Revenge is best served cold

Before I could say anything, Jeremiah walked up from behind with Elsa and Jack standing beside him.

At first, I intended to ignore them. After all, Eric was supposed to be in the hospital. He merely snuck out this time. I was worried about any nasty surprises, so it was a better idea to head back earlier.

Jeremiah took a step forward and stood in my way. He met my cold gaze and gritted his teeth. "Do you think you can just walk away?"

His gaze traveled between Eric, Levi, and me. There was rage in his eyes.

I looked at him nonchalantly. "Why can't I leave?"

I wagged the divorce certificate in front of him and asked, "Do you not know what the words on this piece of paper mean?"

Jeremiah scoffed. "Here I was, wondering why you were in such a hurry to divorce me. It turns out you've found yourself a new lover a long time ago."

Elsa heard what he said and decided to stir up some drama. "How could you do that, Jane? Jeremiah treats you like no one has ever done."

I turned around and faced Elsa. "Feel free to scoop him up if he's that excellent in your eyes. After all, we've divorced each other, and we're both single and available. You can get a marriage certificate with him as early as this afternoon."

Elsa's face turned red, and she glanced at Jeremiah subtly. However, he was too angry to care about her feelings now. His gaze was still traveling between the three of us.noveldrama

After a brief moment, he asked in a mocking tone, "Who in the hell cuckolded me? Is it Eric, who has been helping you out all this while and who did everything he could to detain me in the police station? Or is it Levi, who came all the way back to the country just so he could partner up with you and set up your studio?"

Frowning, I sneered, "Not everyone is as rotten to the core as you are."

"Oh?" Jeremiah chuckled coldly before turning his gaze to Eric. "Mr. Flint, you might be famous, but you have poor taste in women. Here was, thinking that you might fall in love with some gorgeous lady. Instead, you have feelings for a Whore."

Jeremiah turned and faced me again. "Listen up, Jane. You're sorely mistaken if you think you have a lot of suitors I've grown tired of you for a long time now. You're nothing but a whore who was used by me countless times. No one would ever want you as his wife!

"You've got another thing coming if you think that Eric and Levi are genuinely kind

to you. They just want your body. Once they get what they want, you can bet your sweet ass that they'll get tired of you as well."

Jeremiah looked at me condescendingly as he spoke in a harsh tone. However, I merely gazed at him nonchalantly with no emotions in my eyes.

His outburst merely served to prove that my forced divorce had hurt his pride.

"Shut your mouth!" Levi suddenly barked. His face turned so red from rage that it was downright scary.

"You might not appreciate Jane for who she is, but do you think for a second that others can't see what's good about her? She wouldn't have given up on her dream if she hadn't married you. You're the one who doesn't deserve someone as excellent as Jane. A lot of people want and fail to find someone like her!"

Levi faced me as he spoke. He had never looked at me that intensely. "Jane—"

I had a pretty good idea about what he was going to say next, and I couldn't help but take a step back.

"Who said that no one would want Jane?" Eric suddenly spoke up and interrupted Levi. He took a step forward and stood next to me before holding my hand.

I could detect a note of provocation in his voice.

"Truth be told, I've been waiting for this exact moment. Now that everyone's here,

I'll no longer keep it hidden. Jae and I love each other. We've decided to get married as well."
