Before leaving, Justin went to Quinton and decided to talk to the latter.

Both of them were in the tea room. Justin looked out the window at the falling flowers and said solemnly, "I'm going to Beach City, and I'm not sure when I'll come back."

"I figured that." Quinton sipped some tea, his face impassive. "I just didn't expect that you could hold yourself back until now. Looks like you genuinely love my sister."

Generally, people would have lost their minds when facing such an incident and would take revenge on the people involved.

However, Justin didn't blame them. Instead, he had his people treat them kindly. It baffled Quinton, who was used to malice.

"I just didn't want to do anything crazy while I was furious. Plus..." Justin looked at Quinton. "You, the kids, and Margaret are the most important people for her. I asked you guys to come and stay here to reassure her. I can't use you guys as tools to take revenge on her. If I did that, I would have betrayed her trust in me."

"I admire your generosity," Quinton praised Justin, his tone sincere. "At first, I thought you asked us to come here to have a backup plan. You wanted to use us as hostages to threaten her... Now, I feel I was being petty."

When he first went to North City, Quinton wondered if the Baldwin family wanted to use them to threaten Renee. Hence, he had a backup plan.

However, the Baldwin family had always regarded them as distinguished guests, even after Renee had run away during the engagement ceremony. It filled Quinton with shame.

"Honestly, my family did plan to do that. It was what my grandpa had wanted to do." Justin chuckled, exposing Austin's initial goal.

Austin had always behaved that way and would never put himself in a passive spot, but he made an exception this time.

It might be for Justin's sake, or perhaps Austin sincerely liked Renee and regarded her as his granddaughter-in-law. Hence, he couldn't bring himself to do something so outrageous. "As long as you guys don't harm us, I'll pretend that you've never thought that way. My family won't easily fight yours either," Quinton said generously.

Justin raised his teacup and sipped some tea before asking curiously, "Can I put it this way? If my family fights the Hunt family one day, will your family take my side?"noveldrama

That day might come soon. He wanted to know the choice the Everheart family would make. "I can't guarantee that," Quinton answered honestly, his brow raised. "It's up to my sister. I'll take whatever side she takes. Personally, I like you more."

"If I'm not mistaken, you hold a grudge against Stefan."

Justin had no idea what had happened between Quinton and Stefan, but he could see their explicit and implicit fights. He also could tell that Quinton hated Stefan.

"Yes. If my sister didn't mediate our conflict, only one of us could survive!" Quinton snarled.

At the mention of Stefan, Quinton was filled with rage. He looked gloomy but had to hold his
