Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1290

Yvette was having a wild time, giggling as she rode her skateboard back and forth. There were a few times Lauren couldn't catch up to her, out of breath from all the running.

"Yvette, that's about enough..."

"Alright, Yvette, that's enough. Don't make so much noise, okay?"

"Yvette..."

Though they booked nearly the entire floor, they were at the dividing corridor after all, and a recuperating patient was staying at the other end of it. The hospital explained he was a relative of a family member. As they didn't need so many rooms, plus it didn't affect them much, they didn't insist then.

Lauren worried they'd disturb others whenever Yvette got loud right then. However, Yvette loved it the more Lauren chased after her, riding even faster, having a blast, making Lauren mad and anxious, absolutely vexed.

"Yvette! Slow down... Slow down!"

She reached out to grab Yvette as she exclaimed, but Yvette reacted quickly and slipped past her, looking back as she laughed. Hitting the roof, right as Lauren slapped her forehead, she saw Yvette charging toward the elevator, scaring her spitless.

"Watch out! The elevator..."

A loud clatter came almost simultaneously, and as the skateboard was thrown aside, Lauren reflexively closed her eyes and screamed.

"Ah!"

Not hearing a cry as she had imagined, Lauren opened her eyes only to see Willy holding Yvette in his arms while she held a rabbit cage in hers, grinning from ear to ear!

Lauren's heart was still pounding when her gaze later landed on the skateboard to her side, wondering if she chucked it away herself. Despite worrying, she was frustrated as well, absolutely livid!

Willy glanced at Lauren as he moved toward her with Yvette in his arms. "Hurry up and apologize to Mommy. Look how scared you made her. You should be punished..."

With that, he feigned punishing her, patting Yvette twice.

Yvette giggled as she buried her head into Willy's arms, then snuck a couple of peeks at Lauren before finally hiding her entire face as she held the rabbit cage.

Rolling her eyes, Lauren brutally pinched Willy's arm twice and swept her gaze to the mess in the corridor; the skateboard and scattered toys. "You really spoiled her rotten! Look at her; she doesn't even listen anymore, screaming and shouting, and all..."

Pulling Lauren into his arms with his free hand, Willy patted her waist lightly, comforting her.

"Alright, alright, don't get upset anymore. She must be suffering from cabin fever! Besides, it's just us, don't worry about it. We'll be leaving in a couple of days anyway. I'll keep an eye on her; make sure she doesn't cause any trouble anymore!"

After coaxing Lauren, Willy turned to Yvette.

"You hear that, Yvette? You have to behave - no running or shouting in the hospital. You'll disturb others from their rest, you know? You can play however you like once we go home, got it?"

Nodding, Yvette glanced over at Lauren before nodding again. "Mommy..."

She smacked her lips, seemingly wanting to apologize, but it never came. In the end, she poked the hole and said softly.

"Bunny..."

Amused by her action, Willy and Lauren chuckled

as they looked at each other. "Haha..."

Poking Yvette's head, she couldn't help saying, "You naughty little mischief!"

With that, they returned to the ward.

Cloud's gaze was as empty as the abyss as she watched the family leave from behind the door.

Though Yvette had infuriated her, she couldn't be happier to see her baby girl returning to her usual bubbly, mischievous self.

Yvette went for another round of physical checkups that day, and Lauren checked her out of the hospital after she was certain Yvette had recovered completely. She then called Willy before returning to the ward to tidy up.

After lunch, Yvette ran to the rabbit cage with some food, leading Lauren to shake her head and walk toward her with her tiny shoes.

"You're misbehaving again! Hadn't I told you, you shouldn't walk around without your shoes?"

Lauren raised her little feet and dusted the dust off before putting her shoes on for her.

"There are bugs who eat children's feet! Do you see the bunny's foot? Your's will rot bit by bit too like that if you don't put your shoes on! You have to wear your shoes if you come down from the bed, got it?"

Yvette nodded, then looked at the red marks on the rabbit's foot. "Mommy, will bunny's feet rot too? Can we please save it? It won't eat at all; so sad..."

"Daddy has applied some ointment for it, no? It'll go back to normal soon. The bunny just came to us, and it still doesn't know you yet. It' start eating once it knows you won't hurt it! So, why don't you put your toys into the box while it rests? Daddy will come and take us home very soon!"

After a round of tidying and a nap, Lauren roused to discover it was already after four o'clock.

Looking at the mountain of boxes, she couldn't help shaking her head. Yvette had only been admitted to the hospital for a few days, and it looked like they were moving houses. It'd really be troublesome if Willy couldn't come.

Seeing that it was approaching their agreed time, she didn't leave hastily but waited for Yvette to wake up and put another two layers of clothing on her.

"Mommy, I want to go outside and play for a while..."

Checking the credentials on hand and asking someone to work on the finishing touches, Lauren nodded. "Go ahead. You can only play right by the door; don't go too far away and don't make too much noise. You have to be quiet, got it?"

"Got it..."

With that, a caretaker took Yvette's skateboard while she carried the rabbit cage out the door. Looking up, Lauren would catch her dashing past the door from time to time, being as quiet as she could be.

Seeing they were about done packing up, Lauren headed out, allnoveldrama

smiles as she watched her baby girl dashing to and fro. Inadvertently looking up after checking the time on her watch, she chased after Yvette seeing her getting further and further away.

"Yvette, come back!"

Yvette's attention, however, was all on the colorful clown peeking out of the door to the stairway as she rode her skateboard, walking toward him, mesmerized.

"Are you... the clown in the book? Balloon..."

But just as she reached for it, the balloon suddenly disappeared. Meanwhile, Lauren's voice came from behind her. "Yvette... Yvette, where are you going?" Shocked to find Yvette standing by the stairway, Lauren rushed to her. "Yvette, come back here! Come back!"

"Mommy..."

Turning around instinctively, Yvette wanted to walk to Lauren, looking as though she had come back to her senses, but a hand suddenly reached out and tugged her, leading her to stumble and fall backward.

"Ah..."

"Yvette!"
