Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1491

Trevor squatted down and gaped at the stunning woman sleeping sound in front of him. Thinking about the incident at the club and everything in between, Trevor raised his hand and couldn't help but sigh.

If she hadn't barged into his life, he'd still be hanging on to Selena. He would probably still be so focused on the past that he'd take no notice of his future!

In fact, he got into a huge fight with his parents when his mother insisted on sending Selena off. It was probably the biggest fight he has ever had with his family, and it was the only time his easygoing mother yelled at him. She called Selena heartless, ungrateful, sly, and many names. Of course, Selena knew nothing of the argument. Trevor was also extremely stubborn at that time. Whatever crimes her mother landed on Selena, he would find a way to blame it on himself. He wanted to show his family how perfect Selena was, and how everything wrong was his fault. It drove his mother up the wall, and she even fell sick after that.

It was then that he finally agreed to leave her side. He had planned to help her continue her studies overseas! However, Selena's illness came out of the blue, thus he sent her overseas so she'd get better treatment for her condition. His mother was too kind to let Selena suffer alone too. He had been assisting her for years, and his mother kept quiet about it. She hadn't agreed to it, but she wasn't objecting to it either. He had even visited Selena a few times over the years, and his mother only hinted for him to keep his distance.

He knew that his mother was afraid of how their relationship would progress!

He was a normal man, so of course, he would get impulsive upon seeing a beautiful lady. However, he knew his relationship with Selena couldn't progress beyond what they already had, so even though some part of him wanted to move their relationship further forward, another part of him found the idea wild. That was why he never laid his hands on her. It wasn't entirely because of her disease. Looking back at his shared memories with that woman, the fear finally caught up to him.

If she hadn't seemed so weak...If she hadn't looked so helpless...If he had seen more than what she wanted him to see-

That woman was truly dreadful!

When Trevor attended gatherings or parties as a boy, he'd see young Selena hiding away in the corner, so he'd give her some gifts or food as a way to, perhaps, comfort her. He'd even give away Caroline's stuff to Selena, which made her exceptionally upset. The thing was that Trevor wasn't the only one doing so. His parents treated Selena similarly too. Even after stepping into adulthood, he'd buy her branded bags and clothes, and she'd get to pick whatever she wanted. Despite that, Selena would never choose the one she longed for the most. She'd choose something cheaper, or something more inferior, which led Trevor to think of Selena as a kind, sensible, and considerate young lady.

The realization finally came to him. After all those years. Trevor really felt as dumb as a pig. Selena never fought for anything, but she'd always get whatever she wanted in the end! Of course she never had to fight for anything. She knew that his parents were impartial toward her. She knew that Caroline would have to give up her stuff sooner or later!

He always thought Selena was receiving the shorter end of the stick, but in fact, it was Caroline! He had been focusing so much on Selena that he totally forgot about his precious younger sister!

Caroline always seemed clumsy and ruthless. She'd get upset, but they'd just have to coax her a little and everything would be alright! They used to say how petty and arrogant Caroline was, they'd remark on how she'd always want everything for herself. The truth was that Caroline had only been fighting for what was supposed to be hers! Selena was the one robbing Caroline of her rights. Selena had not only taken the material stuff, but also her brother and parents' love! That explained why Caroline detested Selena so much.

And every time, he would comfort Selena. Selena who got all she wanted! He consoled her and apologized on behalf of Caroline!

He had never thought too much about those little details before. He had always thought what he did was necessary. Selena had nothing and no one, so he should take care of her more, right? But Selena wasn't as clueless and pure as he thought her to be. She just acted helpless because it always got her what she wanted.

If Victoria hadn't intruded into his life, if Selena had married into the Clements family, then he, Trevor Clements, would be the sole reason for the Clements family's downfall!

Complicated emotions surged inside Trevor's heart. He had known Selena for so many years, after all. She had always been an angel to him. Although he had finally seen her demonic side, he still found it somewhat difficult to process.

Victoria opened her eyes and saw a hand hovering over the air. His face was dark and she could tell something was on his mind.

Victoria pulled her blanket and held his big palm in hers, "When did you come back? Was it a difficult case? How'd things go?"

Why did he look so bitter?

She didn't know what she could do. She wanted to comfort him. She subconsciously tightened her grip on his palm and caught the faint scent of cigars on him. She was right!

Trevor came back to his senses and pulled Victoria into his embrace.

"Vicky-"

She was God's gift to him! She was his blessing!

He had a palm at the back of her head as he pushed her head against his chest. "You're my savior," his voice was deep as he spoke, "I wonder how many good deeds I've done in my past lives to meet you, Vicky!"

