Chapter 633
Carson looked up at the sky again after Eugene finished speaking. "There's no escaping it. Even our seemingly peaceful lake island might get caught up in the chaos!" The words were alarming.
But the smile on Carson's face was oddly reassuring, carrying a hint of acceptance.
It was clear that he didn't seem overly worried.
If Carson wasn't frowning, then things probably weren't as bad as they seemed. They would just have to go with the flow.
In the office.
Tristan had indeed received the evidence from the Dark Web Division proving that Stella had attempted to murder Claire.
The audio recording was placed on his desk.
It was played over and over again.
Stella's voice came through clearly, "I just wanted to kill her. I couldn't stand seeing her get your love, Arthur. I thought I'd stab her while she was asleep. But it was just a pillow under the blanket. The assassination failed, didn't it?
"Arthur, she confessed."
Claire's voice repeated, and each time the recording started over from Stella's confession.
With each playback, Tristan's expression darkened a bit more.
It wasn't until someone barged in without permission that he quickly stopped the recording.
Angrily, he started to reprimand the intruder.
"Don't you know how my rules? No one is allowed to barge into my office without my permission. Who's gotten so hold?"
The intruders, his own parents, were taken aback by his outburst but quickly spoke up, "What, do your own parents need to announce their arrival?"
Tristan knew it was his parents when he spoke, but he had to maintain his authority here. He affirmed, "Of course. Everyone, no matter who, needs to be cautious when coming to see me."
His assistant, standing by, bowed his head but still offered an explanation, "Mr. Walton, I apologize. It was my fault."
Tristan knew why Jagger and Cora were here. He waved his hand dismissively. "Forget it. Since you're here, you might as well listen to what your precious daughter has done,” With that, he replayed the "evidence" that Arthur had sent over.
When Stella's voice came through the recording, it was clear that Jagger and Cora's hearts ached.
"Th-This is indeed Stella."

After the audio finished playing and seeing no reaction from them, Tristan spoke up, "Don't you find your daughter's actions strange?"
Cora coldly hummed, "It's obvious. The assassination attempt failed. Why is Stella being held, and why in the first-level dungeon of the Dark Web Division? Arthur is abusing his power! How can someone like him still hold that position?"
Jagger shared the same sentiment
Tristan slammed his hand on the desk, silencing the room with the loud noise, noveldrama
"Do you think the laws that bind the elite in Clusia are just for show? Or do you think our family can ignore everything?
"Do you realize how many people above and below are watching me? I heard you caused a scene at the Dark Web Division. If sonicone with ill intentions catches wind of this and leaks it, everyone will know.
"My position might not be secure anymore, let alone what comes next. Blame your daughter for losing her mind over love."
Cora finally became anxious. "So what do we do? We can't just stand by and let her suffer in the Dark Web Division at our Age.
"You know what? Morris isn't a reasonable person and won't give our family any face for your sake
Tristan stared at her. "Morris's Dark Web Division can indeed do that. It's the only place in Clusia that operates without oversight and doesn't owe anyone any favors. Even I would be thrown in if I committed a crime"
Jagger looked at him thoughtfully, "Tristan, just tell me, what do you need me to do now?"
Tristan seemed to be waiting for this question. "It's simple. To get Stella out, you need to listen to me.
"Right now, my reputation has taken a big hit,
“Instead of just waiting, I might as well take action. So, I might need to rely on your influence to get people to help me.
"I've heard that Arthur has already set Morris in motion. Instead of waiting, I might as well strike first and catch them off guard."
Jagger thought about it for a moment after hearing Tristan's words. "Alright! We're in this together. Things are different now. Let's give it a shot! I'll go back and start arranging things right away. All my people will follow your orders."
"Thank you, father!"
The situation was like this: both sides were secretly competing.
However, no matter what, the news of Stella's trouble couldn't be changed. An official announcement w
made, stating that she had attempted murder but failed.
The Translation Bureau also issued a notice of her removal from her position.
Her colleagues, who used to see her as successful, now took the opportunity to kick her when she was down, gossiping and spreading rumors behind her back.
The diplomats or other big shots she had become acquaintances with abandoned her.
She truly became a pariah.
The Waltons saw all of this, but at this critical moment, they couldn't really argue back.
They had to endure.
They all believed that they would only have to endure for a short while.
Meanwhile, Arthur asked Claire how she wanted to deal with Stella, after all, she was the most direct victim throughout the whole incident.
What do you think?
