Chapter 205 A Woman Without Loyalty

Jeremiah looked at Eric, his expression laced with mockery. "Mr. Flint, you mustnoveldrama

be desperate if you're willing to settle for just anyone. I get it. You just want to play the hero for her. But you don't have to go so far as to claim you're married."

Eric didn't respond right away. He raised his left hand, revealing a wedding ring identical to mine on his ring finger. The diamond caught the light, sparkling with undeniable clarity.

Jeremiah's smirk faltered. He stared at me in disbelief before suddenly laughing. His expression twisted into something almost deranged. "You really are a natural- born actress. You even prepared props for this little performance."

I looked up at him, utterly speechless. "You only believe what you want to believe, don't you?"

Eric remained unbothered. He casually reached into his jacket and pulled out a marriage certificate. I stared at him in shock, completely puzzled. Did he just carry that around all the time?

Eric met my gaze with a small, knowing smirk as if he had anticipated this moment all along.

Jeremiah let out a sharp scoff, still unwilling to accept reality. He snatched the marriage certificate from Eric's hand and flipped it open. His smirk wavered. "You actually got married."

His voice was laced with shock. "We just got divorced, and you're already remarried? You really are a disloyal woman. I never misjudged you."

Before his anger could fully ignite, Eric smoothly retrieved the marriage certificate from his grip and tucked it safely away.

Then, he turned to Jeremiah with a smirk that held just a hint of challenge. "You're a businessman. You should understand that valuable things don't stay on the market for long. The same applies to a good woman.

"You and Jae are over. Of course, I wouldn't let an opportunity like this slip by. I couldn't stand by and watch someone else take her."

Jeremiah's face darkened with fury, his emotions on the verge of boiling over.

Just then, Elsa hurried toward us, lifting the hem of her dress as she rushed over. Behind her, Jack trailed after her with an unmistakable look of disappointment on his face.

Elsa stopped beside Jeremiah, her expression full of concern. "Jeremiah, are you okay?"

Then, she turned to me, her expression shifting into righteous indignation. "Jane, you're already divorced. Do you really have to keep provoking him?"

Her gaze flickered toward Eric as her voice grew softer, almost sweet. "Jane, you really should work on that temper of yours. Be careful, or your new husband might be unable to handle it."

I immediately saw through her little act. Smiling, said, "Elsa, you really do have quite the appetite. Having Jeremiah isn't enough for you? Now, you've got your sights set on Eri

Elsa's face paled as she waved her hands frantically. "Jane, how could you think that about me?"

Her eyes shimmered with unshed tears.

Before she could say anything else, Jeremiah cut her off, his voice sharp. "Why didn't you tell me Jane got married?"

Elsa visibly flinched, her entire body tensing.

I had no interest in watching them tear each other apart. Instead, I tugged on

Eric's sleeve and said, "Let's go. The auction is about to start."

Eric nodded and took my hand, effortlessly tucking it into the crook of his arm. Without sparing the two behind us another glance, we walked away, leaving them to stew in their mess.

As we made our way to the auction hall, I couldn't help but glance up at him, voicing the question that had been on my mind, "Why are you carrying our marriage certificate around?"

Eric turned his head and locked eyes with me. He had a mischievous grin on his face. "Obviously, for situations just like that."

He smiled, leaned down, and whispered in my ear, "Try not to admire me too much."
