The Billionaire And His Son Want Me Back (Paisley)

Chapter 227

Byron's youngest sister was named Enya Beaumont. She was the

child of his father and the nurse who took care of Byron.

Although she was born into the Beaumont family, she wasn't particularly blessed by fate. Shortly after she was born, their father passed away.

The Beaumont family had never thought much of Enya's

mother, and after their father's death, they cared even less about her and her daughter. In the end, it was Byron who gave the nurse some money out of familial obligation and told her to take Enya and live independently.

Every year during the holidays, the nurse would bring Enya back to visit Byron, using the opportunity to ask for more money. Seeing Enya, who was about the same age as his own son, Byron would always soften and give them money. Later, Enya's mother passed away from illness. Enya grew up, and Byron planned to arrange a reliable marriage for her to ensure her future was secure.

But Enya told him she already had someone she loved and refused his plan. That was the first time Enya defied her older brother, and the two of them had a major falling out.

Byron swore he wouldn't care about his sister anymore. Enya was just as stubborn, cutting off contact with him for years. And then, the next thing Byron knew, he saw her corpse.noveldrama

At first, Byron had no idea that Enya had been married and even had a daughter. It wasn't until years later, when Tyson regained his memory and came to claim Enya's ashes, that Byron learned the truth.

During those years of estrangement, Enya had married Tyson and given birth to a daughter. But even now, that child hadn't been found.

So now, when Max greeted him politely, Byron only nodded faintly in response. I'm doing well. Take a seat."

Max took the first seat beside Byron, with Byron's eldest son, Peter, sitting across from him, who was also Nathaniel's father.

Although Max was young, he was qualified to

sit in this position. No one in the Beaumont family dared to show any dissatisfaction or raise objections. Even Byron's second son, William, could only sit beside him.

The Beaumont family was different from the Vanderbilt family. With so many descendants, there was more open and covert competition, which was why Byron still hadn't fully handed over power.

For major decisions in the family, it was still necessary for Byron to give his approval.

After Max sat down, a servant respectfully brought him coffee. For a moment, the parlor fell silent, and no one spoke first. Dozens of eyes flicked back and forth between the silent Byron and Max, who was calmly drinking coffee. Finally, Byron spoke, "Did you come for that matter again?"

In recent years, the Godard family had made several trips to Harrowfell in search of that child. People said that the child was so young at the time and without parents, so it was possible that she had already passed away. Even if she was still alive, she might have been adopted by another family. They only had a photo of the child when she was

three months old, and there were no other clues left.

"Yes, that's correct, Max nodded. "Actually, there have been some clues over the years."

Max had previously tracked down the orphanage that briefly took care of the child, but when his people went there, the orphanage had been shut down by the government for improper adoption practices and severe child abuse. The responsible parties had already faced legal consequences. The children from the orphanage were transferred to other legitimate welfare institutions

However, when Max continued to investigate based on this lead, he hit a dead end. None of the children transferred to other welfare institutions was his sister.
