Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier)

Chapter 60

Lily's excuses did nothing but fuel the simmering lust within Xavier.

The physical disparity between the two of them left her helpless in her attempts to resist. Her dignity was crushed.

Xavier was satisfied, to say the least. The look on her face as she tried to resist but couldn't move gratified him, though he felt sorry for her and kissed the bead of sweat away from the top of her nose.

He wanted to tear away her disguise; she clearly liked it too.

It was all Lily's fault. If she had been obedient, he wouldn't have been unquenched for so long, and she wouldn't be so worn out tonight.

Their lovemaking had indeed gone on for a while-it finally ended at five in the morning.

Xavier took her to the bathroom to shower, but she still wore that cold, distant expression. A sudden emptiness spread through his chest, making him feel uncomfortable.

But he didn't explain anything. After taking a shower, he went to bed with her in his arms.

This was the first time he held her so intimately while they slept.

He fell asleep quickly.

Lily was drained, yet she felt wide awake. She stared out of the window absently, where the first light of dawn was breaking. The sun's glaring rays shone into the room. Xavier's arm was wrapped around her waist, while her chest was covered by a thin blanket. Her collarbones and neck were all marked with hickeys.

What had been a night of satisfaction for him had been torture for her.

Tears trickled down the corners of Lily's eyes. Sniffling, she gently removed Xavier's hand and got out of bed.

Her clothes from last night had been torn, so she went to the closet and picked another set of clothes. She left the room quietly.

It was still early. She planned to go back to Bayview Gardens to get changed, and then head to Lupier for work.

What happened last night replayed over and over in her mind. She blushed with embarrassment, though fury and resentment sarged within her as well.

Lily felt numb. Her mind was clear about her next plans, but her thoughts couldn't focus.

When she exited the elevator and saw Maryanne standing in front of her door with breakfast, she froze.

"Lily, open the door!"

Maryanne must've just arrived. When the doorbell rang and no one answered, she started knocking. She instinctively swerved around as soon as she heard the elevator door open. Spotting Lily walk out of the elevator, she strode over and began, "Why have you just returned? Did you just pull an all-nighter on your first day of-"

She suddenly stopped. Her gaze was fixated on the hickeys on Lily's neck.

Lily hung her head low. She tried to awkwardly shrink away from her gaze.

"Did you get into trouble?" Maryanne asked, looking anxious. "Did someone at the company assault you, or did something happen on your way home?" "No." Lily shook her head. She did not dare to look Maryanne in the eye or explain.

She sidestepped Maryanne and opened the door. Her voice gradually turned into a whisper as she said, "Let's talk inside."

Maryanne's expression hardened. With a stoic expression, she stormed into the apartment.

The morning sunlight poured into the living room. While Lily sat on the couch, Maryanne, with her arms crossed, scrutinized her from across the room.

"Lily, I'd rather you were assaulted than believe you're back together with Xavier!"noveldrama

"Timothy called me last night. He said Xavier was drunk and vomiting blood, so I was worried and went over."

Lily couldn't bring herself to tell the truth. Deep down, she knew Xavier had her wrapped around his little finger. He knew that she would return if he pulled such an act.

inheritance!"

Maryanne was so furious that she felt like her head might explode. "If you insist on having anything to do with Xavier, the only things you should be concerned with are his funeral and

Aside from that, why did Xavier's fate have anything to do with Lily?

Lily only began to understand this now. However, the helplessness she felt stemmed from deep within her.

"Maryanne, have you ever truly loved someone?"
