that happens, I'll be hurting her more.noveldrama

"Although I don't love her, I don't want to hurt her. She's a nice girl. I hope she can find someone more suitable for her than me."

Dylan was firm about his feelings.

If he could not fall in love with Imogen now, it would never happen then.

"Didn't Imogen want to fight fair and square? Are you going to deny her the opportunity?"

Grandma May frowned. "She's a great girl. If I were a man, I'd fall in love with her."

Dylan said with a serious tone, "Nana, a fair competition can only happen when one is undecided about their feelings. No matter how much she does for me and loves me, I'll never be attracted to her when I already have someone else I want.

"Even with a fair competition, Imogen will only end up hurting.

"It's better to give her a quick blow than draw out her pain. Making her give up right now will minimize the pain she'll feel later."
