The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

Chapter 999

Felix never imagined he would one day be so close to Cordelia or even meet her. Truthfully, he was not mentally prepared for this.

From that video, it was clear the royal family despised him. If discovered, they would likely try every means to eliminate him. No wonder Nala had said that if he revealed his identity, he would need to stay by the Empress' side-otherwise, he'd be in danger.

"What's wrong?" As an experienced elder, Deborah immediately noticed Felix's

unease.

"Nothing's wrong. Please go ahead, Madam Goddard. I'm focusing on alchemy right now and would rather avoid any contact with the royal family."

Hearing this, Deborah did not question further. Felix had only recently arrived in Martial City and already faced trouble from both Jared and the Maximus family. Who knew whether dealing with the royal family would be a bad thing?

"Very well. We'll discuss this another time."noveldrama

Sitting in his chair, Felix felt bitter. Learning that his parents had abandoned him to save his life made it impossible to maintain any real hatred. With these thoughts, he quickly picked up his medical book to distract himself.

Now that he had reached the Transcendent Realm, further advancement would require advanced pills. Aside from specific purposes, intermediate pills no longer helped with his strength.

But in his current state, he couldn't yet create advanced pills. The road ahead was long, indeed.

"Laura, you should head back."

The next morning at North City's border, Felix stood waiting for Deborah to depart for Westville.

Laura came to see him off, worry etched on her face. "Please be careful, Mr. Zeller."

Though she had reached Blood Realm, she was still far from being able to help Felix. This thought filled her with guilt, leaving her only able to offer blessings and prayers.

"Don't worry. I'm traveling with Madam Goddard."

Just then, a BMW pulled up, clearly just arriving from outside the city. The window rolled down, revealing a chubby young man with a smile that somehow seemed sleazy. "Well, if it isn't taura! I heard you were expelled from the Larson family, weren't you?"

"That's none of your business!" Clearly, Laura knew the man, and she turned to leave immediately.

"Don't go! Come for a ride. You're like a lost puppy now. Others may not want you, but I can take you in.

"How about it? You should come warm my bed instead. That's better than wandering the streets without dignity, isn't it?"

Laura was furious. As she quickened her pace, she caught sight of Felix approaching. Before she could stop him, it was too late.

Through the car window, Felix delivered a sharp slap. "Apologize to her!"

A month ago, Felix might have ignored this. But now, there was no reason he should be wary of someone like this. He did not even need to know the fatty's background or status.

If he was in North City and knew Laura, Felix would handle him immediately.

"How dare you hit me? Damn it!

You're dead! The man raged,

hurriedly opening his car door. Singe they weren't technically within city limits he would not face

consequences even for killing Felix.

Just then, another vehicle approached from the opposite direction of the city. It was a Brabus G800 SUV, a car whose presence commanded respect even in the capital. Anyone driving one had to be either wealthy or noble.

When the car stopped, the fat man froze. His eyes widened as he seemed to recognize whose vehicle it was.
