The Billionaire And His Son Want Me Back (Paisley)

Chapter 230

Seeing Diana had her daughter-in-law with her. Lauren felt a bit uncomfortable.

"Oh. Diana's here, come sit over here," the women

hurriedly made room, leaving the best spot for Diana and Lauren. Julia naturally sat next to Diana.

"Lauren, long time no see. Diana was the only one who addressed Lauren by her first name.

After greeting, she looked at Lauren's side and said. "Why don't I see Marissa today? You used to bring her everywhere with you?"

She almost seemed to announce to the world that Marissa was her future daughter-in-

law. The other wives, already curious, now all turned to look at Lauren.

Lauren used to always bring Marissa to all these events, and they were as close as a mother and daughter. They all thought the good news for the Vanderbilt family was coming soon, that Marissa would definitely marry Dominick But today. Marissa wasn't here. In fact, they suddenly realized they hadn't seen Marissa around for quite a while. Lauren

also stopped bringing her around anymore.

When asked about Marissa Lauren froze for a moment. Looking at Diana's almost-

smiling face, she knew she was doing it on purpose. She must know everything

Lauren forced a smile, trying to seem nonchalant. "Oh, she got herself into trouble, did something wrong, and got locked up" This wasn't a secret that could be hidden forever. Soon, everyone would know, so she didn't need to cover it up. "Oh my Diana blinked, looking as if she'd heard something very serious. "Didn't your family try to get her out? Haven't you always treated her like a daughter-

in-law?"

Diana's words were like a jab at Lauren, and in front of everyone, Lauren couldn't lose her composure.

So she pretended to be relaxed and said, "What daughter-in-

law? She was just a tutor I hired for Sonny. I was just being nice to her, but she's nothing like my real daughter-

in-law."

"Your daughter-in-law?" Diana smiled. "Where did you get a daughter-in-law?"

As soon as the words were out, Lauren was pissed.

The other ladies immediately fell silent, none of them daring to speak up, not even showing much expression. Diana, however, looked completely unconcerned. She took Julia's hand and said, "But I do," Julia lified her head proudly, enjoying the glory that came with

being associated with the Beaumont family.

In the future, when her husband took up the decision-

making position, she would become the lady of the Beaumont family and the next sought-

after figure in the ladies' association.

Diana released Julia's hand and picked up the cup. Raising an eyebrow, she said, "Speaking of daughters-

in-law, my family might have more good news soon"

More good news? From what Lauren knew, Diana's eldest son and daughter were already married, leaving only the troublemaker Nathaniel

Seeing Lauren's curious gaze, Diana chuckled, "My son Nathaniel has fallen for a good girl. And you actually know her."

"I know her?" Lauren immediately became suspicious. Could it be that Nathaniel had taken an interest in Kayla?

"Yes." Diana didn't make her wait. "It's Paisley"

The sound of a thunderclap seemed to explode in Lauren's mind. "You don't know who she is? She's-"

"I know." Diana nodded. "But my son likes her, and I like her too. If she marries into our family, I'd treat her wholeheartedly, unlike some people."

Lauren felt a tightness in her chest. She knew Diana was mocking her for once pushing Dominick to divorce while being so kind to Marissa. "No way!" She rejected firmly.

"Why not? What you say doesn't count," Diana laughed, clearly unfazed by Lauren's face now turning a deep shade of purple. "Damn you, Diana, Nathaniel, and the Beaumont

family! How dare you try to take Paisley? Lauren thought.

Just then, a commotion outside broke the tense atmosphere in the room. "What's going on outside?" Lauren asked the service staff in an annoyed tone.

The staff quickly explained, "A Mrs. Sullivan came to the door and wanted to enter, but her name isn't on the list, so the security guard stopped her."

"Mrs. Sullivan? Since when did we have a Mrs. Sullivan?" Lauren asked, clearly displeased. This was not a place for everyone. Someone who could make such a scene at the door without any sense of decorum would only lower the status of the club. One of the other ladies quickly apologized, "She was originally the wife of one of my husband's business partners. She begged me to introduce her, so I brought her last time. But she-"

The lady didn't say much, but everyone understood. No one liked Mrs. Sullivan. "So, we didn't invite her this time. I don't know how she found out, but now she's come by herself.

This lady was furious with Christina. Last time, she had brought her in, and Christina's crude behavior had offended everyone. This time, they didn't invite her, and yet she showed up uninvited,

Outside, Christina was still arguing with the security guard, insisting that she had to get in today. Behind Christina, Brittany stood uncomfortably, far away.

She really didn't want to be seen with this embarrassing Christina, but she knew that right now, Christina was the only person she could rely on. Christina had said that by attending the club, she could meet the upper-class

ladies, which might help her. But no matter how much Christina pleaded, the security guard kept refusing entry, stating that her name wasn't on the list.

The guard also warned coldly that if she caused more trouble, he wouldn't be polite. Christinanoveldrama

felt a lump in her throat. She couldn't let all her efforts go to waste. She had to secure new connections and opportunities for Brittany.

That's when she suddenly thought of Paisley, and shouted loudly into

the room, "I'm the grandmother of Grayson Vanderbilt! His mother is my daughter! You dare not let me in?"

The loud shout was clearly heard inside. Everyone instinctively looked toward Lauren. However, the first to rise was Diana. Lauren immediately understood what Diana meant and quickly followed her.
