Chapter 626
As Stella spoke, she slowly approached Claire. With every step Stella took forward, Claire took one step back.
Claire felt the pressure from the woman in front of her growing increasingly strange. "Stella, what are you doing?
"Are you going to hurt innocent people just because you can't have love? Then your upbringing is nothing to brag about. Besides, you think you can grab me without anyone knowing?
"You overestimate yourself. You said Arthur loves me so much, so what do you think he'll do if he finds out you killed me?
"People say you are The Charmer, but I don't think so. At least not when it comes to love. You're just a fool who doesn't understand anything, a jealous old maid."
Claire seemed weak, but she had her own temper. Seeing that there was no way out, she might as well speak her mind while she still could.
Her words indeed angered Stella. She hated being called an old maid. This wasn't the first time she had heard it, but hearing it from Claire was unbearable.
She screamed and lunged at Claire, aiming to scratch her face.
Claire was prepared. She wouldn't let herself be beaten. She grabbed Stella's exquisitely styled hair.
With that, the two women instantly got into a fight. The several bodyguards standing nearby didn't want to step forward to help.
One was a woman who had been on the battlefield, the other was a pampered young lady. In less than five minutes, the difference was obvious.
Stella was in a mess, her hair a bird's nest, her top nearly ripped off by Claire. "You, you're so barbaric! How could you be worthy of Arthur? How could you be worthy of sitting next to him?"
Claire was unscathed, still clutching two handfuls of hair she had pulled from Stella's head.
Seeing this, Stella jumped in anger and directly ordered the bodyguards on site, "You, arrest her! Do you have guns? Shoot her dead! I don't want to see her again. Hurry up!"
At this time, she had no image to speak of, like a shrew, roaring non-stop.
However, no matter how she shouted, no one stepped forward. "What? You're not listening to my orders now? I am Ms. Walton. Aren't you from the Walton family?"
Upon hearing this, the man standing aside spoke, "No. Mr. Walton gave the order. This Ms. Garcia is still useful to him.
"He told us to watch over you. Let you vent. He said there was no hurry. After he's done with his business, he'll leave it to you to decide how to deal with her."
Stella knew what her brother meant. "No, don't you all belong to my mother? Do you listen to my mother or to my brother?"
The man in overalls lowered his head. "Please forgive me. I'll listen to both of them."
Claire found the situation rather amusing from the sidelines. This family was so divided.
Stella hadn't expected this situation either. She thought everyone here was on her mother's side. But then again, Tristan now held sway in the Walton family.
Her eyes narrowed, glancing towards Claire, and a silent decision formed in her heart.
She said, “Claire, Tristan can't make my decision. His people are here now, so it's not convenient for me to intervene. But rest assured, it's the weekend in two days. I'll be here, and I absolutely won't let you see the sun rise tomorrow."
After she finished speaking, she let out a cold snort. "Let's just wait and see." With that, she turned and left, her dignity in tatters.
And so, Claire temporarily escaped disaster and was taken back to the small room by the man in overalls.
The walk back to the room was silent.
Claire couldn't help but ask the man in overalls beside her, "So, bro, have I suddenly become a bargaining chip in their power struggle?"
After saying this, she sighed. "Forget it, you won't tell me. But thank you just now for letting me live a little longer in this beautiful world. Well, I don't know for how many days, or maybe even just a few hours.
"Oh, I don't know what will happen tomorrow. I haven't seen my daughter and son properly, nor have I seen the birth of my lovely grandson. And I haven't had time to answer the question my child's father left me with."
*****
It was 2:30 AM. The tide was rising, ånd waves surged one after another, crashing with a deafening roar.
Against the backdrop of the dark night, the vast sea appeared even more desolate and mysterious.
A specially made speedboat set off from another small island. Thanks to the loud sound of the sea tonight, the buzzing of the speedboat's engine was almost negligible.
Besides Leo, who was at the helm, the other three people on the speedboat were Crow, Hank, and Lydia.
The noise was so loud that Crow had to shout to be heard. "Hank, did you block the signal on the island? The wind is too strong, can you hear me?”noveldrama
Hank replied, "Yes, I just finished blocking it. We can speed up now." "Okay, Leo, speed up."
Lydia looked at the approaching island, recalling the last time she was here with Tristan.
At that moment, the people around her had changed. They had been replaced by a group of kindred spirits.
This feeling of being free from constraints was pretty good.
Ten minutes later, as the speedboat approached the shore, to avoid being discovered by people on the island, they turned off the engine and let the waves carry the boat slowly to the shore.
After landing, the group carefully tied up the speedboat and followed Lydia.
Under Tristan's high-intensity training, Lydia excelled in both anti-detection and physical fitness. At that moment, walking alongside these three men, she was not inferior in any way.
Crow kept his earpiece the entire time to stay in contact with Cherise in Betrico. As soon as his feet touched the ground, he said in a low voice, “Boss, we've arrived safely."
As soon as he finished speaking, Hank and Leo both hit him. "Are you trying to get us killed? What time is it? She's pregnant! Don't disturb her, okay?"
However, just as these words fell, Cherise's soft voice came from the earpiece. "Copy that. Be careful."
After exchanging awkward glances, Lydia spoke, "Hank, pause the surveillance signal here again, and follow me this way."
"Okay," he replied. After completing the task, the four of them lowered their heads and moved quickly.
They are all wearing black clothes, looking from afar, almost integrated with the dark night.
What do you think?
