When Love Breaks (Josephine)

Chapter 186

Introduce them to the nurses?

Of those three men, two were complete scumbags. The other was practically untouchable. None of them were exactly ideal for an introduction.

However, she couldn't reject them outright. It would seem like she was actually defending those two jerks.

After some thought, she curved her lips into a smile and said, "Oh, them? The one on the hospital bed and the one on the couch are a couple. And the one by the window is my friend. Sorry, I can't introduce you to any of them."

"Wait, what?" The three nurses gasped. Their hands flew to their mouths.

"They're a couple? What a waste!"

"No way! They both look so manly. I never would've guessed. Uh, wait... Then who's, you know, the bottom? Sorry! I probably shouldn't have asked."

"And the most handsome one is actually your boyfriend? You're so lucky! Then again, you're gorgeous. You two look amazing together."

What?

Josephine froze for a second before hastily waving her hands. "No, you've misunderstood! The one by the window isn't my boyfriend. He's just a friend."

The nurses exchanged knowing smiles. "Don't worry, we get it."

Then, they shot her a few playful looks, giggled, and walked off.

Josephine had silently praised herself for her quick wit. She hadn't expected them to completely misinterpret her.

She glanced at Ethan and felt a flicker of guilt. Had she just taken advantage of him?

Back in the hospital room, she

wasted no time and turned to Yvan. "I've already informed Nadine. She be here soon. Why don't you wait

here? You can leave once se t

arrives. I'd prefer not to see her," she said.

Yvan snapped his magazine shut. He crossed his legs and smirked. "You don't want to see her but you expect me to? I told you. If you leave, I leave. If you want me to stay, then you're staying too."

Was this guy insane? Why was he making such a big deal out of this?

But Josephine still had something to ask him. After a brief hesitation, Josephine moved to the other side of the couch and sat down.

"How are you planning to explain the account and posts to Joe?" she asked.

Yvan scoffed. "What's there to explain? I did it. So what?"

"You-" Josephine was about to argue when Yvan's phone rang. He answered and put it on speaker.

"Hey, Dad," Yvan greeted.

"You little brat! Let me ask you something. Did you mess with Zayn's account? Don't even bother denying I'm the only one with

access to it. And my phone? Only you could've taken it. You're the only one who could've done it!" Joe's voice was thick with rage, noveldrama

However, Josephine couldn't help but notice something as she listened in.

When Joe was mad at her or Zayn, his fury was real. It was unfiltered and explosive. But with Yvan? Beneath all that anger was something else.

It was laced with tolerance. Even indulgence.

Yvan looked completely unfazed. "I never planned on denying it. Yeah. I did it. What about it?" he replied indifferently.

Joe's anger spiked. "Why the hell would you do something like that?"

Yvan leaned back against the couch and smirked. "Come on, Dad. You're using dirty tactics to go after a girl half your age. Don't you think that's a

bit low? I'm a man of justice. I have to step in when I see injustice"
