Chapter 30
Now that Jack had seen it with his own eyes, he should come to realize what sort of person Elsa was.
A second later, I heard a loud plop beside me, and water splashed everywhere.
I never thought that Elsa would jump in as well.
She swam toward me and tried to pull me out of the pool. After a couple of tries, she ran out of energy and started to sink.
“Elsa!” Jack yelled. He took off his coat and jumped headfirst into the water. He carried Elsa to safety, completely ignoring me, who was still
I pouted in silent disbelief. In the face of danger, he actually ignored me, his own sister! What kind of big brother was he?
Even acting required energy. I was tired from splashing around in the water and decided to swim to the side of the pool myself, but suddenly Eric grabbed me by the waist and lifted me out of the pool.
I sat on the ground, gasping sharply. Eric worriedly patted my back. "Are you okay? Do you feel terrible?"
Actually, only the first few gulps of water were real The rest were just an act.
I put my hand to my chest as if I was calming myself and shook my head. “I'm fine. Don't worry."
Eric tightened his brows and helped me get up from the ground. "Go and change your clothes, or you'll catch a cold.”
"Hold on!" Jack took a big step forward and blocked our path.
He angrily glared at me. “Jane, why did you push Elsa into the water? How long are you going to keep hurting her?” he asked in an accusat
I laughed bitterly at what he said. “You think that I pushed her into the water? Jack, are you blind? She was the one who pushed me. Tell me
Elsa walked over with a wide-
eyed expression. “Jane, how could I have pushed you? I obviously jumped in to save you,” she replied innocently.
"It's my fault that I wasn't strong enough. Not only did I fail to save you, but I almost drowned myself"
I pointed behind her, smiling coldly “There's a surveillance camera there. Since we have two different versions of the story, let's check out the surveillance footage."
Elsa turned her head. When she saw the surveillance camera, she became evidently nervous.
She tried to put on a calm face. "There's no need to check the footage. More importantly, you're okay now. Who cares how you fell into the
"No way!" A cold glint flashed in my eyes. I grabbed her by the wrist tightly.
"I won't let myself be slandered like this! Why am I getting scolded when you were the one who pushed me into the water?”
I immediately marched straight into the restaurant and requested the owner to show us the surveillance footage.
The footage was in high definition. It clearly showed Elsa reaching out her hand and pushing me into the water.
Now that everyone had seen the footage, Elsa's face quickly turned pale. "No! I didn't do it on purpose!" she anxiously exclaimed.
“I slipped at that moment and accidentally bumped into Jane! Jack, you must believe me!”
Elsa held Jack's hand. She was on the verge of bursting into tears.
Jack was initially shocked, but once he saw the tears in Elsa's eyes, his rationality went out the window.
He held Elsa's hand tightly. "I didn't
say I didn't believe you. Don't cry. Of course, I trust that you're not the type of person who would hurt someone," he gently whispered.
Then, he angrily turned around and glared at me.noveldrama
“What did you say to Elsa earlier? She was initially
fine, so why would she suddenly look so uncomfortable after? And why would she have accidentally pushed you in?”
What do you think?
