Of The Bea 296
Following the sound, Nyx saw Aman and the one with the floppy ears.
There was a fresh buffalo lying on the ground.
“This is for you, Nyx,” Aman said softly. “Thank you for saving me.”
The young male lion was no longer the messy sight he'd been when they'd first met.

Now, he stood tall, the morning sun shining on him, his fur glimmering healthily, and he exuded a wild, captivating charm.
Nyx couldn't help but look at him a little longer.
Even though she'd been a lion for two years, Nyx still thought of herself as Beastmen, and when it came to regular lions, she simply admired them without any other thoughts.
But Aman got excited when he noticed her lingering gaze. He thought, 'Is she interested in me, too?
One defining trait of a lion was its confidence. Young male lions, in particular, became especially restless as the rainy season approached, their minds clouded by surging hormones and wandering thoughts.
Their eyes met, and as Nyx felt the growing heat in its gaze, even she–no matter how slow-finally realized something was off.
She took a step back, glancing at Theon and Felix, who had followed her over. She thought, 'No way!
The two male lions were practically radiating jealousy and anger, glaring at Aman and the one with the floppy ears, like they were ready to tear their rival apart at any second.
Nyx rushed over to them, trying to calm things down before things exploded. She rubbed against them on the left, kissed them on the right, and moved her tail up and down their backs. Her efforts weren't in vain.
The desire to fight left the male lions' minds. They took turns hugging Nyx tightly and coldly glared at Aman and the one with the floppy ears, as if marking their territory.
The overwhelming pressure from the lion king was enough to make every lion tremble in fear.
Ordinary male lions wouldn't dare challenge a lion king for a mate, but Aman wasn't ordinary. Despite the pressure, he stood there, sweating, but he didn't back down.
Nyx spoke up, “No need to thank me. You can take the buffalo back. I don't accept it."
When she was human, Nyx would always think carefully and find a reason to turn someone down, but as a lion, it was simple. She could afford to be a bit more willful.
"I only eat prey that Theon and Felix catch for me," Nyx declared calmly.
In an instant, Aman was deeply hurt.
Theon and Felix, on the other hand, immediately brightened up, purring happily.
That one sentence repeated in their minds countless times, and they looked around, wishing the gossiping birds weren't nearby, as they would have loved for them to witness this moment and spread it across the whole savannah.
Nyx turned down another male lion. She only liked them.
"We'll go catch you a buffalo," the two male lions said happily as they set off, clearly excited that hunting for Nyx was such an

honorable task.
Nyx followed them, leaving Aman's protests behind.
Watching the three lions leave together, looking so close-knit, Aman stood frozen, unable to move, for a long time.
This was the first time he felt such a strong sense of defeat.
“Let's go.” Curled Ear said helplessly, picking up the buffalo in his mouth. “I told you, they won't allow another lion between
them.*
All he'd wanted was an alliance, but they'd been driven away. Theon and Felix had warned him sternly not to get close to Nyx.
And yet, Aman still foolishly tried to court Nyx. He really had a death wish.
If they were able to leave here alive today, it was all thanks to Nyx stopping them in time.
When Nyx returned from hunting, she noticed that Aman and the one with the floppy ears had already disappeared, and the buffalo was gone as well, so she let out a relieved sigh.
However, there was a commotion from the other side. She looked up and saw the lionesses chasing after the three young cubs, trying to drive them out of the territory. "Move it! You guys have grown up."
Nyx suddenly realized. The three young lions being driven away were all males, already sub-adults. They couldn't stay in the territory anymore, so they had to go out and wander, until they claimed their own territory.
But clearly, they were still attached to their mother and couldn't bear to leave the comfortable life in the Great Valley. They were reluctant to go.
"Hurry up and go." The lioness threatened them. "If you don't leave, the leader will kill you."
The young lions didn't believe it at all. "That's not true, mom. The leader isn't even trying to chase us out."
If Theon and Felix hadn't been so slow to act, it definitely shouldn't have been the lionesses who were dealing with these sub-adult males.
“You guys should leave,” Felix spoke up.
Theon also let out a roar.
They didn't want to chase these guys away, but they were so focused on staying close to Nyx that they had completely forgotten about them.noveldrama
The rainy season was approaching, and these half-matured ones couldn't stay in the pride anymore. Inbreeding could happen.
The two male lions felt the stirrings of restlessness in their bodies, shook their manes, and became a bit anxious.
They were about to reach full maturity.
This was supposed to be their first rainy season to participate in breeding.
The hormones the male lions were releasing were a special signal to the females in the territory to get ready.
The females in the Great Valley Pride were excited, but the females in the Red Mountain Pride had mixed feelings.
This rainy season, the leaders were going to mate with the females and have their own cubs.

They thought, 'What about Nyx?'
Although Theon and Felix definitely wouldn't abandon her and drive her out of the pride, her status had dropped so much that she would surely struggle with the strong sense of loss.
But Yaya was optimistic. She could see clearly that the two male lions had deep feelings for Nyx, far beyond
what a lion should feel. Such deep affection wouldn't just disappear because of the birth of cubs.
"We're just borrowing the leaders to have some cubs. Once it's done, we'll return them to you," Yaya said openly to Nyx.
Yaya thought it was completely normal, nothing wrong with it.
If it weren't for breeding, male lions would prefer to stay with their brothers, and lioneses would rather live with
their sisters.
Once the breeding season was over, they could raise their own cubs, and the leaders could continue their little world with Nyx.
Nyx went speechless. She didn't know how to respond to Yaya.
Actually, she was a little worried. She thought, 'What if Theon and Felix think the same way? That would be awful. If we couldn't get through this, the trial would definitely fail.
With anxiety in her heart, Nyx couldn't eat properly or sleep well for several days.
Her mates' symptoms of their breeding season became more and more obvious. They stuck to her all the time, frequently roaring to declare their dominance over the territory, puffing out their chests and lifting their heads in front of her to show off their strength, trying to court her.
Hearing those deep lion roars, the females in the territory couldn't hold back anymore.
Yaya boldly approached, eager to try.
This situation was different. The leaders were already mature, and they were clearly very eager for the females. They probably wouldn't keep avoiding or rejecting them like before.
What do you think?
