The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains

Chapter 460 Internal Strife Erupts

Emily stared at the design sketch in a daze.

Dean found her behavior baffling. He put his phone away and noticed Emily's eyes flicker, but she still didn't move.

Growing impatient, he thought to himself, 'Sophia was right. Her sister loves to put on airs. I've already explained why I'm here, but she's still lingering, probably scheming something.'

"Hey, did I not make myself clear? I said I want to see your designer, the one who created this royal blue sapphire ring. Why are you still standing here? Go get them!" Dean's politeness lasted less than ten minutes before his true colors showed.

And this is the person who wants to collaborate with her?

Emily couldn't help but scoff internally, thinking it was a joke.

She gently placed a hand on her stomach, lifted her chin slightly, and responded coolly to Dean, "I'm sorry, I should have explained earlier. The designer you're looking for is right in front of you."

In front of him?

Dean looked at Emily warily, seeing her calm and polite smile. Suddenly, she seemed to exude a powerful presence.

Dean's arrogance vanished instantly. He glanced at the design on his phone, then back at Emily, incredulous.

"You designed this ring?"

Emily nodded and replied, "This was my first piece at JM Jewelry, and it's my favorite. It was created a few months ago, inspired when I first found out I was pregnant. It took a month of designing and refining.

"I'm glad you like it, but I'm sorry to tell you that I have no intention of collaborating with your studio. This piece belongs entirely to JM Jewelry and myself."

Dean was stunned by Emily's confident words.

No wonder Emily held onto the management of JM Jewelry!

Dean had found this ring design while browsing popular jewelry designs online. It was his favorite, and it just so happened to be Emily's work. What a coincidence!

Dean, who had previously harbored some resentment towards Emily, now saw her in a completely new light, his eyes shining with admiration.

But facing Emily, Dean was at a loss for words.

After all, he had recently sided with Emily's sister, Sophia, and even provided false testimony. Emily probably hated him now, so how could she possibly want to collaborate with him?

Dean wasn't one to beg and lose his dignity.

He stood up, feigning indifference, and replied. "I see. Well, never mind then. I was justnoveldrama

passing by and thought I'd try my luck. If it's not possible, I'll be on my way."

Emily, a few years older than Dean and skilled at reading people, could easily see through his act.

Especially after dealing with someone like Sophia, how could she not notice Dean's real thoughts?

It was clear Dean was reluctant to give up the chance to collaborate.

But seeing that Emily was the designer, he had no choice but to accept it.

"Take care, Mr. Lancaster."

Watching Dean's retreating figure, Emily felt a surge of satisfaction.

She no longer felt any guilt about rejecting others. Instead, she felt proud that her

sapphire ring design gave her the upper hand.

The future would be as bright and clear as today's weather.

While some rejoiced, others despaired.

A moment ago, Dean had been indifferent, acting like nothing mattered to him, an untouchable playboy.

But the next moment, he was furiously pounding the steering wheel, his face dark with anger.

In Everglade City, he was a force to be reckoned with. Who dared to reject him like Emily did, without even a second thought?

It was absurd!

But then again, it made sense.

Sophia was a handful. Ever since he met her, she had clung to him, causing nothing but trouble. Now, she had even led to his outright rejection!

And the incident with the Emerald City police-Dean was respected everywhere he

went. When had he ever been treated like that?

Thinking about it made Dean want to tear Sophia apart.

He started the car and sped towards his hotel.

Meanwhile, Sophia had ordered a table full of takeout.

Her parents were unreliable, and her so-called sister Emily treated her like an enemy.

The only person she could rely on now was Dean.

So Sophia planned to act sweet and kind in front of Dean, showing him different sides of herself.

With her charm, maybe Dean would truly fall for her in time!

Thinking about it made Sophia excited.

She picked up her phone and eagerly dialed Dean's number, hoping for a response. "Sorry, the number you dialed is currently busy. Please try again later."

She hadn't expected to be hung up on.

'Maybe he's busy?' Sophia tried to comfort herself. Just then, the doorbell rang.

A smile immediately appeared on her face as she rushed to open the door. Seeing Dean, she happily wrapped her arms around his neck, planting a kiss on his cheek. But Dean didn't react at all.

Every time he thought of that design and how Emily had rejected him without hesitation, he got angrier. He roughly pushed Sophia away.

Already injured from being pushed by Michael earlier, Sophia's waist was now in even more pain.

More importantly, she didn't understand why Dean was so angry. What had she done?

Sophia was furious, and her temper flared.

When had she ever been treated like this?

She couldn't just act like a perfect girlfriend in front of Dean and swallow her anger, could she?

So, like a shrew, Sophia's demeanor changed, and she started yelling at him.
