Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew)

Chapter 3478 You May Leave

"Shaun Mendoza recently came into a lot of money. Do you know why?"

The Viper Crew man shook his head, clutching his aching abdomen as he answered, "Mr. Mendoza doesn't let anyone ask about that. If someone does, he kills them. We don't dare to even mention it." "Where is he now?"

"I don't know," the man replied, his voice trembling. "All I've heard is that he went to some underground fighting event."

Matthew nodded. It seemed the previous information he'd gathered wasn't a lie, and the fight Shaun had joined was likely the same one he'd been invited to by that young man earlier.noveldrama

"You may leave," Matthew said. Then, with a faint smile, he added, "Of course, if you're feeling brave, you're welcome to come back with more people."

Matthew didn't kill the man. He hadn't come here with murder in mind. The man should consider himself lucky-if his intentions had been to seriously harm Matthew, he would already be a corpse. "T-Thank you," the man stammered. He struggled to his feet, bowing over in pain as he scurried away into the distance.

Being a member of the Viper Crew, he knew no one on the island would dare touch him.

Watching the retreating figure, Angus remarked, "I thought you'd kill him, Mr. Larden."

Matthew chuckled. "Mr. Lopez, the problem is resolved now, and you don't need to worry about any retaliation. He won't dare come back, and he definitely won't tell anyone about this."

Matthew understood the rules of the Viper Crew's world. In an organization built on wolf-pack culture and survival of the fittest, being spared by an opponent was seen as a weakness or betrayal. If that man went back, claiming he'd been beaten and let go, no one would believe him. They'd assume he was an infiltrator or traitor.

Angus nodded, a smile spreading across his face. "Naturally. As we agreed, 130 Dornia Emeralds per ton."

"I'll take the material from Counter Eight in the front hall," Matthew replied.

The ore at Counter Eight was the piece Matthew had examined earlier. Among all the materials displayed on the seven other counters, the ore from Counter Eight was undoubtedly the best. Angus' eyes lit up at Matthew's choice. "Mr. Larden, you've got quite an eye for quality. That's no casual knowledge you've got."

The ore from Counter Eight was Angus' finest stock, mined from a site he'd acquired at great expense just a month earlier. Unfortunately the yield from the vein had been disappointing-only a few tons of ore had been extracted, far below expectations.

"If a vein like that appears, it's usually at least a thousand tons at a minimum," Matthew said casually, his words causing Angus to pause in surprise.

"Mr. Larden, did you just say... a thousand tons?!" Angus asked, his voice tinged with excitement.

Matthew nodded and offered a brief

Angus hesitated before replying, his face conflicted. "To be honest, we only managed to extract a few tons. After that, we found no trace of additional ore." Matthew's lips curled into a faint smile. It seemed Angus hadn't fully tapped into his goldmine.
