Marrying the Man in the Dark

Chapter 1225

Chapter 1225 Gwenn's Devastation

The woman, reclining on the bed, reached out with her thin hand and picked up the test kit. "No... it can't be... Charles told me..."

"He was just trying to comfort you. Did you really think that he and I would have been so passionate if it were our first time?"

She leaned into Maeve's face, her lips twisted in a mocking smile. "Mrs. Luther, it's time for you to leave. Stop overstaying your welcome."

With that, she withdrew her phone, hoping to further provoke further. On the screen, Charles could be seen waiting for someone in the café. "Look, all I had to do was ask him to meet me, and he's still waiting for me."

"He's been standing guard outside your hospital room all this time... but when I called him, he left. What does that mean? You should know better than I do, right?

The woman's face turned ashen.

Her hands clasped over her chest as she looked at Gwenn in anguish. "You..."

"What about me?"

Gwenn scrutinized the woman.

Maeve's reaction seemed strange.

Given her condition, she shouldn't have been able to hold on for this long. Could Cherise's medical skills truly be that extraordinary?

A text message from the driver popped up on her phone, 'He's getting impatient to leave.'

Time was slipping away.

Gwenn gritted her teeth. Without further ado, she strode forward to pull off the ventilator mask from the woman's face. "Maeve Lenoir, just die already!"

"Even if you try to live, you don't have much time left!"

"It's better to die now!"

As she spoke, she yanked the ventilator mask off the woman's face.

The woman's face, previously hidden by the oxygen mask, made her frown deeply. "Who... who are you?"

It hadn't been Maeve Lenoir who was lying on the bed this whole time but another woman!

Their resemblance was uncanny, and with the ventilator mask covering most of her face all along, Gwenn hadn't noticed it sooner.

"My name is Mandy Wool." She picked up a makeup remover pad and wiped off the pale foundation on her face. "Gwenn Tanner, I believe this is technically our first meeting, isn't it?"

"However long you've spent exiled from the Tanner Group, that's how long I've been with the Tanner. family. Didn't you hear? I look so

much like Maeve that I was almost mistaken for her twin."

She smoothed a hand over her own face. "I never imagined I would actually have

to pretend to be Maeve one day."

Gwenn was momentarily stunned, unconsciously taking a step back.

This was bad. She had fallen into a trap!

She gritted her teeth and turned to flee.

A large hand blocked her way to the door.

Damien and Cherise stood at the doorway, watching her closely.

Cherise even held a phone in her hand, capturing Gwenn's shocked expression at that moment!

"I thought too little of you."

Damien stared coldly at her. "When we were in Yatesville, Mandy saw you lurking at the bottom of our place to spy on us. I never expected you to follow us here and target my sister while I was away. Gwenn Tanner, you really are a persistent force."

"You have taken everything I had, so I will obliterate everything you have!"

Gwenn glared fiercely at Cherise, her face twisted with rage. "If it weren't for you, I would still be the respected young lady from the Tanner family!"noveldrama

"It's all because of you. I was made to be your substitute, enjoying the glory and wealth at Tanner Group for so long, only to be ruthlessly cast down from the clouds and crash into the ground. Cherise, it's all your

at

fault! All because of you! I will haunt

you even in death!"

"Then go be a ghost!" Damien's eyes narrowed as he raised his hand to grasp Gwenn's chin tightly.

A strange mirth entered Gwenn's eyes at the hatred Damien displayed. "Damien,

if you have the guts, go ahead and strangle me!"
