Chapter 7 – Waking up
LIAM
I am sitting in my office cursing this paperwork when my mother Rosa comes in and hands me a cup of
fresh coffee.
“Thanks, mom.”
“Your welcome my son. Any news about the she-wolf?” “No, not yet. Waiting for the doc to tell me when
she wakes up.”
“I have sent for some sweatpants underwear and hoodies for her. You said you found her naked. And I
thought something comfortable with being best.”
“Thanks, mom, you’re the best. Didn’t even think of that.”
“Your welcome. Remember to eat something, Liam.” She leaves my office
I know better than not doing as she says so I mindlink the head omega telling her to have someone
bring some food. And it does not take long before someone comes with some lunch. When Mack
enters, I am sitting in my own thoughts, bringing his own food.
“No news?” He asks and I shake my head.
Mack was just like me and everyone else stunned by her beauty. She really is something you don’t see
· every day. We are talking about where she could come from, and other pack stuff. When a request for
a mindlink from the doctor is coming to me.
‘Doc?’
‘My King. You requested for me to let you know when the she-wolf is awake.’
‘Yes, is there any news?’
‘Yes, My King, She just woke up.’
‘Beta Mack and I will be there soon, thank you doc. I close the mindlink and look at Mack.
“She’s awake.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Let’s go.”
LAURA
My head feels so heavy and I feel like there is a heavy light above me that makes it hard to open my
eyes, but after a few tries, I can open them. I look around in the room I am in and know I must be at
some hospital.
‘Kali, you there?’ I try to speak to my wolf.
‘I am here.’
‘Do you know where we are?’
‘No, I got too exhausted and passed out, I am sorry.
‘It’s okay, it is not your fault.
“But I am pretty we are not in any danger. I don’t know why, it is just a feeling I have.’
‘Okay, guess we will have to wait and see.’ Kali silently agrees with me.
I Look around to see if there is anything at all, maybe a name of a pack, or something else that can tell
m e where we are. I don’t see anything, so instead, I try to use my hearing to hear if I can catch on to novelbin
anything outside my room. There is the noise that you would normally hear in a hospital, so that doesn’t
give me any idea about where I am.
The door opens and an older nurse comes in, just as she is about to walk over to me, she notices that I
a m awake.
“You are awake.” She sounds surprised.
“Hello, darling. The doctor is on his way to see you.’ I flinch when she calls me darling. That is what
Miles usually calls me.
There doesn’t go long before the door opens again, and a man in a doctor’s uniform comes in. First, he
doesn’t say anything but just smiles at me and checks the machines that I am hooked on.

“Hello, I am doctor Marshall, can I ask for your name?’ he seems friendly enough so I answer.
“My name is Laura.’ And he smiles again.
“Hello Laura, how are you feeling?’
“Okay, I think.”
“No Headache, or pain in any other places?” I shake my head.
“No.”
“That is good. And I am sure you will be happy to know that your pups are doing well too.” I release a
breath. I was worried about the pups.
“Yes, we have kept a close eye on their heartbeat since you came in yesterday.”

“Thank you, I don’t want to be rude, But how did I come here. And where is here?” just as the doc is
about to answer my question the door opens again and 2 huge but insanely hot men steps inside the
room. Instantly the doc gets stiffer and bows his head towards the men.
“My King.” One of the men smiles and asks.
“Is everything as it should be doc?” One of the men asks.
“Yes, She has no headache or pain. And her pup’s heartbeat is beating normally,
“Is it okay for us to ask some questions?”
“I would say it is. I have just sent for some light food and something to drink for her.”
“Good. Thank you, doc.”
“My pleasure, My King. We will leave now.”
The doc bows his head again and he leaves the room together with the nurse. Leaving me alone with
these two strangers. I know now that one of them must be our King and with that I know I must be in
“The Royal Moon Pack” I have run for longer than I thought.
“Hello.” The man I believe to be the king looks at me. I try to get up so I can show him the respect he
deserves. He looks insanely hot with his black hair deep silver eyes and very well-trained body and I
think he must be close to 6,4 high,
“Please just stay. We don’t want you to hurt yourself.”
“Thank you, your highness.” I bow my head as much as I can laying in this hospital bed. He smiles and
nods his head.
“What is your name?” he asks softly. I guess the doctor didn’t tell that.
“My name is Laura Perl, Your Highness.” He smiles.
“Hello Laura, i am Liam, and this is my Beta and right-hand Mack. What pack are you from?” he asks.
“Midnight Pack, Your highness.” He looks at me surprised.
“You have run a long way, Laura. Mind me asking why?” I really don’t feel like telling this to two
strangers don’t know. Even though one of them is my King. It seems like the king can feel my distress,
he looks at m e and says.
“Mack, can you wait outside, I will be right out.” Beta Mack does not answer, but nods his head and
leaves the room, closing the door.
“It is only us here now Laura. I need to know why I found you passed out of exhaustion on my lands.”
He says softly. And sits down on a chair next to the bed.
“Your highness I.”
“Just call me Liam.” He says.
“I was rejected by my mate after I found him cheating with my half-sister,” I say not looking at him.
“I am sorry to hear that Laura. No one deserves that.” The sincerity in his voice makes me look up at
him.
“I am not worthy to be an Alphas Mate I guess,” I say again lowering my head.
“Laura, The Moon-goddess paired you to an Alpha. She would not have done so if she thought you
weren’t worthy. It was your mate that decided he didn’t want the matebond. Sadly some wolves go that
way. But I must say your mate did it most cruelly. How anyone can hate and hurt that bond I will never
understand.”
I Look at the king that is sitting here next to me. All wolves know the story of how his mate was killed in
a crogue attack only a few days after they had found each other. It was 2 years ago. And rumors say
that the loss of his mate had made him cold and cruel. But the man sitting here next to me was
anything but cold and cruel. I am not sure what I should be saying, so I choose to just stay quiet.
“Did he know, that you are pregnant?” | shake my head.
“I was coming home from the hospital, I had had pains on and off for a few weeks, so went to get
checked. But I guess now the pain was not from the pups but from him cheating. I ran off without telling
him, I have not even accepted the rejection yet. I know it will hurt. And I don’t know if I am ready for
that.” The king looks at me with soft eyes.
“Laura, when the doctor releases you, I want to invite you to come to stay at my house. There it is only
me my mother and Mack, Meaning you will have peace to find out what you want to do now.” I look at
him surprised, I thought for sure he would send me back to The Midnight Pack. 1
“Your highness. I mean Liam, it’s very kind of you. I was sure you would send me back home.
Especially because I am pregnant with my pack’s alphas pups.” He smiles,
I won’t ever force anyone to go somewhere they don’t want to Laura, Especially not someone who has
been through what you have.” I nod my head.
“Okay, I will leave you to rest Laura. I will come by tomorrow and see how you are doing.”
“Okay” He smiles and stands up. Getting ready to leave I hurry to say
“Thank you, Liam.” Looking back at me he smiles nods his head and leaves.
