Chapter 665
Lincoln couldn't help but light up when he saw Nathalie, but something in her eyes told a different story-a mix of sadness and loneliness that didn't escape his
notice.
"Vivian, is something on your mind?" he asked, holding her hand, genuinely concerned.
Nathalie hesitated, then forced a smile. "Oh, it's nothing, just some tricky stuff at work."
"Come on, your old man was a math whiz back in the day. Maybe I can help with these tough problems," Lincoln offered with a wink.
After a moment's thought, Nathalie admitted, "Well, Dad, I've got this shopping mall, but it's in a lousy spot, and nobody's coming around."
"Then you've got to breathe some life back into it," Lincoln suggested.
"But I'm clueless on how to do that," Nathalie confessed, clearly frustrated.
Lincoln leaned in, "Here's an idea-talk to land developers, find those investors who are into schools and hospitals, get them together, form an alliance. That's how you make it happen."
Not wanting to see his daughter struggle, Lincoln added, "Vivian, go see an old buddy of mine. He's a top-notch investor. I helped him out once; just mention you're my daughter. He'll definitely lend a hand."
Nathalie couldn't help but beam, "Thanks, Dad."
Lincoln hesitated, something clearly on his mind.
"Dad, what's up? Just say it."
Finally, Lincoln spoke up, "Vivian, why hasn't your mom visited me lately? Does she have something against me?"
Nathalie was caught off guard.
She wasn't in the loop about her mom's feelings. How could she possibly know if there was love or resentment?
"Why would she be mad at you?" she asked, puzzled.
Lincoln's eyes turned misty as he took a deep breath, “Lately, as I've been getting better, old memories keep coming back."
"I remembered how my love story with your mom hit a brick wall with your grandpa. He was pushing for me to marry into the McCoy family But I'd never even met their

daughter, and there was no spark there, so I stood my ground. That got me booted from the Stewart family."
"The McCoy heiress?" Nathalie's eyes widened in surprise.
Lincoln nodded, "She was said to be something special-gorgeous and incredibly talented. Some even said her skills were on par with mine."
Lincoln's voice took on a playful tone, "Your dad wasn't about to ride on anyone's coattails, so I kept my distance. Sure, I respected her, but love? No way. Marrying her would've been a disaster for both of us."
"I was head over heels for your mom, with her gentle, beautiful, and caring nature."
Nathalie chuckled, amused by her father's tales.
Yet, her heart ached for her parents' rocky road. "So, what did you and Mom do when Grandpa stood in the way?"
Lincoln's pride shone through, "After getting the boot from the Stewart family, your mom and I found a little place to call our own. Those times were tough, but we were truly happy."
"Your mom was everything you could ask for in a wife and mother."
"When she found out she was expecting you, she turned over a new leaf, ditching all her bad habits She avoided screens to keep

radiation at bay and spent hours on prenatal care-singing, storytelling... She poured all her love and time into you, so much so that I was a tad jealous." noveldrama
Nathalie was deeply touched by the story.
But the joy her parents shared was cut short.
"At first, your grandpa saw how serious I was and realized that even though your mom didn't come from wealth, she was everything one could hope for-talented, beautiful, and kind. Eventually, he gave our marriage his blessing."
