The Biker’s Mafia Princess (Angel and Savage)

Book 2 Chapter 7.

Dante POV.

Looking through the files of each boss I feel is involved in my contract, I sigh, feeling a headache coming on. This is driving me insane. Why can't I just be left alone to run my business? Why does everything have to be a damn competition? It's pathetic.

The elevator dings and I hear the tapping of shoes on the floor as I stand from my desk. I know it will be either Rebel, my men, or my family. No one is that stupid, but then again that Katrina woman got in. I reach for my gun when the door to the study opens and my sister walks in.

"Christina, why are you here?" I walk around the desk to give my sister a hug, and she hugs me back.

"I missed you. Grandpa told me what is happening, and I had to cut my vacation short to be there for you. Why didn't you tell me?" She asks with a pout on her pretty face. I smile at her.

"I didn't need you to worry. I have it handled. Come and tell me about your trip.” I say as we both enter the kitchen and I make a start on coffees for us.

"I know what you're doing, Dante." I look at her over my shoulder and smile gently at her.

"You got me. I don't need you worrying about this. Ignore what grandpa says. You know how he is. Always making mountains." I tell her, but all she does is narrow her eyes at me. I chuckle as I draw my attention back to the task at hand. Making coffee.

Christina has recently married into a prominent mafia family. She was fortunate enough that the man she married treats her like the diamond she is. Not all the women in our world get treated that way. Those thoughts make me think of the little assassin that is currently in my life.

How Rebel was treated not only by the MC but by the Moretti family shook me. From what I have learned about her, she was just crying out. It disgusts me that the Moretti's never stepped in to take her away from that situation. I never understood why no one saw it sooner and didn't step in sooner to help her.

Last I heard, Teagan and Antonio had handed over the family titles and businesses to their kids. They are in their sixties, after all. Enjoying their golden years, the same as Hatchet and Deanna are. But make no mistake, Antonio, and Teagan can still command a room.

I finish the task and walk towards my sister with her coffee and hand it to her. She thanks me and I sit opposite and wait for her to tell me about her fabulous vacation.

"So, how is married life treating you?" I say as I take a sip of my coffee. She smiles shyly as she looks down, blushing, and I know she is happy. Far happier than she would have been with that idiot. Giorgio Costa is a good man and loves my little sister unconditionally.

Their marriage was arranged, but that doesn't seem to bother her. They are both happy and he treats her well. Still, if he didn't, then I would kill him. It's that simple. She may be his wife, but she is my sister first and foremost.

"He is treating me well, Dante. He is just the nicest guy. You wouldn't think he was mafia. But then again, you wouldn't think you were either. But enough about me and how sickeningly happy I am and how perfect my marriage is. What is happening with this contract? Do you know who it is?" I sigh and shake my head.

"No, I have a few ideas, but I'm safe. You know this. I can protect myself, so don't worry yourself." I say to her and she bites her bottom lip and shakes her head slightly.

"You better stay safe, otherwise you will never meet your future niece or nephew." She says and I nod my head, before I snap my head up to look at her and she smiles at me.

"Are you?" I ask her and she nods her head. I stand up with the biggest fucking smile on my face as I round the island and scoop her into my arms. I hug her tight and she giggles.

"I'm so happy for you, Chrissy. Wow. I'm going to be an uncle." I say as the elevator dings and we both look at who has just entered the penthouse. My eyes widen slightly as Rebel walks in. Her helmet is in her hand, hair is damp and she is in ripped jeans, a black vest top with an open black leather jacket and converse on her feet. Her honey coloured eyes are red and puffy. Has she been crying?

She stops mid step looking at the two of us, her eyes widen. I stiffen, knowing how this looks. I place my sister on her feet and Chrissy is watching Rebel.

"Sorry, I will come back later." She turns to walk back to the elevator, but I move quickly to stop her.

"It's not what you think. She is my sister." I speak quietly to her, not that I have to explain to her. But given the situation and the plan, I have to make it believable, even for my family.

"Your sister?" she looks anywhere but at me. I know she is upset. Something must have happened with Scythe. She wouldn't be this upset if he didn't take the news well.noveldrama

"Yes, my sister Christina. What happened Rebel?" I say as I touch her arm to offer her comfort, but she steps back and walks around me. She places her helmet on the island and looks at my sister.

"Hello, I'm Christina but you can call me Chrissy. How do you know my brother?" I walk behind Rebel and she just looks at her before she snaps out of it and smiles gently.

"I'm Rebel, his girlfriend." She says. Chrissy's eyes widen as she looks from her to me and back again.

"Why didn't you tell me?" she chastises with her hands on her hips, giving me the we will talk about this later look. The same look our mother would give us when she found out something we didn't tell her. May she rest in peace.

She moves to Rebel and takes her hand and Rebel flinches slightly. The only time she will let you touch her is if she wants it. Right now, she doesn't want to be touched. But she doesn't move.

"I need to speak to you both. Can we do that now?" Rebel is all business. I don't think she knows how to show genuine emotions. Some would say that is because of how she was raised, some would say it could be because of the amount of lives she has taken. It has made her like stone. Cold, unreadable.

"Sure." I say Rebel nods her head and walks to the sofas and sits down. Her face is blank, closed off. This is work mode. That impenetrable armour she wears when she is on. I have seen it before and I want to break through it. It hurts my soul to see her like this. Even the first time I saw her in the diner. She was the same. Just going through the motions.

"Do either of you know Billy Smyth?" oh shit. This isn't going to be good. Why is she mentioning that asshole?
