Reborn From Oblivion

Chapter 603

He leaned in, a curious spark in his eyes. "I've always wondered how someone as young as Nathan could be so sharp, building up the powerhouse that is Maple Company in just a few years. Even a genius like him must have had some serious backing, right?"

"Nathalie, who is that person?"

Nathalie looked completely baffled, sympathy mixed with confusion as she stared at Cameron. "Has your endlessly negative wife driven you nuts? I can't make sense of anything you're saying."

Cameron's handsome face turned serious. "Nathalie, playing dumb isn't going to work."

He leaned back, cool and composed, as he started debating with Nathalie. "On the day of your emergency, the doctors had nearly given up. Then, out of nowhere, a man showed up with a medical team. It was only after they stepped in that your condition stabilized."

Nathalie was genuinely taken aback. She hadn't realized someone else had been behind her rescue. Always one to return a favor, she mentally noted she had to properly thank her mysterious savior.

Yet, her demeanor towards Cameron remained frosty. "I figured it was Nathan who shelled out a fortune to bring in outside specialists for me. What's the big deal?"

Cameron saw Nathalie's puzzled expression and suddenly let out a chilling laugh.

"I thought you and Nathan were this perfect, inseparable couple. Guess not, huh?"noveldrama

Nathalie frowned. "What are you getting at?"

Cameron explained, "The guy who turned up that night had the whole hospital cleared. Nathan seemed a bit uneasy around him. Do you really think Nathan could pull strings to get someone like that?"

Nathalie's curiosity about the man's identity only deepened.

How could someone as unassuming as her catch the attention of such a big shot? It didn't add up.

"Seems like you don't have a clue who this person is. That's odd. He wasn't a doctor but stayed in your emergency room all night until you were out of danger. I thought he must have cared about you to do that," Cameron mused.

Nathalie suggested, "Maybe my case was unique, and he just—"

Cameron interrupted, "A brain hemorrhage, what's so unique about that?"

Nathalie was at a loss for words.

Having not gotten what he came for, Cameron stood up to leave. "I'm outta here."

Suddenly inspired, Nathalie asked, "So, what happened to your injuries?"

"Your guy did this."

Nathalie chuckled, "Serves you right."

Cameron looked at her. "I didn't

come off too bad; he took more hits than I did. I mean, I am a

Taekwondo. Your guy might lol net

internal injuries he's nursing?"

Nathalie was fuming. "So you messed up his leg too?"

Cameron replied, "We had a fair fight. Why are you mad?"

Nathalie grabbed the tea cup from the bedside chair and hurled it at Cameron. "If you ever mess with my Nathan again, I'll take you down myself."

Cameron was momentarily taken aback.

Nathalie was protective, but not of him, and that left him feeling unexpectedly

uneasy.

He made a quick exit.
