Chapter 1751
In a typical Western coming-of-age story, most eighteen-year-olds are carefree, spending their days buried in libraries, prepping for their college entrance exams. But Alec's eighteenth year was anything but ordinary. He was already the head honcho of the Tredgold family empire, juggling school and a slew of business duties like a seasoned pro.noveldrama
In his senior year, Alec made the switch from a prestigious international university to Devonport. On his first day, he rolled in with a personal bodyguard, which, as you might imagine, caused quite a stir and led to a meeting with the school's principal.
Alec's parents, Jenna and Adler, felt a strange kind of dread when they got called to the school. They weren't worried about public humiliation; they were more anxious about getting caught out by their own son.
"Mr. and Mrs. Tredgold, we're not trying to cause trouble, but Alec's behavior is quite out of the ordinary. He sits at the back of the class on his laptop, and now he's got two bodyguards with him! How are our teachers supposed to manage that?" the homeroom teacher lamented, clearly overwhelmed.
Jenna, trying to ease the tension, flashed an apologetic smile. "Oh, teacher, Alec isn't really into computers. I was the one who insisted he take it to school."
"Excuse me?" The teacher was baffled. Since when do parents push their kids to bring laptops to school?
Adler chimed in, "You see, our family business is huge, and someone's got to take the reins eventually. Alec's been handling it all solo for ages. He's already got a handle on everything your school offers. The main reason he's here is to snag that diploma..."
Realizing Adler was being a bit too straightforward, Jenna nudged him and added, "Honey, it's not just about the diploma. Alec wants to soak up the whole school experience."
Truth be told, it was really about getting that full-time diploma.
The teacher was left speechless.
"Actually, our son did quite well overseas. They would've handed him a diploma without attending classes, but we needed him back to hand over the company on his eighteenth birthday. So, we convinced him to come home."
Jenna pulled her hat down, hoping not to be recognized by anyone passing by.

"Is there anything else, teacher? We told Alec we were at the hospital he finds out we're actually off to a tropical island for a vacation he might just ditch everything!"
When Alec was little, Adler and Jenna treated him like a toy. Now that Alec was all grown up, they regretted it big time. They were second to none when it came to being scared of their own son.

"Oh, and teacher, Alec's secretary is non-negotiable. Without them, lots of projects would grind to a halt. Each project pulls in millions, and if we miss any, your school might lose its sponsorship next year."
By the time Jenna and Adler finished their spiel, the teacher's jaw was practically on the floor.
What on earth was going on?
"Alright then, we've got a flight to catch, so we're off."
Jenna and Adler quickly got up and made a hasty exit from the office.
The teacher was still in a fog as they snuck away.
A company? Millions? Sponsorship?
"Where are Mr. and Mrs. Tredgold?" The principal and the head of the school
board rushed in, spotting the teacher's dumbfounded look.
The head of the school board immediately stepped forward. "We heard you called
in the parents. Where are Mr. and Mrs. Tredgold now?"
"They... just left," the teacher stammered, still trying to wrap her head around everything.
The principal was visibly on edge. "How could you let our major shareholders leave? And who said you could call in the parents?"
What do you think?
