Of The Bea 292

An alliance of three stray male lions invaded the Red Mountain Pride and killed Black Scar. The next step, naturally, was to kill all the cubs.
The lioneses of the Red Mountain Pride were incredibly unlucky. They had already lost one batch of cubs, and now, after all this effort to raise this new batch, they were about to lose them too.
Nyx's nerves tightened to the extreme.
That childhood memory, which didn't truly belong to her, surged up, and she couldn't help but tremble all over.
Theon, who wasn't good with words, didn't know how to comfort her, so he just licked her forehead gently, over and over again. He thought, 'Don't be afraid. I'm here, and no one can hurt you'
Not long after, the birds brought more news.
"The cubs aren't dead."
"Felix made it to the Red Mountain Pride.
"Those three dared to challenge him."
The stray lion alliance had successfully killed Black Scar and, drunk on their victory, began to believe they could defeat the lion king, relying on their numbers.
Even the birds thought they were overestimating themselves.
Sure enough, a few more birds flew over soon after, reporting the outcome of the battle.
"They won."
"Felix won."
"As expected of the lion king-one against three.”
The birds were absolutely certain; this was the fiercest lion they had ever seen.
Nyx climbed to a high place and looked out. She saw Felix's large, graceful figure moving through the night, with a group of lions following him.
All the lioneses were there, and she let out a relieved sigh.
And none of the cubs were missing. Her tense mood suddenly relaxed. She jumped off the large rock, leaned against Theon, and together they waited for Felix to return.
But as he got closer, Nyx noticed the bright red on his body, and it hit her like a thunderbolt. She rushed toward him.
“I'm fine, Nyx,” Felix stood tall, letting her check him. “It's not my blood. I'll wash it off by the river later.” Compared to the former lion king of the Great Valley Pride, those three were a bunch of amateurs. Beating them had been a piece of cake.
He wasn't hurt, but there was a lioness who had been injured. Felix hesitated, looking at the injured lioness, unsure how to tell Nyx.
In the silence, the scent of blood grew stronger and more noticeable, impossible to hide.

Nyx looked at Felix's serious face and could also smell something unusual. She stiffened and turned her head to meet her mother's gaze.
Stunned for a moment, she didn't have time to check on her mother's injuries before she turned and ran. “I'm going to find some medicine."
“Nyx.” Theon hurriedly followed her, staying close by her side, ready to be her bodyguard.
During this time, Nyx hadn't been aimlessly running around. She had already found several places in the territory where medicinal herbs were growing.
There were hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, tissue regeneration-promoting, and fever-reducing herbs.
Once she found the right spot, she started gathering them quickly.
To other animals, this scene looked like she was struck hard and suddenly went crazy, pulling up grass wildly.
The lioness' eyes showed a hint of guilt.
She wasn't a good mother, she hadn't protected little Nyx properly before, and now Nyx was worried about her, which had led to this.noveldrama
Sasha knew that some grasses were special and could heal injuries and diseases. If the injury wasn't too bad, those herbs could help with recovery. But if it was serious, there was nothing to do but wait for death to
come.
"My leg is broken. There's no saving it," her voice was heavy, full of pain, a reminder to Nyx.
In this vast prairie, no animal that broke its leg ever healed. Most of them died within days, and even if they were lucky enough to survive, they could never hunt again, never take care of themselves. In the end, death was inevitable.
Upon hearing this, Nyx paused for a moment. She set the herbs aside and bent down to check the lioness' injury.
She believed the bone was definitely broken.
But the break was clean, not shattered. As long as it was set and rested for a while, it could heal completely.
"It's not a big deal; it can heal,” she comforted Sasha while looking for the right wood and vines to stabilize its
leg.
Watching Nyx busy herself, the lioness looked at her suspiciously.
Nearby, the other lions from the Red Mountain Pride and the Great Valley Pride were also confused.
They all thought Nyx had lost her mind and was talking nonsense.
They thought, 'She thought she could heal a broken bone with just two pieces of wood, some vines, and a few herbs?'
Nyx didn't notice the skeptical looks around her. She kept her head down, carefully applying the medicine, setting the bone, and putting a splint on, when she suddenly heard Sasha apologize, “I'm sorry, Nyx. I regret not protecting you back then."
he hadn't protected Nyx's siblings as well.
This time, it was because she fought to the death to protect the cubs that Sasha got hurt. She had her leg bitten off by an invading stray male lion.
No matter what, she never wanted to see her cubs die one by one in front of her.
She didn't regret getting hurt for the cubs.
Now, thinking she was as good as dead, she wanted to share her feelings with Nyx, to say the apology she had been holding

in for so long. She finally felt much lighter, like she had dropped a heavy stone from her chest.
Nyx looked up and rubbed her head against the lioness' neck. "It's okay, mom."
She didn't think Sasha was at fault.

Even if Sasha had desperately tried to run with the cubs, fleeing their territory, it would have been hard to keep them alive, and even harder to keep them safe. It might have led to the death of both mother and cubs.
Nature was that cruel. Sasha was in pain too, but she had no choice.
"Alright. From now on, don't get your leg wet and try not to move it." Nyx changed the subject, giving Sasha some instructions. “And these herbs, you need to eat some every day to prevent infection and inflammation in
the wound."
After treating the injury, another serious issue arose. The new male leader of the Red Mountain Pride was defeated by Felix before he even officially took the position, meaning Felix was technically their new leader. But if they followed Felix and settled in the Great Valley, they feared the lionesses there would have any
objections.
Suddenly, Yaya spoke up and took the initiative to accept them, "Hello, I'm Yaya. From now on, we're sisters in the same pride.
The Great Valley territory was vast and abundant. There was no problem in supporting a few more lionesses
and cubs.
Adding new members would only make their pride stronger.
Yaya had a good first impression of Sasha and was willing to live with her. Plus, she had a bit of selfishness in
it.
During the day, she had overheard a conversation between the lion king and Nyx, learning that they didn't want to stay in their territory and planned to leave during the rainy season.
In fact, the territory was never short of male lions eyeing it. Once they left, another new lion would quickly take
the throne. But having seen a truly powerful lion king, Yaya wasn't willing to let them go.
With Theon and Felix around, their territory would definitely be safe. They would even hunt for themselves
and wouldn't need the lionesses to support them.
She thought, 'Where else in the world could you find such a great lion king?'
Yaya knew that Sasha was Nyx's mother and that Nyx had strong feelings for the Red Mountain Pride. If they accepted them and let them stay in the Great Valley, maybe Nyx would want to stay too.
As long as Nyx stayed, the two male lions would surely stay with her.
Yaya felt the lion kings were just like simps.
"Don't get involved in the hunting until your injury heals,” she told Sasha. “Listen to Nyx, rest for a while, and
you'll get your leg back to normal.”
Whether or not Nyx stayed depended on Sasha's life, and Yaya cared a lot about that.
Even though she didn't have much hope, she still wanted to try her best.
Not far away, two young lionesses were avoiding the Red Mountain Pride, muttering to each other.
“Has Nyx lost it? Is Yaya crazy too?"
"Her bone is broken, how could it possibly heal?"
