Alpha's Second Chance

I was making breakfast for me and Enzo as he would be home soon to eat before he went back to his warriors. We made an agreement to always eat together in the mornings and evenings unless there was a reason not to.

My phone pinged and I go rake it and see a text incoming, but I don't recognize the number.

-You and your mate will get what you deserve.

The number is American, but I have never seen it before. I leave it open so that I can tell Enzo when he comes home. And it doesn't take long before I hear him come inside the house, but I can hear he isn't alone. And the next second he comes to the kitchen followed by Dad, and both give me a hug and Enzo kisses

me.

"I am sorry to disturb your lunch, but I need to ask Enzo something and it involves you as well," Dad says, and I smile.

"It is okay Dad, let me get another plate," I say and do that.

We sat down and ate the eggs and bacon I had made. And I know whatever it is Dad wants to talk about, it must be important, or he would have waited.

"So, as you know Luca passing away left me without my official Beta. I talked with Luca's family because if we should do it right next in line is his brother. But Marco does not wish to be beta and Luca has no children neither does Marco as he says. So I have asked Kyle to be my official Beta, and he has accepted. But Kyle is not young anymore, and his son is already Alpha of their pack." Dad says. And we listen.

"Noah will Turn eighteen this year, and I asked him to think about who he would feel vest with as his Beta. As when I step down, so will Kyle. Noah has been thinking about this for the past week and came today and told me that, at this point, there really is only one he can see doing that job with him. You Enzo." Dad says.

"Me? I am even not born into this pack. Do you think the pack would accept it?” Enzo asks, shocked.

"The pack is getting used to you, Enzo, the warriors you have started training saved many of them during the attack. Your training is effective. I don't say that Matt and Kyle's warriors are not good because they are some of the best we have, but so are yours and in a very short time." Dad says.

"And to be honest, it will be good for Noah to have someone like you with him," Dad says.

Enzo sat not being sure about what to say, and we let him take this news in. When Dad, by a coincidence, looked at my phone and saw the message.

"What is this? He asks.

"Oh, yes. Sorry I forgot with you coming in and your new, I meant to show it to Enzo." I tell them. Dad takes my phone looking closer.

"You and your mate will get what you deserve." He read.noveldrama

"What?" Enzo asks and Dad gives him my phone.

"It's an American number. So I have no idea who it can be." I say. Dad looks at it again, then finds his own and saves the number.

"I will get someone to check and try to trace the number," Dad says.

"Okay, Dad. Thank you." I say.

"You are welcome, Enzo. Think about what we offered you." Dad says to Enzo.

"I don't need to think about it. If you and Noah are sure, it will be a big honor. But I have no idea what it means to be a Beta," Enzo says.

"And that is why you will work closely with Kyle. He will teach you the basics. Rest is up to you." Dad says.

"Okay," Thank you," Enzo says.

Dad stands up and gets ready to

leave, giving me a hug before he does. When he has left, Enzo takes

me into his arms and holds me

close. He does not like that we again are being threatened.

"I will keep you safe. I won't let anyone hurt you or our son." He promises.

"I know," I tell him.

"I can not believe that Noah wants me as his Beta. It's a big honor." He continues.

"You have done a lot since you came here. Everyone has seen that. Noah trusts you, and so does Dad. And he is right. It will be good for Noah to have you close." I tell him, wanting him to know that he will be great. That I know he will be.

"Thank you. I will do my best to serve him in the best way possible. I will help him

in any way I can." He says, and I smile at him.

"I know you will," I say and kiss him.

"I hope your dad can find out who sent that message," Enzo says.

"Yes, me too. I know he will do all he can," I say.

"I know, he will never stop before he knows, not when it is someone threatening

you. And neither will I," he says, and I nod my head because I know he is right.

But I am afraid, I don't know shy, but

I am, I can not explain it, but it feels like something is coming, something big. And I fear that whatever it is, it will be very violent, and I fear that we will lose someone. But I don't say this loud because I know it will only worry Enzo even more, and he will tell dad out of fear for my safety.
