Reborn From Oblivion

Chapter 606

Nathan trudged down the busy streets, feeling more alone than ever. His leg injury wasn't healing with time; in fact, it was getting worse.

On a deserted street, he didn't have to hide his pain. He limped along, every step bringing a sharp twinge, occasionally letting out a quiet groan.

A sleek black car pulled up, blocking his path. The window rolled down to reveal a man in sunglasses, exuding a vibe of chilly detachment. He spoke flatly, without a hint of warmth.

"He sent me to pick you up."

Nathan nodded, keeping silent, and awkwardly climbed into the car.

The door closed with a soft thud, and suddenly, the car's interior felt calm and minimalistic, a world away from the hustle and bustle outside. It was as if their brief conversation hadn't even happened.

"Injured yourself?" The man in sunglasses didn't bother to turn around or start the car. He just sat there, stiffly, throwing Nathan a teasing comment.

"Yeah." Nathan leaned back against the seat, feeling drained.

"You know better than to get hurt. What happened?"

"I acted on impulse," Nathan confessed, regretting his actions.

"Don't tell me, tell the higher-ups." The car finally hummed to life, speeding down the open road.

Soon, they pulled up at the McCoy family's underground garage entrance. Nathan watched the garage door slide open, his gaze turning introspective.

His hands fidgeted on his knees, fingers tapping nervously, revealing his unease.

"You're back." A familiar voice jolted him from his thoughts, making him realize he was already in the basement.

A wheelchair blocked his path, occupied by a man who radiated authority and nobility, even with his disability.

The car stopped, and Nathan pushed open the door to step out.

The man's eyes landed on Nathan's injured leg, his expression darkening.

"Looks like it'll take a while to heal."

Nathan asked, "How long?"

"I need to take a closer look before I can say."noveldrama

Nathan followed him through a hidden door, stepping into a world of cutting-edge technology—computers, chips, communication gadgets, and various

components...

Although Nathan was away from Nathalie for a bit, he left his reliable team, Dominick and Ford, to help her out.

Nathalie, filled with doubts, realized that Dustin's words weren't enough to put her mind at ease. So, her first order for Dominick and Ford was clear: Dominick, Ford, can you swing by Oakwood College and fetch Dustin's records?"

The duo jumped on the task without hesitation.

They worked swiftly, reaching Oakwood College in no time. Dominick, with his persuasive charm, convinced the archive manager to let them into the records room.

Meanwhile, Ford accessed the college's electronic files using a computer in the archives.

Their combined effort paid off. Ford quickly found Dustin's enrollment records and printed them.

Dominick, using the electronic codes, soon located Dustin's physical records too.

But when they compared the two

sets of data, Dominick noticed

something odd. "Why do the paper records show Regan was at

on

Oakwood College for just one year,

while the electronic records say four years?"

Ford replied, "Everyone knows electronic records can be hacked and altered. Physical records, once changed, leave traces. Most people only think to check electroni@files because it's quicker."
