Chapter 741
"Whitney, I wasn't done talking."
Suddenly, with a swift movement, Whitney found herself whisked back into the man's arms as effortlessly as if she were a little chick.
This time, Ludwik pinned her against the folding screen, his entire body pressing close, the initial 'wall-slam' morphing into an ambiguous embrace. Instantly, Whitney's anger flared. Only a fool would find this overpowering man pitiful.
Fighting to keep her voice low, she hissed, "I don't care if you were finished or not. Can't you see I despise you now? You're... you're a mess, why are you still bothering me? If I knew you were such a creep, I would have let those guys throw you out earlier."
"So, you admit you had Shane save me?" Ludwik, despite the scolding, couldn't help but smile.
Rolling her eyes in frustration, Whitney retorted, "I regret intervening. You should've been kicked out by Brielle."
"So, you were watching me earlier, worried I'd be at a disadvantage?"
Did this man have no shame at all?
Feeling utterly defeated, Whitney argued, "Today, if any man were treated unfairly, my conscience would compel me to help."
"Last time I was turned away from the Garcia Group, you wouldn't admit you tipped me off. Whitney, you wouldn't lift a finger for any other man."
Ludwik, moved, caressed her pale cheek, his gaze intense, "Whitney, if I were in good health, given your sympathy for me, I'd win you back no matter how low I fell. I wouldn't let go, but now..."
A flash of pain crossed his eyes as he pulled out a single pink pill from his pocket.
Ludwik offered it to her, earnestly saying, "Take this, Whitney. It'll make things right."
As Whitney listened to his coaxing tone...
She glanced at the pill in disbelief, recognizing it instantly as emergency contraception!
Stunned, she then flung it at his handsome face, "Ludwik, why are you giving me this? You really are sick."
"I'm not sick."
Ludwik's seriousness was palpable as he picked up the pill, placing it back in her hand, "I just don't want you carrying Bryce's child."
Last time Danny asked him, it wasn't always possible to trick Mommy into coming over, what to do?
Ludwik, his expression icy, could only think of this solution.
She and Bryce, sharing a space, constantly together, he couldn't always follow her, stop her.
Only by preventing a pregnancy, could he avoid a bigger mistake...noveldrama
Whitney's eyes widened in shock, hardly believing his intention.
He couldn't think she and Bryce... had taken their relationship to that level.
For some reason, she was furious...
And speechless, but she didn't want to share the discord between her and Bryce with him.
"You're seriously unwell." She sneered coldly. "Bryce and I are married. Whether we have children is our business, not yours. You have no right to interfere."
With that, she tried to break free from him, but Ludwik wouldn't let go, infuriating Whitney enough to kick forward.
Ludwik caught her slender leg, his gaze darkening, "You sure you want to make a scene here? I don't mind if others hear or see, but think about your and Bryce's reputation."
"You're despicable."
Her eyes, filled with loathing, bore into him.
She regretted showing any kindness to this man who kept provoking her.
"Just eat it, and I'll let you go, Whitney. Listen to me."
Ludwik pressed the pill towards her lips, his eyes shadowed with a hint of sorrow as if her refusal genuinely worried him.
But Whitney's pride was wounded, resentful of being coerced.
"Who gave you the right to meddle in my personal matters, Ludwik? We're not even a couple anymore, and now you want to play guardian? Pretending to care, just to control me? Forget it. I won't eat it, and what can you do about it?"
As Whitney attempted to crush the pill on the floor, Ludwik's gaze hardened, and in a swift move, he swallowed the pill himself.
Her eyes widened in shock, but before she could react, he kissed her deeply.
His lips, seemingly cold, brought a sensation so intoxicating, filled with a mature, enticing scent of tobacco, completely sealing hers. Caught off guard, Whitney froze.
As she began to push him away, Ludwik's expertise took over, his kiss deepening.
The kiss grew more passionate, Whitney's fists flailing in protest.
Ludwik, enduring the pain, found her fiery spirit as irresistible as ever, her feistiness stirring him further.
His gaze turned scorching, memories of their passionate past overwhelming him...
Then, from beyond the screen, the sound of men getting up.
"Bryce, thank you for tonight. Serving drinks, sharing insights, it's been a pleasure for all."
"My honor, Ronan. To share and discuss with you all is truly my privilege."
Bryce's voice resonated at the doorway.
Whitney's heart nearly stopped, caught in Ludwik's dominating embrace, her sense of shame unbearable.
Just when she thought it couldn't get any more intense, Ludwik, as if by some deliberate design, kissed her deeper, with more force.
His large hand, radiating a searing warmth, encircled her slender waist, his fingertips lightly tracing patterns over the fabric of her dress, eliciting a series of shivers across her skin.
Her eyelashes fluttered weakly, like the leaves of a dainty fern in a breeze, as she whimpered and tried to resist him.
Ludwik's gaze fixed on her flushed cheeks, his voice hoarse with desire, "If you want them to find out, then go ahead and scream."
How utterly shameless!
