"Wait, Zack did what?"

Lemira couldn't believe her ears. She rushed down to the basement, where the entire Langston family had already gathered.

Asher stood by the door, staring at Zack's lifeless body hanging from the ceiling. His brow furrowed, but deep down, he was relieved. A suicide out of guilt meant they could pin all the blame on Zack.

Caspian spoke up on her behalf, "Lucian, if you knew Zack was trouble, why keep him around?"

Lucian looked uneasy. "I thought it was wrong to just fire him after all these years, especially since Evelina was close to him."

Just then, Evelina burst into the room. "Asher, I heard Zack killed himself. Is it true?"

Asher stopped her from going any further. "Yes, but you really shouldn't see. It's not a pretty sight."
