Chapter 2289
Donnie suddenly showed up, asking, "What's got everyone so cheerful here? Anyone going to fill me in?"
"Oh, Mr. Ingram. There's a dirt bike rally to be held here in town. Would you like to join us?" Sayna asked, though it was a rhetorical question.
After all, Donnie would definitely not waste his time on something so trivial, not to mention that his presence would just affect the Quills' plans to latch on to Frank.
"Oh, now that you mention it, I quite enjoy motorraces. And since you've so kindly offered, I definitely have to come!"
Donnie, however, was clearly not having it—his daughter Alda could be dumb all she wanted, but he refused to be the same. And all his plans would go up in smoke if Nadia managed to claim Frank!
"Shame." Sayna sighed. "The race isn't open, and I can't extend invitations. But don't worry, we can watch it together next time."
"I see. You kids carry on." Donnie nodded.
He was a local giant anyway, and he really did not need to pester Sayna just to get himself a ticket to a local race.
As he turned and left without making a fuss, Sayna smirked-she actually thought for a moment that Donnie really did not care, only for him to prove to be quite the rival.
Still, even if Donnie was concerned that he would lose Frank to the Quills, one still had to concede that the old man showed foresight. He had admired Frank even before Frank obtained the Shagan spiritron vein, even offering him Alda's hand in marriage-talk about being a sly old fox! But that was fine for Sayna-in her mind, a bigwig in a remote place like this one made him no different from lucky upstarts.
When it came to strategy, he would still be dull in comparison to her.
In the afternoon at Hidden Roc Hills, far out in the suburbs, rows of crude chairs were arranged in a clearing halfway up the hill, with not that many people sitting around. Most of them were pointing and chatting about the people in the front row.
After all, this race was just a town-level and motorbike races were not that popular, aside from the hobbyists.
It was therefore surprising that the

Frank smirked. "I'm sure your sister asked for this?"
Sayna shrugged, not bothered to hide it. "It's more of an exhibition than a race. She naturally has to show-her chops, or there's no way she's surprising a big-shot like you!"
Frank smiled but said nothing—this race was going to be really difficult, and Nadia was an amateur no matter how good she could be. How could she win unimpeded?
He must admit that the girl really did not care if she lived, just to take a shot at impressing him.
"They're here!" Alda exclaimed excitedly, suddenly pointing at the trac.
Everyone turned to find a row of motorcycles lined neatly in front of the starting line.
Amusingly, one of the riders had a superbike, which naturally stood out among the dirt bikes.
"Is she crazy?" Alda asked, bemused.
Sayna laughed in turn. "You don't get it, Ms. Ingram. My sister is showing off! Riding dirt bikes in such a terrain is easy-she's making it difficult just to make it fun."
Alda was unsure how to react to that-Nadia would only have herself to blame if she got hurt for nothing.
In fact, one of the riders was bemused too. "Ms. Quill, are you kidding? A superbike on a mountain dirt track? You'd get yourself killed!"
Surely there was a limit to showing off!
Even so, Nadia smirked. "You're all so stuck in your little worlds that you can't understand that there's always someone better. Soon, I'll show you an overwhelming victory!"
What do you think?
