Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1757

Harold was at a bit of a loss for words when it came to Fiona. This kid was sure to cause a ruckus as she got older.

"Get yourself sorted for dinner," he casually instructed, tossing his car keys to the driver. "Move my stuff from the Aldridge Estate, will you?"

"Certainly, Mr. Aldridge," the driver replied.

"Uncle, are you moving in? Why? Are Mom and Dad away for a long time this time?" Fiona asked, her curiosity piqued.

"There's a bit of chaos overseas. Your folks went to straighten things out," Harold explained. "If it's serious, they might be gone a while. If not, they'll be back in about ten days or so."

Harold gently ruffled Fiona's hair. "Instead of fretting about your parents, maybe worry a bit more about your PE scores. Your teacher called me again. Zero on the 800-meter run, huh?"

"Mom always said that in school, it's best not to stand out too much. Keep a low profile, or you'll get sidelined. Besides, if I really ran that fast, my classmates would think something's up," Fiona said, popping a candy into her mouth.

Truth be told, she just didn't like running. Harold understood he was pushing Fiona hard. She'd been through the wringer with Colby's training since she was little. During those grueling sessions, Colby showed no mercy, not even to Sophie, let alone his own daughter. Fiona had to run until she was practically sick before she could stop.

As she grew older, her aversion to running only intensified unless it was absolutely necessary. Plus, she was lightning fast. For most high school girls, clocking two minutes and fifty seconds in the 800-meter run was impressive. But Fiona could do it in two minutes and fifteen seconds, thanks to her parents' top- notch genes and her own dedication.

Sophie had raised Fiona well-too well, in fact. Fiona was laid-back and honest to a fault. To keep her abilities under wraps at school, she simply chose not to run.

"If you don't want to take the test, don't sweat it. Your grades are nearly perfect. Even without a PE score, you'll still get into a great college," Harold said with a warm smile, his affection for Fiona evident.

Nearby, Alec furrowed his brow and asked, "Mr. Aldridge, what's going on overseas that requires Uncle Colby and Aunt Damita to handle it personally? It's got to be something huge."

Harold glanced at the two of them, knowing they were bright and not easily misled. But he couldn't delve into the details of The Silent Shadows with them.noveldrama

Finally, he said, "Why are you so curious about their business? How about I send you to see them instead? Sophie and Colby are staying at your Uncle Angelo's place right now. I'm sure they'd be thrilled to have you over."

"Yes, yes!" Fiona exclaimed, excitement bubbling up.

But before she could go on, Alec quickly covered her mouth. "No, she's just joking!"

"Mmm! Mmm!" Fiona protested, trying to pry Alec's hand away.

Why not go? Aunt Sandy was a sweetheart, and Uncle Angelo couldn't be that bad either.

Meanwhile, over at the Pollard family's place-

Sophie and Colby had just arrived at the Pollard residence. It had been

ages since their last visit, but the place was just as they remembered, unchanged since Caelum's time.

"Ms. Sophie, Mr. Colby, our master is upstairs," Viona said, approaching them and leading the way.

Outside the study, Viona knocked on the door. "Sir, Ms. Sophie and Mr. Colby are here."
