Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 832

Chapter 832:

Lena’s eyes flicked back to Verruckt, and she started trying to win his favor. “Mr. Shaw, how about I take care of your wound for you?” she offered.

“There’s no need,” Verruckt replied bluntly. “You can help Jareth instead. He’s already had a painkiller.”

Lena hesitated, clearly disappointed. “Understood,” she muttered.

Jareth, hearing his name, instinctively reached for his injury. It crossed his mind that his boss had gotten a little softer since falling for someone.

Without waiting, Verruckt turned and strode over to Allison.

“Alice, hold the first aid kit properly this time. Don’t fumble it like you did before,” he said flatly.

Allison stared at him, momentarily speechless. She thought he was way too harsh. Did he always treat everyone like this?

Ever since they met, she didn’t remember him ever saying anything nice.

Still, Allison followed him quietly to his private office.

Once they were gone, Judith grabbed a medical kit from the cabinet and smirked at Lena. “Stop staring. Mr. Shaw literally said you’re filthy.”

“Mind your own business! Just shut up!” Lena shot back angrily.noveldrama

“Everything we’ve got is because of Mr. Shaw. So what if I’m a little filthy? Alice is worse than me anyway!” Lena huffed.

“Oh, really? Funny how Mr. Shaw didn’t mind holding her hand, though,” Judith said, rolling her eyes before turning her attention to Jareth’s injury.

As she worked, she couldn’t help but notice something. Her boss wasn’t acting like his usual cold-hearted self tonight. There was something almost… human about him.

In the office, Verruckt flipped a switch on the bookshelf. There was a click, and the bookshelf slid open like a door. Behind it stood the highest-level lab.

Allison walked in behind him and saw the room bathed in harsh, white light. The shelves were lined with the newest drugs, and the corners were filled with state-of-the-art medical equipment. This place was the center of the entire lab. Noticing Verruckt’s gaze, she feigned surprise and asked, “Is this the highest-level secret room in this research institute?”

Verruckt gave a slight nod. “It’s also a lab.”

He seemed unusually calm emotionally and spoke plainly to Allison. “The most crucial subject is inside. She’s vital for tomorrow’s deal.”

Verruckt turned his attention to the white door at the far end. “The security here is top-tier.”

Allison pretended to be taken aback. “Is it moved down from upstairs?”

“Of course.”
