"Did they say that?"

Josephine was so focused on taking pictures that she didn't realize what the nurses talked about. However, she was curious.

Ethan smiled faintly. "That's a nod of approval to me. I'm delighted."

Josephine took a deep breath. Could he stop flattering her?

Why was an elegant and refined man like him so good at flattering others?

She couldn't take it anymore.

Just as they walked out of the hospital, Josephine spotted a fast-food restaurant across the street. She said eagerly, "Let's eat there!"

Ethan couldn't help but frown when he saw that.

"Are you sure the food is edible?"

"What are you talking about? The restaurant is right outside a hospital. Its hygiene and nutrition ratings will surely be better than most places. Why would you think it's inedible?"

Ethan found it funny. "Do you have proof to back up what you just said?"

Josephine put on a serious look and said, "This is common sense."

"This isn't common sense. To be precise, your flawed hypothesis led to a wrong conclusion. In reality, the hygiene of a restaurant near the hospital is the same as anywhere else.

"Furthermore, with the high customer traffic, they won't have the time and energy to maintain its cleanliness, leading to worse hygiene."

"Are you being serious?" Josephine shook her head. "I don't believe you. Let's have a look for ourselves."

Since she insisted, there was nothing he could do but play along.

However, it was already almost 10:00 pm. Even if he wanted to treat her to a romantic dinner, most restaurants would be closed. He had no other choice.

As expected, even at this hour, two-thirds of the restaurant was still occupied. When they both entered the restaurant, they attracted a lot of attention.

Josephine was able to mask her presence with her petite figure. However, Ethan's tall figure was impossible to ignore.

Josephine was starving. All she cared about was the food on the menu. She didn't notice she had become the center of attention. Without a care, she started ordering the food.

"I'll have one of these. What's this? Baked potatoes? Why do they look mushy?"

The waiter smiled and explained, "It tastes better like that!"

"Really? I'll have some."

She turned around and kindly reminded Ethan, "You don't need to order for yourself. Let's share. The portion is too big for me. Or do you have germophobia and prefer to

order your own?"

Initially, Ethan was put off by the stained trays and wet plates. But when he heard

that they were sharing, he lost his reluctance.

In fact, the food even looked more appetizing to him now.

"No, I don't have germophobia."

"Good."

Josephine ordered six main dishes and some sides. After that, she sat down satisfyingly.

She handed him a plastic spoon and fork. "This is actually my first time in a fast-food restaurant. What about you? This must be your first time too, right?"

Ethan replied, "When I was abroad, I frequented fast-food restaurants. But I

haven't been to one since coming back."

"Try it. How does it taste?"

Josephine took a bite and didn't know what to say.

The vegetables were overcooked and mushy. The food was also over-seasoned, making it a bit too salty.

But since she had chosen this place, she couldn't complain. She would wait for Ethan to try it for himself, to see what he thought.

Then, she would just agree with him.

To her surprise, Ethan took a bite of the broccoli and nodded slightly. "It's not

bad."