She saved him! He was beyond saving, but somehow, she did it!noveldrama

Victoria, on the other hand, thought that he was talking about what happened earlier. The corner of her lips twitched as she hugged her husband tight, "We're husband and wife, remember? If my problems are yours, then yours are mine. We fight together, right?"

When she stabbed that guy, he took the blame without a trace of doubt.

It was the first time Victoria felt the pleasure of having someone look out for her. She didn't have to be alone anymore. It didn't matter what challenges awaited them ahead, she had him, and that was enough. She had him, so she wasn't alone or scared anymore! Perhaps that was why people choose to fall in love! Having somebody by your side was truly a godsend.

Victoria curled up a little in his long arms.

"Hubby, even if you've really broken the law, even if you're really going down, I'm gonna go with you! As long as you're remorseful of your actions, God will be kind to us, you know. We did some good things too-"

They hadn't done anything wrong! They were framed! Tricked!

What was the worst that could happen? If he does go down, she'd go down with him!

Trevor knew that his sudden sentimentality had probably put Victoria on guard. He collected his thoughts as he slowly loosened his grip and pushed her away. He then started stroking her hair as he smiled.

"I'd never touch drugs! I still have a

bunch of money to earn from my ethical businesses, why on Earth would I turn to illegal stuff? It's alright, just suddenly feel sorry for you. I hadn't given you enough love...you can't even get through a few days without trouble knocking at our door! It's already so late, and you're still waiting-"

"Oh, no rush," Victoria chuckled, "You have a few decades worth of time to compensate me! We've got plenty of time!"

Victoria then put her chilly feet under his legs as she giggled, "Did you find the little troublemaker? You must've drunk a lot. Do you want something to eat?"

Victoria slowly got up as she spoke. She wanted to get him something, perhaps some soup, but Trevor quickly pressed her back down into her seat.

"I've already had dinner! I really thought we'd get a chance to take down Sofare Entertainment, but it's alright. We probably scared them a little, so we won't be seeing them for a while now. We've also strengthened our defenses and did some investigation, so now we'll just leave the rest to the police!"

ove

"Oh, that's good! The golden eye of justice sees and requites only the unjust man. Well be alright-" Victoria yawned as she struggled to finish her sentence. She was really starting to feel sleepy.

Trevor picked her up swiftly and headed to the bed, "You didn't have to wait till so late, you know? You could've caught a cold. I'm going to shower, and you go get your beauty rest!"

Trevor couldn't sleep that night. He basically stared at Victoria for the whole night as he sorted through his thoughts and emotions. He was finally going to let go-

For the next few days, Trevor continued investigating the incident at the club. He even met with some people.

One day, Trevor returned to his office after a meeting, only to see Wyatt Johnson there. He had some coffee in hand, so he had probably been waiting for Trevor for some time now.

"Why are you here?"

"I'm just swinging by! Thought you were looking into that Mr. Harris, and I happened to have some information you may be interested in. You were in a meeting, so I thought I'd just make myself at home! D*mn, you've got some decent Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee!"

Wyatt raised his cup of coffee as he gestured toward the documents on the table.

"Leave some for me next time, will ya? You should probably change your box, though. It doesn't seem as airtight as it should be. Or maybe it just wasn't ground fine enough!"

The coffee he brew wasn't as delicate as he liked it to be!

Trevor rolled his eyes and commented, "Stop being so picky!"

How could Wyatt be so finicky when he was in Trevor's office?

Trevor reached out and took the information as he asked, "So the name's really

Harris? Dave Harris?"

"Perhaps only he himself knows his

true name. This man has a least three identities, all of them being fake millionaires. Oh, wait, no, there was a time when he was actually rich. He's most known to be Dave Harris. Some even call him Sean Harris, o maybe just even Harris His peak net worth was ten billion dollars. Look at this, this is a photo of him and a client of mine! What I

learned from my client is that he used to be rich, but his wealth wasn't permanent. His downfall came quick, and he committed fraud

and scams as his main source of income. This b*stard even scammed my client. Now, he's back

with a new identity. Word is that he later became a drug addict, and you know how careless and manipulatable those addicts are, so he might not really be the one you're

looking for—"

As Wyatt explained the situation seriously, Trevor's gaze fell on a woman's

handbag on the hand rest.

Were those Wyatt's?

Was he planning on gifting them to Trevor? Or was it for someone else?

It seemed like something for a woman!

It would be reasonable if Wyatt had gotten the bag for someone else. If it was for Trevor, well.that'd be odd.

Not only was Trevor curious, though. An absurd thought struck him. "I wonder,"

Trevor thought, "I wonder if I can get my hands on that? Vicky would surely be delighted!"
