"Am I dreaming, or is this really human speed?" The boy rubbed his eyes, disbelief etched on his face. He'd never seen anyone run like that before it was as if she was deliberately dragging her feet to make it last longer.

"Stop!" The gym teacher clicked the stopwatch and announced, "Three minutes and fifteen seconds! Fiona! You were outstanding!"noveldrama

Fiona halted, hearing the praise, and felt like her world was crumbling: "Outstanding? Why not just pass?" Dramatically, her eyes rolled back, and she collapsed onto the ground.

Betty jumped in fright, "Fiona! Fiona, are you alright? Don't scare me like that!"

From a distance, James couldn't bear the poor acting any longer. He remarked coldly, "This is the kind of daughter Colby raised." With that, he turned and marched into the school building.

Tricia knew James was upset. Fiona couldn't even control her score on something so simple. No wonder James was angry. Well... she was his rival's daughter, after all.

In the nurse's office, the school nurse had gone to fetch some glucose, leaving just Fiona and Alec in the room. Alec tapped Fiona, who was lying on the bed, and said coolly, "Stop the act. Get up."

Fiona cracked one eye open, scanned the room to ensure all was safe, then sat up quickly: "How did I do? Was it convincing?"

"What do you think?" Alec couldn't even bring himself to watch. If today's test video got out, it would definitely become a meme. Anyone could tell Fiona was dragging it out on purpose. If she hadn't paused those few times, she could have smashed the school record.

"I even pretended to faint. What if everyone thinks I collapsed from exhaustion?"

Alec gave her a look that said, "Figure it out yourself." Fiona's energy deflated instantly. Lying was such a hassle.

trouble? Not to brag, but with her skills now, even a professional assassin might have a tough time against her. But it still wasn't enough.

"No need for the glucose, you can go," Alec instructed.

"Yes, Mr. Burke," the nurse replied, stepping outside.

As James entered, Fiona hid in the corner: "Godfather..."

"Uncle James, Fiona's just a bit slow in this area. With me by her side, I'll protect her," Alec assured.

"You might be able to protect her for a while, but can you protect her for a

lifetime?" James said coldly, "Step aside."

James's presence was already intense, and now it felt like the temperature had dropped ten degrees. Fiona quickly clung to Alec's sleeve: "Don't move! Please don't move!"

Alec gently pulled his sleeve free from Fiona's grip.

"I can teach Fiona, and I'll do it well. Besides... who says I can't protect her for a lifetime?" Alec stated with resolve.

James looked at Alec's determined gaze. Though the boy's eyes were still youthful, his resolve was commendable.

James said calmly, "After school,

don't leave. I'll give you a chance to prove yourself. If you can't protect

Fiona, then when I discipline her, you'll keep quiet. With that, James turned and left the room.
