CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1922

The Mason Corporation specialized in construction materials, ensuring high quality. But with their financial struggles, they desperately needed funding and the security of working under York Corporation's umbrella.

That made them the cheapest and most reliable option.

And really-who could say no to cheap and reliable?

Not even Nash.

He didn't hesitate. "Alright, let's sign the contract. I brought my assistant."

His assistant, sharp as ever, immediately stepped forward with the documents.

A few moments later, Vera held the freshly signed contract in her hands. Suddenly, the food tasted even better.

As they left, Nash pulled Caleb aside for a brief conversation.

Vera was curious.

But not enough to eavesdrop.

When Caleb returned, his expression was a bit complicated, but it didn't seem to concern her. "Let's go," he said. "I'll drive you home."

She originally planned to take a cab, but since he insisted, she didn't argue.

By the time they arrived, it was late.

The house still carried the emptiness of assets being seized, but at least she still had this home-and that, too, was thanks to Caleb's help.

She hadn't expected Aunt Tina to still be awake.

But Aunt Tina had been worried sick. She had been waiting at the door the entire time.

The moment she saw Vera, she hurried over, throwing a jacket over her shoulders while fussing, "Oh, my

dear girl! Don't you know how chilly it gets at night? You should've dressed warmer."

Vera felt a little guilty. "I'm sorry, Aunt Tina. I'll be more careful next time."

"Alright, alright, get inside. I'll head home now."

But then-Aunt Tina suddenly noticed the man standing beside her.

Her eyesight wasn't the best.

She squinted, taking a long look at Caleb. Then she looked at Vera. Then back at Caleb.

And just like that, her face lit up with a knowing smile.

"Ahh, so it's Dr. Smith!" she said, practically beaming.

Then, without warning-

"Why don't you just stay the night?"

Vera almost choked on air.

Aunt Tina didn't give them a chance to react before continuing, "It's such a hassle coming and going at

this hour. Besides, you and Vera are practically engaged. There's no need to be shy!"

She started turning back toward the house, already talking about preparing a guest room.

Vera's entire face turned red.

She quickly shot Caleb a glance and saw that the tips of his ears had turned red too. Flustered, she grabbed Aunt Tina's arm. "Aunt Tina, that's not―"

"What's the problem?" Aunt Tina waved her off with a knowing look. "Oh, I see, I see. You young people and your shyness. Don't worry, I'm not telling you to share a room."

Vera opened her mouth, ready to explain further.

But Caleb suddenly spoke up.

"Forget it. She has a point," he said, tone neutral. "I'll stay the night."

Aunt Tina beamed. "Good, good! No need to be so formal. I'll go get the guest room ready."noveldrama

And just like that, Caleb was officially staying over.

Later that night, as they were settling in,

Caleb didn't seem to mind. "Sure."

But just as he finished showering, the water supply suddenly shut off.

Luckily, he had already rinsed off.

But when he stepped out, hair damp, towel slung low on his hips-Vera suddenly burst into the room.

"Caleb, the water just—"

She stopped mid-sentence.

Her brain short-circuited.

For a few seconds, the room fell into a stunned silence.

Vera froze.

Caleb stared.

And then-

Vera's entire face turned red.

She looked like a freshly boiled shrimp-red from head to toe, practically steaming.

Caleb, still dripping water, raised a brow, watching her reaction with mild amusement. "I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to- I'll—I'll just—"

She panicked, stammered, and bolted out, slamming the door shut behind her.
