The Twin Alphas Warrior Luna (RYN)

Warrior 245

KYN

I refused to say a word to anyone on my way home.

Even when I was hugged by my mother and my best friend. Even when my mates mindlinked me, I didn’t so much as react talk more of say a word.

I just wanted to be left alone, and my silence eventually conveyed that message to them.

I had no idea how long it took to get back to the North. The explosion had attracted the attention of Southerners who didn’t want outsiders there in the first place, so with a helicopter ride, we all got out of there quick.

And that broke my heart.

Leaving Dominic behind in that tower of smoke.

It’s such a terrible way to die and he wouldn’t have died if I wasn’t so self–absorbed and stupid.

The moment we landed back in the North, a Healer was already waiting to attend to me. Most of my wounds had healed by then, but I guess they wanted to be extra sure I was okay.

Whatever.

I let them do what they wanted with me, while my mother and mates watched intently.

After that, I was taken to the bathroom, where I showered and changed into comfy pajamas. Then a drip was stuck in my vein which immediately made me drowsy.

With the help of Theon, I laid back in bed, on my side, closed my eyes, and immediately drifted off.

Once again, I was plagued with nightmares, and they got so bad that the moment I sensed someone coming close. I reacted instantly.

Someone screamed and when I opened my eyes, I realized I had the nurse gripped by the throat, her neck already bleeding from where my claws pierced her neck.

Theon was there in seconds, gently prying my fingers off her throat. “It’s okay, Bunny.” He said calmly, like a father to a child. “You’re safe now.”

Am I? Will I ever be safe from the horrid things I’ve done? The deaths that occurred on my behalf?

I let go, and Miro apologized on my behalf.

Although shaken, the lady gave a nervous smile before removing the drip needle from my veins.

I barely felt any pain and after doing other things, Miro whispered something in her ear before she nodded vigorously and hurried away.

“How are you, Bunny?”

I looked at him, but I still felt no strength to answer nor mindlink.

Theon gave a sad smile while Miro came to stand on my other side.

“Still not feeling like talking?” Theon asked, and I nodded slowly, feeling my eyes water at the remembrance of Dominic.

09:35 Wed, 19 Mar A.

“We understand, baby girl” Miro said, caressing my head softly. “But I think there’s something that would cheer grap

My brows pulled together in a frown and I suddenly got a little miffed that my mates could think that anything could cheer me up right now.

Just then, the door opened and the same nurse I attacked came in with a wheelchair.

As if I weighed like paper, Miro carried me and sat me in the chair, then he pushed me out of the room into the hallway. There, I found Sadie sleeping with her head in her father’s laps.

Mr. Cresswell waved to me, and I waved back before I was pushed away.

I wanted to ask where we were going, but I still didn’t want to talk, so I let my mates take me where they wanted.

Eventually we stopped in front of a similar hospital ward, and after a knock, Theon went in first, opening the door for us to come in.

At first, I saw my mother with El standing near a hospital bed, then I saw Zed too, with his fellow Gamma and Delta

At first I was puzzled why they were smiling at me until Zed moved out of the way and I saw Dominic sitting upright in bed.

He had a breathing pipe in his nose, and a side of his face down to his arm was bandaged. His stormy grey eyes landed on me and when he gave me that rare smile of his, I simply blinked back.

“Am I dreaming?” I said out loud and my mother chuckled as she came to stoop in front of me.

There were tears in her eyes as she took my hand in hers. “No. You’re not dreaming, my precious darling. Your uncle is really alive!”

I looked at him again, confused. “But, the explosion…”

“I jumped out into the sea, last minute.” Dominic said, his voice hoarse. “I would have gotten out on time if some woman hadn’t come in to shoot me.”

I frowned. What woman?

“My aunt, Lydia.” Theon responded. “She went back in to help Blackwell.”

My lips formed an ‘O‘ in surprise. “And what happened to them?

“They are both dead.” Dominic said matter–of–factly. “I made sure of that before I jumped.”

And suddenly, the greatest relief I had ever felt in my life came over me. My shoulders sagged with the reality that just dawned on me. “So it’s really over?” My voice wobbled.

“As far as the Elite families are concerned?” My mother answered. “Yes. The battle is over. I don’t think anyone would bother you or any of us anymore. We can finally have peace.”

Tears blurred my vision as I pulled her into a hug and then I cried so loud and so bitterly that my nose got blocked and my eyes felt swollen. Through it all, my mother held on, while my mates caressed my back lovingly.

Eventually, I calmed down and then the room grew silent in a way that seemed like something needs to be said.

“Kathryn?”

“Yes?”

“Can you come up here? We need to talk.” Dominic tapped his bed.

I looked at my mom and then my mates, who gave me enonaging rods. Then I stood up and we onda by far the bed while my mother stood on the other side

“What’s up, Undie?*

He smiled again. “I never knew I’d hear that title in this lifetime”

I smiled back and took his large hand in mine. It was quite heavy. “What did you want to talk to m

Dominic sighed, sharing a glance with my mother before getting an encreuraging not from her We turned to me “Kaby you need to know something. I am not the rightful heir of the North

I frowned, wondering what he was talking about.

He swallowed. “As the first–born, your mother should have ascended the throne as Queen, best then the dogh with you father and disappeared to spite my father, so I had to take over. Now that you’re both here, it’s time to go back the forone to whom it belongs”

I looked at my mother. “So you will be the Queen of the North?”

My mother smiled before shaking her head. “Actually, no, my love. After everything I’ve been through, I want to spend my days living and loving life.”

I still didn’t understand what this meant, and I hoped my face did the talking for me.

“Dominic and I have decided to make you Queen of the North”

I blinked in surprise, “But, I have to be Queen of the East while being Luna to the West. 1-1–c–can’t split myself between three kingdoms.”

“That’s why we all decided it would be best to merge all five kingdoms as one.” Theon said, coming forward, and I think I had never been more confused than I was right now.

“I don’t understand. You mean three kingdoms?” noveldrama

“No, baby. Five.” Miro said, stepping forward as well.

I looked at everyone like they were mad.

“Let me explain.” Dominic stated. “When I fell into the sea, the Southerners found my body on one of their shores. I think they recognized me because they were the ones who took care of me and brought me back home.”

My brows raised up in surprise. “I thought they hated outsiders.”

“Just Westerners.” Miro interjected.

“The South still hasn’t found a suitable King and since they’ve been relying on the natural resources of the East to thrive, they need us. So the elders have agreed to sign a peace treaty. They are willing to merge into one country.”

“Okay? But where did the fifth kingdom come from?”

“Oh that’s Rogueland. The desert land that leads to the cave mines. I haven’t spoken to their leader yet, but I’m sure he will come on board.”

I stayed silent for some seconds, still processing everything I was hearing. “So there will be one King and One Queen?”

“Yes.” Dominic replied. “You just became the most powerful woman alive.”
