Chapter 449 Unreasonable
"Imprison me? Treating me as your personal property?"
"One little dissatisfaction, and it's violence towards me and my family?"
"But my father was already pushed from the twenty-eighth floor and died because of you, my brother is missing, and my mother is in a coma. Go ahead!"
Nathaniel's hand trembled slightly, his heart aching terribly.
She still hated him. He thought that after everything they had been through, they could move past those events. But it was impossible. It was a thorn in their hearts, barbed and impossible to remove.noveldrama
Nathaniel withdrew his hand, and Freya gave a bitter smile, "Let's get a divorce."
She opened the car door and walked out, slamming it shut behind her.
The car fell into a deathly silence. Koen tightly gripped the steering wheel, not daring to even breathe loudly.
From the rear-view mirror, he saw Madam leaving in a hurry. He couldn't help but softly remind, "Mr. Morgan, Madam is leaving. Shouldn't we go after her?"
"Let her go! Damn it! Let her go!" Nathaniel shouted helplessly. Fortunately, only Koen heard him.
Otherwise, such childish and helpless words would seem out of character for their usually stoic boss.
Freya wandered aimlessly through the streets of Pontenero at night.
She walked quite a distance before realizing that the street was becoming increasingly deserted. It was dangerous to be out at this hour.
Quickly, she turned around and walked back towards the bustling main road. As she approached a dimly lit alley, she suddenly heard hurried footsteps behind her.
In an instant, Freya felt a chill run down her spine. She tried to escape but hadn't gone far when a sudden force struck her from behind.
A pale, thin hand grabbed her bag strap with a skillful tug, pull, and yank.
The bag slipped off her shoulder. Inside were her newly purchased phone and some bank cards.
She could report the bank cards as lost, but if she lost her phone, she wouldn't be able to contact anyone. In an emergency, that would be maddening.
She turned around to grab it back, only to come face-to-face with a teenage boy. Instantly, she felt a stream of blood rushing up to her head.
Generally, Poneteronean pickpockets were rarely of Truenia descent, but the boy stealing her bag was conspicuously a truenian.
He looked about eight or nine years old, his face still carrying a sense of innocence, and his eyes showed more fear than hers. When he saw Freya he froze for a moment, confusion flickering in his eyes.
But when Freya saw him, she released her grip. The Truenian boy staggered back, clutching the bag strap tightly, retreating several steps.
"Mason?" Freya felt all her strength leaving her, and she called out cautiously, uttering a name that had been hidden for four years.
Her younger brother Mason was the family's treasure, born much later than her and doted on by everyone.
Later, when Nathaniel returned to Saeville to settle scores with the Gomez family, their mother took her brother and fled towards the airport, planning to leave the country. But they had an accident on the way.
Their mother was hit and left in a coma, and her brother went missing.
Freya had been searching for him

ever since, even meticulously checking with relatives in the countryside, but there had been no trace of her brother.
And now, she had encountered her brother thousands of miles away in Pontenero. But how did he end up here? Had he taken a wrong path?
How could this be? Was she mistaken?
"Mason! Is it you? It's me, your sister..." Freya's voice trembled as she spoke, barely able to form coherent sentences.
The Truenian boy paused for a moment, then turned and fled into the dark, narrow alley, clutching Freya's bag.
"Hey! Hey!" Freya hurried after him but couldn't catch up. The boy was a fast runner, quickly disappearing into the depths of the alley.
What do you think?
