Chapter 2339
"Why don't you try to think? Just leave this place and get help if you really have no other choice." With that, Frank did not press the issue and kept playing against the tramp, and the game ended in a draw.
The tramp was at once surprised and delighted. "I won't lie-I'm surprised you're this good, since I've always bullied everyone from the village!"
Frank smiled wry amusement. "You're good too-I'm at least a grandmaster, and you still managed to hold me to a draw."
The tramp nodded. "You're right-I have to agree, and you're not the first person to say that either. It's weird... whether it's smartphones, computers, or even tractors, I always take to it like fish to water. Don't you think that's weird?"
Frank shrugged as he cleared the pieces and stood up. "Come with me. Staying here gets you nowhere, and you know how nice the villagers are. You're screwed if they somehow reach out to your family by chance someday."
The tramp smiled but shook her head-Frank was speaking sense, but he was still just a stranger to her, and simply going with him just did not make sense.
Frank could see that much. "Are you worried that I'd hurt you?"
The tramp shook her head again. "Just let me stay here and enjoy my peace and quiet. I won't be a bother."
"Peace and quiet? I don't think so!" someone yelled from outside.
At the same time, Frank could hear overnoveldrama
they were not ordinary people!
"Again?! Can't you give it a rest?!"
dozen breaths. And judging from how rhythmic it was, he knew
The tramp was furious as she strode out of the temple with Frank in tow.
A dozen martial artists were standing outside, all of them wearing monk garb. Still, it did not look like they took vows and were mere apprentices.
The tramp then quickly whispered to Frank, "Hide, or I'd hurt you if I can't control my strength!"
Frank simply smiled but said
nothing, while she started flexing her muscles and snorted coolly. "I didn't want to do this, but I have a guest, so that means you'd all have to go for my peace and quiet."
She then howled thunderously, her shrill voice leaving the monks bleeding from every orifice, while their
eyes rolled up their sockets and they stopped moving!
Frank kept smirking as he watched
the tramp he had seen roaring attacks like that. Still, what surprised him was that her strength resonated with the spiritron vein, giving her a sense of familiarity.
"You're actually fine...?"
The tramp walked up in curiosity, seeing that he never moved an inch.
Frank took off his ring and held it in front of her. "Do you recognize this?"
The tramp frowned. "I don't, but I feel a sense of familiarity for some reason. May I take a closer look? I just might remember something else!"
"Sure!"
After the tramp received the ring, however, she stared at it for a long while but ultimately scowled. "Nope, can't remember a thing! That said, there's something which might interest you. I've been staying here for around a couple of months, but people keep coming after me... I was so annoyed that I left one alive and demanded why.
"Guess what? He said they want something from me... a ring, I think? It's most likely this!"
The tramp put on the ring as she spoke, checking it left and right and getting the sense as if it belonged to her.
Frank chuckled. "Is that so? Then you're definitely coming with me! I'm sure those people would still be after you, and you're not going to win against their many elites. Only I can protect you."
"Nah, I don't think I'll trouble you." The tramp smiled, taking off the ring and handing it back to Frank.
What do you think?
